The park and nearby lake was beautiful. My experience at the site was mixed. The park was small and the bathrooms were clean and the camp host was very accommodating when he was there. We were there 6 nights. We also had one child who was disabled and one under 3. Out of the 6 days the host was there 2 nights and the showers were kept locked. We paid for this site just to be charged an extra $5 to shower but they were locked and the host was gone for mult days at a time so we couldnt even shower at all. The temperature there can easily get over 100 degrees so having a disabled child and one under three was very frustrating. There was a number we could call but nobody had phone service out there so that was frustrating on top of it. Im not sure if any surrounding areas have the same situation but I might think twice about returning.

Very beautiful, clean and organized campground. Electrical hookup worked perfectly. Reasonably clean toilets, very clean showers. Would have liked more information on the website such as that there is a loud train barelling by and that the river was dry. But the thing that made this great was the host. He was super friendly and responsive, delivered firewood and provided great information. Definitely coming back.

Clean facilities. I didnt use the showers but nice to have it as a choice. Good amount of shade at site. River was a few minutes walk and good temp. Water is shallow and calm near site, perfect for kids. Host can bring firewood to your site. Train runs nearby but not a huge deal. Really nice place.

Site 17 was easy to level in, and long enough to park our tow car in front of our 28 motorhome. We had some shade, and some separation from the surrounding sites. We enjoyed having an electric hookup, as the weather was hot enough to use a/c. The restroom was very close, but be warned that the concessionaire charges $5.00 to use the showers! There is no RV dump station, and the river is not easy to access, but Hallsted is a pretty campground, and peaceful MOST of the time. There is a noisy train that passes several times per day AND night.

Very nice camp site. We stayed in #14. It was a pull through with electric hook up. We were allowed to pull through with our door opening to our site, which was awesome. Very clean. I never used the restrooms, so I cant tell you how they are.A little disappointed in the shower situation. $5 for 15 minutes, but you have to find the camp host and pay them kind of inconvenient and pricey! Nice trail leading to the river and a nice little swimming hole for some fun in the sun. Camp host was friendly and accommodating. Would definitely camp here again!

What a nice surprise. I usually stay at Spanish Creek Campground (which I also love) but it was full. Found Hallsted and it was close enough to where I was planning to hike/fish so I made the reservation. The host was very friendly and helpful. My campsite (#6) was adjacent to the restrooms but not so close that it was bothersome or intrusive, rather I found it convenient. The restrooms were clean and well kept. The campgrounds were quiet and peaceful (other than the intermittent train going by a couple of times) and there was a short walk to the water which was a gorgeous view. Really happy to have found another lovely spot to camp in this area!

First time with the family camping and it was a relaxing, good, experience. The host was really friendly and concern about guests needs. RV hook ups is many sites. Space is good distance and we had clean bathrooms and hot showers. River is not that far and the kids loved it. We did see big wild cat. Fishes in the river and lots of butterflies that come to you.

We had a great time camping here. It was the first weekend of the season so the hosts were very helpful in moving some built up tree debris for us. He did a lot before we got there. Bathrooms were clean and awesome to have a shower. Be aware there is an active railroad track opposite side of the river. Very loud at the wee hours of the night. Slept with ear plugs after the first night. Overall a great location with plenty of hiking. We hiked Butterfly Valley trail and the flowers were amazing. Next day we hiked an out and back on Cascade. Another beautiful hike. We plan on coming back again in the future.

Our host Deena is so sweet! She sent us texts before our arrival to welcome us and provide us with the weather update as a storm was brewing the day of our arrival. She was available to answer our questions when we were on site and her dog is the cutest and best co-host.We ended up misplacing a pair glasses and asked her to look around our campsite after we left and Deena was so nice to check twice for us.We definitely want to return next season and hope to see Deena again.

By far the most clean and well kept campground we've stayed at. Deena, the camp host, was so helpfull and welcoming during our stay. Even on our way out she gave us a booklet of the NP, some tips on where to go and what to see.It's the small things that really make the difference too. There was soap by the sink in the restrooms. The showers were clean and the water pressure amazing. It looked

We enjoyed our time at the spot we chose. We were disconnected from WiFi, which was what I wanted. There was a very short walk to the river entrance, as well as a 10 minute hike to the nearest convenience store. The convenience store is across from a cute activity area, which has a mini, old-time town built that is interesting to look at. We spent a lot of time in the river and the other campers were very friendly. The camp host provided helpful information via text before arrival and we purchased firewood from her. She was very attentive, always asking if we needed anything, which I appreciated. The things we had trouble with were the meat bees during every meal and in between aggressively flying at our faces and getting into the meals or our plates. A neighbor camper told us he located a large meat bee hive close to the river. Next time, we will bring a meshed canopy, so we can eat in peace. Mosquitoes were a problem too, until we had a consistent citronella candle lit and bug spray on us. There were also some kind of beetles that were attracted to the lights at night and they were on everything the first night.Other than the bugs, there was a train that runs right next to the river and since the campground is also next to the river, the trains loud noise from running through the area at 1:20 a.m. was a little jarring the first night. My husband and grandkids slept right through it the second night though.Overall, we had a great time and made some amazing memories at this campground!

I've been coming to Hallsted for close to 30 years, and it is always well cared for and we love it! This time was a sadly, different... the campground was in absolute disarray with downed trees, branches and debris everywhere! The walkways were covered, the campsites were a mess. The bathrooms looked like they had not been cleaned since last season in 2022. I've never seen so many spiderwebs or bugs. The showers were not cared for. From the time we arrived to the time we left (4 days) we never saw the campground hosts a single time. It was sad to see the condition that the campground is in, especially knowing what a gem it's been in the past. REALLY HOPING this is a result of the host and that they will not be back.

First time there, didn’t know what to expect. Great campgrounds. Clean facility, thanks to Brett “Camp Host”. And thanks to Linda who I spoke to on the phone and help me book the camp site since my reservation was canceled at Queen Lily due to flooding. Great time with family and friends.

A nice place to camp. Very nice hosts. Trouble with trash being picked up. We camped there for 11 nights and the trash was never picked up and smelled so bad. The host even called about it and we did too. Still no trash truck came! Obviously there is no need to use the bear boxes since the bears had plenty of trash to go through in trash bins that were so full the lid could not even close. No bear bothered the trash.

Nice quiet (except for the train lol)campground. Well kept and great shade. 2 minute walk to the river. 5 minute walk to a general store. Biggest bummer is no host for some reason (staffing issues I would guess) Because if this we could not have a campfire even though this is a maintained campground with fire rings. No host = No fire. Really puts a damper on camping. And before anybody starts to talk about the fire danger I lost everything in 2018 in the campfire so I’m more than aware of the risks but we can still enjoy ourselves if people just use common sense. Hoping it’s hosted next time we are here.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
