Campground is excellent. Beautiful location, great site's, not over crowded and camp hosts were great. They also did a great job of keeping everything clean.

WThe campgrounds are meticulously maintained, with the bathrooms being cleaned twice daily. During our stay, the camp hosts diligently mowed the road shoulders throughout the camp. The Camp hosts exhibited exceptional kindness and were incredibly helpful. We wholeheartedly endorse this site for its breathtaking views and ideal weather conditions.

Clean campground but too close to the highway and your fellow campers

Although we have camped in the region of Colorado for many years, this was our first visit to Cayton. It was a wonderful experience with a well managed campground and excellent camp hosts. Camp hosts Sharon and Dale were fantastic. They were very helpful with our camp setup and provided some excellent suggestions on nearby places to explore. They went out of their way to make our visit to their campground an enjoyable experience.

The campground hosts at Cayton were so friendly, helpful and conscientious. They cruised through the campground regularly, letting people know they were available if you needed anything. The grounds and toilets were exceptionally clean. It was quiet (OK, maybe my grandsons were a little loud), the campers didnt display outside lights after 9:00. This is all due to the diligence of the hosts. I hope they come back next summer.

Arrived to Cayton CG for a much anticipated 7-day vacation to discover that our 30-ft trailer (with one slide out) did not fit in reserved site. Thankfully, camp hosts Dale and Sharon were more than willing to help us relocate to another campsite. Their hospitality and positivity helped turn a negative and stressful situation into a win-win solution. In addition, they showered our two granddaughters with lots of love and gifted them with Smokey the Bear coloring books, postcards, and storybooks. Recommended activities: SUP on Trout Lake, Hikes: Trestle Road (Hope Lake Road) and Hope Lake Trail

Lovely campground. We stayed in a basic site which was much more spacious and beautiful than the electric sites. We went for the one hike accessible to the campground. You can walk for as long as you want. There is water available to fill up your rv.

Weve camped at Cayton a half dozen times and always enjoyed it. Weve have better sites than #2 but it is still okay. Restrooms were all well maintained and having access to the RV dump station is a plus. One minor complaint are the other campers driving by our site at excessive speed rising a cloud of dust.
@Elizabeth19E94 · Camped on Jun 22, 2025 at Campsite #2
Wonderful hosts, nice spaced and sized sites. Dirt roads so expect dust but easy to navigate in campground. Road going in needs some work and tight. No cell service in park

The hosts were on top of things and the campground looks great.

Cayton campground near telluride was the best. Our site was just 40 feet from the Delores river. I could see the trout. The cleanest rest rooms Ive seen. The park could not have been better. It took us 7 hours to get to the park, I was beat. I had trouble backing into the site. The hosts were Dale and Sharon. Dale offered to help, got it on the first shot. They helped us numerous times, many thanks

Cleanest bathrooms and camp sites. Camp hosts were very friendly and most helpful.

Beautiful campground. The hosts are amazing. We stayed in loop B. Be aware that sites 23 and 24 are a few feet away. The rest of the sites on that loop are excellent.

1. Camp host were very nice.2. It is excellent that some forest service (including this one) has electric installed. The forest service needs to add this at other campgrounds.3. Most of the site are large to accommodate bigger campers.

Wow. We loved our time here and will be back. Camp hosts were amazing. Bathrooms were spotless. Snag one of the FCFS spots in the back along the river. Privacy and no highway noise w electricity

One of our favorite places. The hosts this year are very friendly and are doing a great job keeping everything clean.

We stayed in Loop A, #6 where we had a view of the Dolores River. Although the space was very near the road, it was the only spot at the end of Loop A. Restrooms were very convenient and were the cleanest we have seen. The campground host was very friendly and helpful. We will be going back!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
