Jefferson Creek is a lovely campground. It is very clean and well cared for. There is good spacing between sites and most have lots of trees.

Parking close to road but spacious campsite. Clean bathrooms. Kind host. Great location for fishing and adventuring with kids.

Outstanding camping experience! The place was beautiful with lots of wildlife. We saw a moose over at the Beaver Ponds Picnic area! The fishing and trails were so wonderful for my girls. The trail was perfect for the 2.5 year old, she did great on a short out and back. I didnt expect a steep decline and creek at the base of campsite 16, but it wasnt a problem, the kids were very good about staying away from the hill and playing in the wide open back field of the campsite - there was PLENTY of room for kicking a ball around and playing with other friends made at other sites nearby. Well definitely be back for more trails and fishing!

This is a great campground. It has trails right out of the campground. You can go several directions and the CO trail is right there too. It's close to the lake, which is a great little lake. The lake gets pretty busy in the mid morning to later afternoon. But you learn to work around that. I always go over to the lake to paddleboard earlier in the morning and leave when it gets crowded. It was great to see the moose several times. I don't mind the dirt road drive. You get back in there and feel like you have gotten away from the rat race even though you aren't that far from Hwy 285. To me, the extra fee at the gate is worth it. I have some favorite sites but. they are all fine. Some are on the shady side and some are in the sun, but on the creek side.This summer, they had the best campground host ever. The couple was kind and caring. They watched out for the needs of everyone. It was their goal to make your experience better and just help out with whatever need came up. That really helped me feel good about where I was camping and able to truly relax. I would love to have campground hosts like that everywhere.

The scenery around Jefferson Lake is beautiful. The fishing is very good. In the area around the lake are numerous picnic sites secluded from each other to give that private experience.

Nice campground on the smaller size. Everything was clean and well attended. The lake is nearby which is very nice, but it was crowded when we were there on the weekend. It does take 3 miles of a drive on a gravel road to get to the campground.

Flat space for multiple tents at this site was a little hard to find and limited shade during the day, but otherwise we had an awesome stay and the kids had a blast exploring the nearby creek.

Great place to camp, however the lake was filled with paddle boards who think they own the lake. Ruin a couple of fishing lines I had out in the water!

Campground is fairly small, some sites have little separation. Water is from a handpump and it is a work out to get 5 gallons. There was no campground host, so the toilets were dirty. it is a nice area, close to Jefferson lake. The beavers are very active along Jefferson Creek.

Site 001 flooded unfortunately on July 17 which resulted in us having to pack everything up and bail. Every bit of 001 was effectively a deep puddle.Aside from that, the location is lovely, it seems most of the other sites were fine and not flooded. I would do this campground again, though probably not this specific site.I would recommend.

Fabulous campsite although we could smell the toilet when the wind blew in the right direction, which seemed often. Delicious well water!

We love Jefferson Creek Campground. It's always clean and quiet. The creek running near the campground, and plentiful forests around it, are fun for the kids to explore. The trails through the campground make for easy hikes or bike rides. It's also near the lake which is nice if you want to fish or paddle board. Great campground.

Sites were "messy". Lot's of left over trash from last campers. There were a couple of generators that ran "non-stop" for the 2 days we were there. Overall opinion is that we will not return.
@MargaretF43821 · Camped on Jun 10, 2024 at Campsite #7
The campground is beautiful. Unfortunately the camp hosts were completely inattentive. They didnt do any cleaning of campsites after campers left. There was trash in the fire pits, no toilet paper in the vault toilet. And trash left outside the dumpsters was just left there.

Water was not available and camp host was not to be seen.

Beautiful campsite, clean bathrooms, walking distance to Jefferson Lake. We stayed in site 9, and fell asleep listening to the creek behind us every night. Wonderful place, we will be back.

Great experience. Wish the road in was better taken care of. There is only about a mile or two that is rough but it is really rough. Not four-wheel drive rough but uncomfortable for a travel trailer.

Nice quiet campsite with a lot of trees. We had 4 moose as visitors come trotting through our camp.
@LynnF3999647 · Camped on Aug 28, 2023 at Campsite #4
The campground was very quiet as it was during the week and there were only about 1/4 of the sites used. It got down to the 40's at night so we were glad we had a comforter as well as our sleeping bags.

I had the site next to the outhouse, so it was a bit smelly. It was the last site available, had to deal with it. Nice enough campground, bathrooms were reasonably clean, most people were quiet. Saw a moose and her calf walking through the campground one early morning.

I stayed at Jefferson Creek camp site 10. It was perfect! Beautiful scenery and positioned well enough in the trees where you felt like there was sufficient privacy for a shared campground. Additionally there were a few trails that branched from the campgrounds to where you don't have to drive to find a place to hike or bike.
Then two things I forgot to bring and wish I had was a camp chair and bug spray. There were so many mosquitos! However once the fire was started those pesky bugs stayed away. Also if you were moving like walking on a hike, they could never bite you. The camp site was about 15min from Jefferson, CO where there was a general store to purchase items one had forgot to pack.

We were at site #3. It was huge and easily fit 2 very large tents with room for the kiddos to run around. Lots of trees and shade, perfect for hammocks. The vault toilets were very clean and we rarely smelled them if at all, which was a relief because site 3 is right next to the toilets! There are trails to explore and the camp host was very nice and friendly. My only complaint was the tree stump that was behind one of the parking spots....I may or may not have tripped on it a couple times...
I would 100% recommend this campground... especially sites 3 and 4!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
