Absolutely loved this campground. We got site #3 and loved it. Bathrooms available (sometimes the womens didnt have TP, but guests seemed to have contributed). Absolutely loved the river and rock formations. Dont believe the host was there when we were but we didnt need them. Firewood $10/bundle from host.

I loved our campsite #5, the creek, the fire pit, everything but the bathroom, which was so bad!

We were in site #26. This site sits at the top of the campground, so you have a view of most of the campground, but also the stunning vistas. This site does get windy, but is a bit private on one side with several pines between your site and the road. Mostly a flat site. We only used the bathrooms by the walk-in tent section; they were clean. A quiet campground, with good nighttime star viewing.

In general, this is a nice campground but I was at site 16 which had zero shade and thus way too hot to relax. The sites along the creek and the hike in sites looked like lots of fun.

Beautiful location and campground. Highly recommend for family events.

Gorgeous campsite, fun river, very quiet. Kids loved it. Lots of chipmunks squirreling around for food. You'll get your steps in at the walk-in sites, but the beautiful rocks and river at night make up for it. Sites around the loop had very little shade, but walk-in sites were well shaded. Vault toilets were average. Lizard Rock trail has beautiful overlook 2.5mi in for a nice 5-mile out-and-back hike, a bit steep at the end but totally worth it.

One of my favorite camping sites! Great trails. Camps are large and enough space away from the other campers. I would say that the bathroom was not great. Smelled like ten gallons of ammonia was poured into the bathroom. But not there for the bathrooms! Great birding and if you wanted to take a quick dip (a little to cold for us) the water is a few feet away. Overall a great spot!

Beautiful views of the Tarryall Mountains. Stayed at Site 27; likely most private of the sites in this busy little place - flat parking for a van, also. Bathroom was clean and stocked despite the density. Had cell service.

Bring an awning and or a canopy if you're in a campsite numbered above 11 due to limited shade and most of the campsites. Fun tubing is possible but water level is low (9 inches) so you end up having to stand up several times to get down the river. It's a very pretty setting and it stays cool in the shade next to the river if you can get one of those sites. Bear boxes to store your food in the campground were not present but I saw a bear 5 mi north of the campground when leaving, so this may be a future problem.

This is a spectacular campground with all the things you want! A river, rocks, beauty and calm!

Such a beautiful spot! But the camp host was no where to be seen. I booked a bunch of sites for a group of us and only a few actually had reserved signs on them. The rest said open or had other names for past dates. Luckily no one had come and snagged our sites, but especially after planning a trip for a group, it would have been nice to see that our spots had actually been reserved. Toilets were nasty even for pit toilets.

The camp host was "off duty" when I camped Sunday to Monday, and there was no firewood left to purchase which was stressful. I ended up gathering some wood from the trail near the creek so that I could cook dinner, which worked out fine. The site was really beautiful- I had site 19 and it was right alongside the creek. Lots of families nearby so felt safe. The bathroom was not ideal, smelled and had a ton of flies inside, but overall was bearable. I would go back to Spruce campground- the trail towards lizard rock was SO beautiful.

Beautiful sites near River, rock formations and hiking. Most sites are not very level. Vault toilets needed attention. Ran out of toilet paper and camp host not present until last day of 4 days stay.

Overall it was a good time because nature does what its expected to do. However, I never saw the host nor was there wood to be purchased. The camp host wasnt present at all the entire time.

This is a beautiful campground with plenty to explore. Site 6 was my favorite of the walk-in sites - it had plenty of shade and was tucked back from the other sites. I was in site 5, which was also nice, but right on the trail, so it had more foot traffic throughout the day. Be prepared for a lot of families and kids running around, especially near the creek, but I thought it added to the fun and active feel of the area. Will definitely be back.

the camp host david was very friendly, introduced himself, we were very impressed

This is a beautiful campground in a unique setting with stunning rock formations. It has 28 primitive campsites with roughly 1/2 of them just for tent camping. No electric available. Nice flat trailer pads and new picnic tables. Tarryall Creek runs right past the campground and Tarryall Reservoir is only 15 minutes away.

The campsite is beautiful and in a terrific location. However this was only the 3rd weekend after Memorial Day and the pit toilets were actually filled to the top of the pit and into the toilet drop itself.I have never seen such disgusting facilities. There was no way the forest service could have cleaned them this year. They had to have just let them just carry over from last year. They also are not clear on your reservation that there is no potable water at the site.

Our family has camped at Spruce Grove at least 3 times over the last few years and its always a great time. We love playing and fishing in the creek. My son caught his first fish on this trip! Well definitely be back. We have Verizon and had no cell service, so plan accordingly.

Great sites by the river! Had to walk a bit to bring in all our stuff but it was worth it. The toilets were close by but far enough that you couldnt smell anything! The river was very shallow so perfect for little explorers and mud pie bakers. Had cell service which was lovely and the site was spacious and not too close to neighboring sites. The chipmunks were very brave and got into our trash bags and totes. Overall a great experience and we will be back!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
