Very quiet area yet so close to get to from Denver area. Ample campsites for RVs.

Great time. Nice site. The road up to the campground was a bit rough for an RV but we made it. Camp host was attentive and pleasant. Our first time here and finding water was not easy. Park ranger did not know when I called beforehand.

There was no host on the weekend we went. Vault toilets were clean but ran out of toilet paper on the last few days. We had to go to the store everyday since the site lacks water and then toiletries. Fairplay is a 30 minute drive away where you can go to Prathers grocery store for practically everything you might need (ice, fresh water, dog food, food, toiletries, etc). Since a main highway is near the campground, you will get a little noise pollution. Other reviews are correct that sites are difficult to distinguish from one another. It did threaten to rain a few days and then poured rain and hail on us once. Fun Fairplay activities were to visit the South Park old town, Montgomery Reservoir (lots of fishing), and the Silver Scoop Creamery. We may visit again. The noise pollution and lack of host were the biggest letdowns.

The location is close to nice hiking on Kenosha Pass. The lower loop is quieter - the upper loop sites have noise from the highway. Plan accordingly - there is no water at the campground and the restrooms were in need of attention (toilet paper, cleaning) on Sunday night after a busy weekend. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Timberline.

Campground was beautiful and easy to get to from Denver. The sites were pretty close together, but we didnt mind! Would definitely come back here again.

Nice campground. Tons of shade; very forested. Campsites are relatively small and close together - the upper loop looked like it had a little more space. Would return!

Sites by the valley 1-5 have the best views and more privacy, but most sites are oddly configured in a way that is connected to other sites. Bathrooms are dated for forest service pit toilets and the lock is broken in one loop. Some cell service can be found near the valley.

Nice spot with clean toilet. No water, so bring your own. Camp host brought firewood from nearby Kenosha campground the first night which was nice. Else I think you have to go there to get firewood. Campsites are close. Highway is noisy. Occasional sound of firearms. Good location.

Beautiful area, clean sites, quiet, stayed 3 nights. The only negative was the pit toilets. Really need to demo the buildings and replace with newer. showing their age with a lot of band-aid fixes.
A special note on the camping pads and drives: wonderfully level, made our trailer setup much easier

Our favorite weekend getaway. Used to be quiet but it’s busy. Mark the camp host is awesome. Friendly, makes sure everything is clean and well maintained. And great conversation.

Mark, our camp host was great! He continuously checked in on us and let us know when he was leaving the camp ground to go into town for cell service. He gave us advice for starting our campfire after our unsuccessful attempt. The vault toilet was kept stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The only downside was the proximity to the highway. You could hear cars all the time.

Nice clean campsite. Some of the sites the sites are very close to eachother, and not much privacy at all.

Very shady and quiet. We had to drive a little bit to hike, but it was only a few miles in either direction. Great spot.

The camp sites are fairly close together. There was some noise from other camps at night that was inconvenient. The camp hosts were very nice. They drove by just after we had arrived and were informative of current burn restrictions and how to get a hold of certain items. Overall where we stayed was great and we enjoyed our stay.

Great little camping spot near Denver with lots of family friend outdoor activities nearby.

I'll preface this with the fact that I chose this campground because the public road it is on does not legally allow OHV. The first hour was great. Peaceful camp set up; met our camp loop neighbors. Great. Then the neighbors had their kids use the camp loop as a motocross track with their motorcycles. Clearly this was disturbing the entire camp loop. It was somewhere between hour 2 and 3 before I finally had to ask them to have their kids stop with the bikes. That conversation instantly broke down to an argument because the father thought it was OK to let his kids do this. This guy was two shakes from physical violence. His wife calmed him down. This completely ruined our day. We then started to hear nearby ATV engine noise. The adjacent camp loop had in/out ATV traffic the rest of the time we were there. We woke up the following morning to skip breakfast and our second reserved night, pack it up and head down to Denver for a hotel. We came from out of state for that trip. Never will I return to this campground.

This is a good place to go for a quick get away. The sites were a little close together but lots of trees.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
