Bring your wind and rain gear along with a good sense of humor, might as well bring your family down with you to enjoy the experience! Park was kept up by the friendly camp hosts. Enjoy camping when you can.

The condition of this campground is poor. We come about one time per year. Luckily, we are self-contained. When we arrive, we police our own campsites for trash, dog piles, etc. The restrooms are not kept very clean at all, as per usual. The RV dump has been out of order for years.

We had a great time and the weather was awesome

The dunes & beach were amazing!The camp hosts greeted us with rules & saying the restrooms were well kept. They were not! We bought rubber gloves and a bucket with which to unclog toilets so those in our party without their own could actually use one.Note - The gentleman of the camp host party was friendly. The woman? She just wanted to list rules in a "this us my place" way, & none of us were impressed by her tone/attitude.

Other than the water/bathroom issue and the lack of enforcement of quite time. It was a good time

The bathrooms near our campsite were always plugged up and almost no water pressure. The other problem was the lack of respect for the quiet time. As late as 2am there were quads and dirtbikes riding in and out of the campgrounds. Otherwise it was a good time. Ps the camp host seemed very nice.

Very spacious campsites, extremely clean, quiet, everyone was respectful and the camp host was playful to my little boy.

As always it was a great time at sand lake. The campground host very accommodating.

Neighbors did not respect the quiet after ten rules and became belligerent when asked nicely to lower their voices and music since small children were trying to sleep. Host was no where to be found.

My family has been camping at Sandlake for literally decades. Its a good spot to teach your kids riding, although over the years it has gotten busier. But we love it & will keep going every year.

Camp hosts were fantastic! Neighbors were very friendly and respectful and the site was perfect. Loved my mini-getaway and maiden trip with the new rooftop tent.

An amazing spot. Not as loud as I expected, nice neighbors and beautiful beaches clean bathrooms and campgrounds.

I love how the campsites are a nice size. Even though we don't have anything to ride in the sand, it is still a nice place to camp. The beach is right there to fish or do whatever you want. Pelican Brewery is not far away if you want to get something to eat and enjoy the scenery.

There were many people driving and riding on the beach, when confronted they came to our campsite and wanted to fight us. Kids were riding and walking through the campsites that were not theirs, most had no helmets on. No one makes campers accountable, its basically a free for all. Not quiet, not peaceful even when you think a walk on the beach would do you some good, you get almost ran over by some idiot who is driving through the snowy plover area!!! Unsure if we will ever come back, we ride, have a SxS and fourwheelers but its just not fun anymore, downright scary and unsafe!!

We stayed at campsite #72. This will be our 3rd time at this spot. Its surrounded by trees on the back side of the campsite which makes it more private. Bathroom is right across from campsite but far enough away no odors. Bathrooms were very clean the whole stay. The camp hosts cleaned them daily. The campsite is huge compared to others I would say about 8 tents could fit there. Limited shade for tents. Quite campsite less traffic as it it in a cold de sac loop in the back. Overall best spot at campground and if you like close to bathrooms and less traffic passing your campsite this is the spot.

Very noisy campground. Great if you like OHV, ATVs or Side by sides. Everyone comes here to ride the dunes.

This is our 5th year coming here with our kids and large family. We have been in several spots around the campground and have been happy with every location. The camp hosts are AMAZING!!!!! Very nice couple that were pleasant to speak with, addressed any issues we found, they came to us for clarification on matters that we did not bring to their attention, and were diligent with defusing problems. This is the only place we feel the safest bringing our kids to. We always make an attempt to visit with Travis, Sandlake Protection Officer, because he followed up with us due to my sister flipping her quad several times 2 years ago. The staff, since then, remembers us and we always make time to visit with them. My family and I are thinking of coming to Sandlake a couple of times a year instead of just in August. This is our home away from home. The campground is always clean and bathrooms stocked with essentials. Thank you for another memorable experience. See you next year!!!!!!!!The camp host installed Starlink at their spot that allows campers to access the internet to make emergency calls only! Besides this, there is no cell service in the campground and you have to travel to sunset hill to get reception!! :)

A great place to camp and drive on the beach but we only came to overnight. The noise was unbelievable from some of these ORVs with modified exhaust systems. It quieted down pretty good at a reasonable hour with an occasional ORV starting up. Not bad for camping in a parking lot.
@AndrewD2287388 · Camped on Jul 30, 2025 at Campsite #76
This campground was a great find at the last minute when all others nearby were full. Don't be expecting a nice quiet stay, this is where all the ATV campers stay to access the dunes. It can be quite loud even late into the night. Besides that we had a great stay. Note: you must reserve online, you can do so at the entrance by connecting to the nearby wifi but otherwise there is no cell service.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
