Very clean campground with awsome views. We stayed in campsite 16 has plenty of room. Next to road but has very little traffic. We like site 16 because not next other campsites and had the best panoramic views.

So beautiful!!! We had a great stay. Awesome view of a waterfall from our site #19. We were across the driveway from the water, but there were access pointed between sites so we got to enjoy that as well. They did have to turn off the water pump during our stay, so might be worth making sure you have some with you!

Great location and Randy the camp host is the friendliest and helpful person you will ever encounter camping.

Fantastic campground. Close proximity to the creek so you can hear running water all night. Walking distance to multiple trails, including a waterfall. Very clean and well taken care of. Will absolutely come back again.

This site has a great view of the mountains and is well spaced from other sites but across the road from the toilets. Unfortunately it has ZERO shade (nor does site 17 where our friends stayed) and it was quite hot in July. Fortunately the camp host was able to relocate us after a night to sites 14 and 12, which were dreamynext to the creek with rapids and shade! Site 14 is at the end so its also more private. But the campground is clean and quiet with immaculate toilets and a superb host who makes you feel like a friend.

We LOVED this campground! The views are incredible, the campground is surrounded by 14-ers. There is a great short hike right across from the campground. We also spent a few hours at Mount Princeton Hot Springs and rode horses and Mount Princeton stables just down the road. We were at campsite 10 which shares with 9 but the site is so huge it's no big deal and it is right by the river. You cannot beat sleeping to a babbling mountain stream. Camp host was awesome and vault toilets super clean. You cannot hear the road from the creekside sites but I think you might hear it some on other sites closer to the road but there's not too much traffic, really, anyway. We were sad to leave but then went over to Collegiate Peaks which was completely different and just as nice. Thank you!

Our favorite campground in Colorado! Clean, friendly (Randy is a fantastic camp host!) and perfect being right on Chalk Creek.

The camp ground is located in an absolutely stunning valley with great views from all the campsites. We are tent campers and the weekend we were there, nearly all the other sites were being used by campers with RVs and generators that ran all day until the quiet hours at 10pm. The noise during the day from the generators was not great. It really took away from the beauty of the location. Maybe this was just an issue the weekend we were there.

Amazing site! We were right on the creek with the view of three separate waterfalls and a short walk to Chalk Lake. Randy, the site Host, was great too! Definitely going back.

The camp host was AHMAZING and our site was just incredible. With a raging river ahead of us and a mountain behind us. Best campsite EVER! Loved it!

First of all, Randy the camp host was awesome. He is very good at his job and truly cares about keeping the place clean. We arrived to a freshly raked and clean campsite. The tent pad was free of pine needles, rocks and sticks and he even raked all the pine needles away from the entire area. He also had some good stories to share and was very helpful with ideas on things to do in the area. The site is next to the river which was awesome and the views of the mountains were in every direction. The bear lockers are convenient, trash bins were close and clean and this place had the cleanest bathrooms of all the campgrounds we've stayed in. Randy even adds solar lights to the bathrooms at night. At this site there was plenty of trees for shade and for hanging hammocks next to the site and next to the river. Firewood was also available from the camp host. If we are back in the area, we would absolutely come back to this campground and site.

We enjoyed our 3 day stay in the campground. Almost all of the sites are good and well spaced for privacy. The ones along the creek offer the sounds of the water as well. The host, Randy, is nice and helpful. Firewood is offered in the campground, I think it was $10 per bundle. Everything was clean and quiet. The vault toilets were kept very clean and very low odor which is a big deal. Proximity to the Mt Princeton Hot Springs was nice, not just for the option to soak, but also they have a great general store with food (packaged/canned items, some basic groceries, coffee, and some hot food llke daily soups and Pizza). The store also sold hats, shirts, sunscreen, sundries and some limited fishing and hiking supplies. They have nice hotel rooms there as well if you like, and a nice restaurant for a fancier meal. It was also a short drive to St Elmo and Buena Vista. We really enjoyed the town of Buena Vista with a great main street shopping and dining scene. Plenty of nice hikes nearby, especially recommend Agnes Vaille falls (the falls can be seen in the distance from the campground!). Beautiful.

Terrific small campground right on the stream and directly across from falls trail.

Wonderful stay, hope to return in the next year or so.

Site 11 is really nice, right by the creek. A bit of a walk from the car for coolers, etc. Fairly close to site 10's firepit, I would try to book them both with friends next time. Close to pottys but not close enough to smell them. All the sites here were nice, they are either by the creek or have big views.

Beautiful location. The camp host is Randy and he bent over backwards to insure that we had a great time! The sites on the creek side generally have better shade. The trip to St. Elmo is a very scenic stretch and was somewhat crowded on the weekend.
@JessicaT451655 · Camped on Jul 25, 2023 at Campsite #13
Idyllic campsite - we loved having the creek right behind us and a view of the mountains on the other side. Site was large, well-kept and very clean, as were the restrooms. And it's so close to lots of other fun things to do - fishing at Chalk Lake, visiting the hot springs, feeding fish at the trout hatchery, St. Elmo ghost town and of course, rafting. Definitely will be back!

Site 10 and 11 a little too close together, but other wise beautiful.

Beautiful campground!! Definitely a 10/10. The host, Randy, is fantastic. Cleanest bathrooms ever! Loved it.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
