Very nice campground. Beautiful trees and wildlife. It is old and some of the sites are small with not much room for rv's. We had a cargo trailer in space 22 and it barely fit with our pick up truck. Nice space for a tent but kind of close to the campsite next door (but not too bad). Flush toilets are old but seem to be maintained. Water is available but not at every campsite, we had to walk a ways to get water. Camp host was nice. No firewood at campground, either bring some with you or you will have to go to the resort down the road to buy it at overpriced rates.

I did not want to leave! It was an amazing experience. About less than a mile away from Lake Alpine either hike or drive. Lots of things to do! Camp Host Dennis was amazing and shared maps of hiking spots. Be bear aware! Please follow the rules and put all items in bear locker to keep everyone safe including the bear. Had a bear encounter because 2 campsites over did not put their cooler into the bear box.

Such a great campground! We like to the flat 30 minute walk to the lake when we're motivated! And we enjoy the 5 minute drive to the lodge for a meal when we don't feel like cooking. It's family friendly and a great find.

We had a nice time. The weather was very warm. Ive been going to Lake Alpine for 63 years so its a favorite destination unfortunately, most of the pads that silver tip are deteriorating and need to be redone. Some of the tables are in pretty bad shape some of the shrubs need to be trimmed so people can get in without scratching their vehicles, but definitely the parking pads need to be redone. Then when we visited the Marmont picnic area, everyone in our group was very sad. There was a lot of tree removal going on, and I completely understand that but clean up the mess there were logs everywhere you had to step over the logs, tripping hazards, brush, and then brand new tables plopped right in the middle of a pile of trees. How can people even function how is that even safe especially for the elderly trying to climb over logs that have been cut down or even carry your paddle boards to the lake and try to carry them over all that debris63 years and Ive never seen it so bad clean it up Alpine clean it up

Well maintained campground (Silver Tip). Camp host is friendly and conscientious. We've been coming here for over 40 years! Usually, quite peaceful.

We found the area manager to be incredibly rude. The host at Lake Alpine west shore was also rude. She had the road blocked so that we had to check in every time we tried to drive to our site, but she was never there. We were also yelled at by the host and the area manager because we had too many tents but the right amount of people. The area manager yelled at us to read the rules posted on the tables but there were no rules. We also checked the website and could not find a tent number rule. After that the host started inspecting our camping gear without our permission. I've been camping in federal campgrounds for over 30 years and I've never had such a negative experience. These people need to be removed.

We liked our campsites and the campground. The sites seemed spacious, fitting at least 2 tents. The host, Thom, was informative and friendly. The lake is a 20 min walk/hike away via trail, or a less than 5 min drive. There is a general store 5 min away.

Very good campsite, wonderful trees and stars in the sky at night , bathroom was close by and clean. Camp hosts were very friendly and gave out good information. There was a nice 1 mile path down to the lake it was easy to walk. I will definitely return.

A gem. There is a trail that leads down near the lake, it is a little long about a mile. The campground was very clean when we were there, it felt like a little slice of heaven. I came during the week and there was almost nobody there, which made for a very peaceful stay, we couldnt have been happier. My dog and I had the best time adventuring all around here. We will definitely be returning! Plenty of trails nearby for a few hikes. Super close to the lake. The host was friendly and even came to check on us a few days into our stay. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. Beware if you come from low elevation, you need to let your body acclimate to the environment!

Campground hosts Dennis and his wife as well as Tom as area manager were and always are very friendly and welcoming. We've been camping at Silvertip for many years and always feel welcomed. The sites are well maintained and clean and the bathrooms are always clean thanks to their efforts.

Dennis is a great camp host, Tom is a great area manager. Campground is clean and has everything we need, and nothing we don't need. Quiet, scenic, and near unlimited activities abound. We hike, mountain bike and target shoot.

Nice camp hosts. My site was closest to exit and road.
@JosephD5297544 · Camped on Jul 20, 2023 at Campsite #2
The site was a little choppy in terms of places to lay the tent, largely because a lot of repair/maintenance to be done. That said, how sweet to smell the alpine air after a long mountain winter, and many thanks to the host and others who quickly got this campground operational after late snow and tree/campsite damage from the weight of it all. Very grateful to camp here and we will be back.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
