We loved it

The campground was nice, bathrooms clean, and the site we got was great and decently secluded.

My 2-night stay at Spanish Creek lived up to the recommendation I had received that it is the best camp ground near Quincy. The location is exquisitely beautiful. The campground has a day use area that features a large swimming hole great for families, with a sandy beach, shady trees, a rope swing, and picnic tables. The campsites vary in size. All are close enough to the river. Several are right on the river with their own little private sandy beach access. A small walk down river and you will find a series of little white water rapids cascading into smaller water holes, perfect for taking cold plunges and then sitting and sunning on rocks. One of the best features of Spanish Creek Campground is the camp manager, Jay Morris. I've never met a camp ranger more committed to helping campers have the best possible camp experience!

Great location. Nice beach on loop 2. The train was loud at 5am.

This was a great spot. We had three campsites near each other for our group of about 16 (we were gonna cancel to only have two sites but it was really nice having the extra space). The waterhole was beautiful, our group swam and even did morning polar plunges. It was a bit confusing when we arrived as we werent sure if we needed to check in somewhere but the sites had our names on it so we just went and set up. The camp host came around and checked in a few times over the days we were there. The only thing is bring cash for paying for extra parking and firewood etc. its kinda a put cash in the box/trust system. The sites were great and the bathrooms were well kept. The only problem was I think someone decided to toss their fish extras into one of the toilets so about halfway through that toilet smelt like tuna but nothing the camp could do about that. Also its really close to the Twain General Store and they have decision sandwiches and more so if you want to grab some food or little things its not far at all. We plan to come back next year!

A very relaxed campsite beautiful area. The only reason it wasn't excellent was there was hardly toilet paper in the bathroom luckily I bring my own.

Our campsite was adequate. It had good shade and was a little bit isolated from the rest of the campground. You have to park in the street in front of the site as there is no room to pull a car into the campsite itself. There is enough room for 5 - 6 person tent but nothing larger. You can access the stream from the site by walking a bit through some dense vegetation. But you are not on the river itself. Enjoyed the day use area for swimming and rope swing into the water. Nearby Quincy was a cute little town. Local Hikes from All Trails were also good. Spanish Ridge Route. The upper loop was far from the stream but the sites were 10x nicer...paved...larger...recently remodeled. Most of the campsites this weekend had way more than people in them than the allotted max they say can stay in each site. Which degraded the experience. The folks next to us had their generator on 14+ hours per day which also degraded the experience.

We could not get into the campground with our rig and had to go down the road and camp on the side of the road. The entrance was full of heavy equipment and trucks and blocked off for construction and there was no way to safely get in . The campground should have been closed at that time. We want our money refunded.

A quiet, clean place. NO complaints. Our new 'Go To.'The host is also helpful, positive, and that just adds to our experience.

Beautiful campground. Swimming in the creek steps away. I actually like the train that comes through during the night. Camp host kept the bathrooms clean & stocked. All of the sites were clean & well kept. My only thing (which isn't anyone's fault) is the bees are bad.

Pretty good hang out at the river.

This is our favorite campground because usually the facilities are well maintained and we enjoy the swimming hole at the creek and the family friendly atmosphere.This year there were massive amounts of wasps. My mom & I both got stung twice, so I recommend being prepared for that.

I don't understand why this site (loop 2, space 13) has received such good reviews. This is not a good campsite. It's located down in a gully/ravine and the entire site is overgrown with weeds, tall grass, and brush. So much so that I had to hand-pull the high grass around the fire pit or it would have been a fire hazard! The only spot for the tent is on a slope and it's next to a very rocky path (this might be to direct a seasonal stream that runs through the campsite? Otherwise I don't know why those rocks are there, right in the way of walking) that you have to be careful not to trip on. This site is called a riverside site, however, the path to the river was completely overgrown with tall brush, weeds, and grass so thick that we had to use a shovel to hack away the brush so we could get through it! The only redeeming quality to this site is that it is set off a ways from the other campsites, and so it is more private, and that was a huge plus to me. Once we hacked our way through the brush and made our way to the river, we found a nice little private spot on the river to fish, and caught some rainbow trout! This site is good for a couple of people who want privacy and a private spot on the river to fish, if you don't mind the slope for your tent and the overgrowth and having to hack your way through thick brush while carrying your fishing gear and chair, etc. The other campsites on loop 2 were right next to the camp road - I don't know why anyone would want to camp right next to a road, especially in a tent. All in all, the campsite was not maintained well but it's redeeming quality is the privacy and finding that private spot on the river to fish.

The area was fine and fellow campers were respectful. We had issue with the host that was basically non-existent. We went 2 days without toilet paper in either upper loop toilet. The host does not stock firewood (fine) and when asked where we could get some, he said he didn't know. Turns out, it was 20 min away in Quincy, where we had just driven through. The ashes in our fire pit were so high, we felt it was unsafe to use it until we removed a garbage bag full of it after making sure it was all cold. Not sure what he was really doing, to be honest. We never talked to him after asking about firewood during our 5 night stay. So, bring firewood, toilet paper, and maybe a shovel.

This camp ground is lovely, and the river access is outstanding. The bathrooms (pit toilets) could have been better maintained but the camping was terrific. If you don't like loud noises it might not be for you because of the old school train that runs by frequently and makes a loud ghostly noise, but we enjoyed it.

My recent stay at Spanish Creek was really lovely, but I have to say I was really surprised at how few people were at the campground. At least half the sites were unoccupied every night of my stay even though the sites were marked reserved. Also, the bathrooms were either completely out or nearly out the first couple days of my stay. I arrived on a Thursday, roving camp hosts didn't restock TP until Saturday, so definiely bring your own toilet paper! The reservation email states, 'Firewood Bundles are available for purchase from a Campground Host.' but when I saw the camp hosts they did not have firewood, so bring your own firewood too! You can buy firewood at Safeway just 10 minutes away in Quincy.

Campground was beautiful, creek was lovely, enjoyed floating down a short section to the swimming hole!
Reserved two sites (4&2), site 2 was poached by someone with a fifth wheel that told me he was unable to move his rig because his truck can’t move it. He stole my site and I had to find a place to park the two vehicles assigned to site 2… we watched the owner of the truck and fifth wheel take out the Spanish creek sign for the campground and then proceed to wash his truck from the evidence early morning July 3… he said he was kicked out of where he was as living and was trying to make home of the campsite I paid for but I didn’t get to use site 2! It made for a very unsafe sleeping environment.

Expensive for how small the site was.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
