Piney Point Campground in Bowie County is located just 17 min southwest of Texarkana, TX with an elevation of 290 feet. There are a total of 66 campsites including 7 tent-only sites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of March to the end of September. 45 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 35 and 55 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 45 sites have electric and water hookups. 1 site has electric hookups. Fees range from $14.00 to $26.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, boat ramp, flush toilets. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Such a beautiful serene quiet area. Wild critters come up during evening ( raccoon's). Every spot in that park is a perfect spot to camp. We didnt see not one spot better than the other. The public bathrooms and showers needs to be updated and cleaned better. The floors could use a good bleaching but if I had to use the public showers I would wear shoes! I highly recommend this park to anyone looking for beauty and serenity and nice park host.

We only stayed one night at sight number 30. When we dumped into the receptacle at our site the morning we left the sewer immediately overfilled and popped my elbow out of the receptacle. Raw sewage had nowhere to go, but on the ground. There was no notice or marking on this receptacle as to it being out of service. It was the worst camping experience I have ever had.

We had stayed at this campground a year ago and had a lovely stay and decided we wanted to return. Our site was #23, a pull through site. Bathrooms are OK but could use some updating. The camp hosts are very helpful and friendly. Be sure to catch the sunset when the weather is good, its awesome.

We loved Piney Point! First, we were greeted by a very friendly, hospitable and helpful receptionist at check-in who also later checked on us and made sure we knew to watch for high winds that could come in off the lake. The site was perfect and had a gorgeous view. We were only there one night, as we passed through on the way back to KC. Hopefully, we will have opportunity to go back.

Beautiful campground with mostly new cement pads. Electric pedestal were in good shape and water at every site was a bonus. We enjoyed the disc golf course near the entrance.The bathrooms were super. Dirt on floor,bugs on walls. It took 15 minutes to get hot water out of the showers. Renting a power steam unit and spraying the bathrooms down once a month would definitely improve these facilities. I would rater have clean bathrooms than new pads.

The campsites were nice and well maintained. The camp host were very helpful and friendly. The only downside was that the lake level was so low (and they were still letting water out) that it made the fishing very hard and/or non-existence and hard to use your boat. If we had known ahead of time we would have picked another location.

We stayed here on a whim two years ago in October returning home from the gulf and loved I think we had one of the best sites in the park. On our last trip to Tahoe gulf in Texas I made an overnight reservation on our way back to the gulf the first of march a repeat of our first stop.

Piney point is one of our favorite places to camp. You can run up to Texarkana in just a few miles or take a drive to Jefferson, Texas, which is an awesome place. They have fishing supplies, snacks, drinks, ice, and some personal supplies. The camp spaces are spaced a lot better than others giving you a bigger space to socialize. I love the fact that you could park your boat right there by your campground. Its a very well, taken care of campground. The staff is friendly and helpful in any way they can.

Beautiful Park and we enjoyed our stay very much...the only negative would be the site was unlevel with a large bulge in the asphalt right in the middle of the site. We worked around it and enjoyed our stay and will be back!

The view of the lake, a little more distance from neighbor campers and easy to back-in is why we chose this location and will stay at this location again, LOVED IT! Plus, if your staying several days and need to manage the usage of your black tank, your a short walk to the bathhouse which features awesome showers! Do be aware of the large Pine Trees on both sides of the pad to allow for your slide-outs. We were not able to extend our awning all the way out because of a tree, regardless, we highly recommend this spot!

This is my favorite camping spot Texas. I love the tall pines and view of the expansive lake. The hosts are always so nice. The camp is clean and well maintained. Thank you Army Corps of Engineers
