Beautiful campground. Close to amenities but still feels secluded.

No doubt this is an excellent campground in terms of location and recreational options. However, for some reason it is poorly maintained in spite of its popularity and the above positive attributes. Case in point, the bathrooms. They were not functional last year and remain not functional this year. Specifically they are locked for the most part and when open, most of the fixtures do not work. Clearly there is a problem that is preventing these plumbing issues from being addressed. Port-a-potties abound. The website should clearly state that these published resources are not available so campers who are expecting them are informed.

Always a good time, walking the lakes perimeter trail, moose peeping, evening fires, outdoor cooking, boat rentals. Its the best and close to Denver with a few hours drive

American Land and Leisure is the new contractor and hopefully will fix many problems left by the previous contract co. Road is badly in need of repair and also toilets. This is one of the best located campgrounds for recreational access in Summit County or the state, it should get funding from the county for improvements. Not sure if it does already. But it should be a priority. It should also stay open longer in the fall. Last year it closed very early.

Great views. Plenty to do. Early season water problems for restrooms a little annoying.

Our favorite campground- spacious, clean and gorgeous scenery! And the best place for tons of bike trails all around!

Close to town and trails. Views were nice. Road needs work.

While I like the campground itself, the camp hosts treated me horribly. They did not understand how first-come-first-serve sites listed on Recreation.gov work, yet were literally yelling at me for occupying and paying cash for two nights for Site 38 on Sun Sep 8th and Mon Sep 9th, which was clearly marked as FF and unreservable for those two nights in question when I arrived on the morning of Sun Sep 8th (at which time Site 38 was unquestionably vacant). It was an extremely shocking and frustrating experience and irrational camp hosts such as that should not be allowed to work at pur public campgrounds and parks ever again, a job for which they receive compensation, as well as camping benefits.

Campground is near the water which is nice. Its a shame to see our national forest campgrounds being neglected. Toilets were locked up because of winter freeze, Picnic tables all need work. It all just needs to be given attention.

I was pleasantly surprised by the waitlist system. I was able to get a site even though the campground was sold out when I first tried to book.

Shame they haven't fixed the restrooms yet from last winter's damage.

The toilets were out of order and we weren't notified ahead. They had porta loos instead. There was running water for drinking but it say not to use for anything but drinking, so no washing up or washing hands or anything. Very poor. If we had been made aware ahead we could have found somewhere alternative.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
