This is one of the only campgrounds I truly like to pay for! We are usually an off grid kind of camping family! But we make it a must to camp at perception every year! They are always clean, next to the river and the camp hosts are always friendly and helpful.

We stayed in site 10 which is supposed to accommodate tents and is listed as a double site. There was definitely NOT enough space for two tents (and we paid $60+ a night for it). We ended up putting a tent on the pavement because it was our only option. It should definitely not be a double site. The neighbors on either side of us were quite loud- listening to loud music from sun-up till well past 10 pm. They were also loudly yelling/fighting. The sites are too close together to have such noisy neighbors. All that being said, the creek is a great way to cool off on a warm day and we had fun floating down it. One more side note: a small bundle of firewood was $9!!! You can drive down the road a mile or two and buy a bundle for $5.

We love to go to Perception Park. It is so peaceful, and we love to hike by the river there. The camp host is very kind. Sometimes we see wildlife, like last year we saw owls. We just like having a little peaceful campfire, and we do love seeing the night skies constellations.

No water this year. Received several reminder emails about our trip and not one of them mentioned that there was no water. Our group site had 23 parking spots but every few hours the camp host would come by and count our cars and kept telling us we would be charged for extra cars past 10. We had 12 cars overnight. We had about 45 people in our group of 10 families and paid $616 for 2 nights. We stayed solely in our designated group site area. Some families had 2 cars to accommodate different schedules between parents and to fit all supplies and gear. We could not understand why it was an issue. The camp host felt very petty, especially when we were good visitors, followed the rules and kept the site clean. We never did get charged, but felt like it made the campsite feel unfriendly this year. This review is based solely on this year. Been coming up to this campsite for years and love it. This was year 8 coming up with this same group and have never once had an issue.

We love Perception Park. I've been going there since I was a little girl. The river is a wonderful feature of the campground. It's all paved so it's a clean park as well. If you have any mobility issues this is very helpful. This year there was no water at the campground because the spring was dry. I truly hope this gets resolved. It would be a very sad thing if this canyons campgrounds stayed dry. We saw the warning and were prepared with water, so it wasn't a problem for us at all. The camp hosts this year were exceptionally nice and welcoming. They make our stay extra nice. We look forward to future stays.

With what we pay for camping in the National Forest you would think that they would keep up on maintenance. This is a great campground But no water available. Come on Us Forrest do your job

Great camping experience!.. wish there was a fast pass to get in before 3pm. Most of the day is gone before you can setup and enjoy camping

We recently stayed at this campground and had a fantastic experience. The hosts did an excellent job of maintaining the campground. They were friendly and approachable, always ready to assist with any questions or needs. The vault toilets were kept clean and serviceable, which was a big plus. The overall cleanliness and upkeep of the campground made our stay very comfortable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a well-maintained and welcoming camping spot!

Great camping site with a lot of trees and safe places to set up your tent, the host was really friendly and answered all of our questions. I will definitely return next year.

Perception Park was a lovely place! WCCU site is across from two other pavilions next to the river. We had a large group of around 50 people. The pavilions have lighting now. Bathrooms didn't smell bad, plenty of toilet paper. Would suggest bringing sanitizer or soap to wash hands. There is a water faucet available - you can even drink it! :D The camp host was very helpful and generous/laid back. We used our own firewood. We were still talking and laughing until 1:30 am. No one seemed disturbed or said anything. There is a volleyball area and there was a net on it - it's located down the trail. The horseshoes are inside the WCCU site.
Lots of tall trees and gnarly ones too. Very nice paved trail system. River access was great - and pretty. We watched tubers go by. The water was very cold - would not recommend lounging in it - you could get hypothermia. But wading in it for a few minutes was okay.
We don't recommend getting groceries at the gas station at the base of the canyon - prices are twice as much as the grocery store. Don't bring your 4-wheeler - not appropriate at this site.
Perception is simply a beautiful, pleasurable site to camp. We were very happy with our stay and will definitely consider it again! Don't forget your tubes. ;)

The general conditions of the site were pretty good. There were some pretty big holes that had been dug that would have been nice to see filled in. The campsite boundaries weren’t very clear so we were unsure what all was our site. A site map would have been nice. More than once people tried to use part of our site as a day site without approval because it wasn’t marked.
The bathrooms were horrendous! I have been camping a lot in my life so I know what to expect with those kinds of bathrooms and those were the worst I have ever been in. They were filthy with toilet paper everywhere and poo smeared all over the toilet seats. And the smell…..I wouldn’t have expected it to smell nice in there but this was more than awful. I was gagging each time I had to go in there. So bad and the biggest reason for my low rating.

The camp host, Sonny, was fabulous. He went above and beyond to check on my group, make sure we were having a good time, and also tried to make sure our time at the local reservoir, Causie, was a good time as well. He was awesome.

It is a amazing camp ground. The bathrooms we really dirty especially the men's and were not cleaned the entire weekend.
@RachaelD224114 · Camped on Sep 2, 2022
This is a great camp ground. The camp sites and roads are paved which makes it nice. Less dust. The sites are easily marked. You can tube down the river from the camp ground. There is also some water stations you can use if you’re tent camping. It is on the road so you will get some street noise. We enjoyed staying there.
@MichaelB697476 · Camped on Aug 24, 2022
The road Wes nearby and noisy. Much more traffic than I expected. The campground also seemed rundown. The fire pit was crumbling, etc.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
