Great campground, right on the Cumberland River. Campground was well maintained. Bathhouse is dated, but was clean and had plenty of hot water. Activities for children. Host was friendly and helpful. Trail leading to Ashland City was closed due to a damaged bridge. Sat on river bank and watched barge traffic and small boats.

Beautiful, relaxing campground! Loved walking by the river. Sites were large and spacious, many are concrete with plenty of parking. Very clean. Each site has own trash can that someone empties daily.

This was a really good tent site. Water on 3 sides. It was a beautiful view. The only issue was that a 100 foot cord is required to reach the tent pad. I didn't have one, but my tent was small enough that it fit near the picnic table. It stormed that night and the chiggers were biting, but that's camping! The late night/early morning barges were pretty loud and awakened me a few times and some sort of animal kept snorting outside my tent but never attempted to get in. I saw a huge catfish (or maybe the Loch Ness monster!) try to jump out of the water!The main hiking trail is closed down because of a damaged bridge. That is the only reason I didn't give a perfect score. Campsite #1 had great woman checking us in. She even came around with freeze pops one hour afternoon!Would i go back? In a heart beat!

What a great campground!! The staff were great especially the main lady who runs it. My family and I will definitely be back. The campsites were well shaded, clean, and comfortable. The showers and bathrooms were well kept.

Very nice campground. Proximity to river for fishing anf the beach down the road are major pluses. Bathrooms are dated and need AC.

The Lock A campground is not the largest, nor is it located next to some of the favored destinations in the world. But it is one of the best kept and managed campgrounds we have visited. In combination with the entire Cheatham Dam facility, it offers a lot of things for families to enjoy - water, fishing, biking, walking...even just chilling. The sites are spacious, and extremely well kept...the staff is friendly - even had a great conversation with the guy picking up trash one morning. As I said, it isn't in the middle of a bustling tourist area, nor is it a large park with clubhouses and game rooms...but it is close to Nashville and Clarksville, there are restaurants within minutes if you need them and it is an incredible site for families and a quiet getaway. stop by if you are close...it will not disappoint.

We frequent Lock A for our trips. This was our first stay this year and the camp host was the friendliest, nicest, most helpful one we have ever encountered. She is a true gem!

Very clean place, the huge concrete pads with picnic table and firepit were a plus! The campsite host was absolutely amazing! Im a new solo female camper and she hyped me up. Helped me back in when I was nervous and really made me feel like a superstar when she didnt have to do anything! Ill definitely be returning. I wish I could have a permanent spot here!

Site 24 is our favorite Site at Lock A. One of the first sites to be reserved. Feel lucky any time we can get it. Staff and Rangers were great.

Host was great always making sure sites have everything needed. Our electric wasn't working. Maintenance came to fix and he was friendly and made sure we had electric until he could get the part to fix the next day. Highly recommend Lock A. We will be back again

Overall a great visit. Easy access hiking with views of the rocky bluff and river. Tennis court and basketball court was nice. Shower house was clean, but only one shower each for men and women. Sites were very level. Tent sites looked clean and level as well, with designated tent area.The Hill in was 1/4 mile long steeeep winding road, paved and well maintained. Take it slow (20 mph speed limit) and you'll be fine! We saw plenty of wildlife, and at night the camp was quiet! We'll maintained! We will be back!

Nice park on the river. Enjoyed watching the barges travel through the lock. Well space sites and camp host very considerate making many rounds of the park daily. She made sure that we were aware that thunderstorms would be moving through alter that night. All around a very nice COE park. Dont use the bath/shower so cant comment.

I came for a Sunday night in mid-June. My lot was an electric & water hookup waterfront site - clean concrete pad, spacious with picnic table & fire pit. Beach was a short walk and theres a longer walking trail along the waterfront. For $28/night this was a great find!

The only recommendation I can think of to improve this excellent campground is to identify the campgrounds site numbers more clearly. They are very hard to see.

the nicest and most well maintained corps park weve ever stayed and weve stayed at several. the grounds were closely mowed, sites were level, spotless and roomy, bathrooms were spotless! whoever maintains the park does an outstanding job. one end of the park to the other is about 3 mi and completely flat w a nice asphalt road where we rode our bikes along the beautiful river every day. our site (35) was about 150 from the river where we fished. watched the barges and boats go by. extremely relaxing and tranquil. town was about 20 minutes away if u need supplies.

shower and restroom facilities need upgrading. The basketball court/tennis/court needs repair The campsites are clean and very well maintained and have scheduled trash pickup. Overall the campground is a great place to stay and the staff is very helpful

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
