The site was flat, more than enough space and the pit toilets were very well taken care of. The smell was surprising in a good way and I was amazed they could be maintained. Our cell phone service with AT&T was very, very slow and data happened sporatically, but could not be counted on at all. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, but my teens would prefer more consistent service.

The camp site worked out fine.

An excellent campground for beginners- lots of trees at every site, clean toilets, easy access to Woodland park (in case you forgot anything), some lovely trails and a stream to check out too. Our site specifically was close but not too close to the bathroom and had some nice flat areas for the tents. Downsides are this campground is right next to the road and the sites are spaced pretty closely together. It didnt bother us though. Great for kids to bike around the loop.

Beautiful campground, nice and quiet. Great location for exploring Colorado Springs. We have a 45 5th wheel and were able to get into site #60 with just a little bit of navigating corners.

Beautiful area, very nice campsite, but some noise problems at night, which is why I only rated it "very good".

Very peaceful, clean site. Helpful hosts. Good stop between Colorado Sorings and Rocky Mountain NP. Nice easy hike along the river behind the campsite

Larry is an exceptional welcoming and warm host. He obviously takes both interest and pride in his role. We always enjoy the South Meadows campground for its clean, well maintained bathrooms, generously spaced sites and beautiful natural environment that gives a measure of a peaceful break.

a nice experience, busy on the weekend and we were almost alone on Sunday night!

I personally called the Pike National Forest ranger station the day before out trip to inquire about the water spigots since this was only the 2nd day that the campground was open for the season. I was assured that all of the water was on. WRONG! There was absolutely no water anywhere in the campground, nor was there water at the Colorado campground down the road that we could have gone to get some. We showed up with no water assuming that it would not be a problem since I was assured that all of the water was on and working. We had to drive into Woodland Park to buy jugs of water for our 3 night trip. I believe this was unacceptable - the ranger station should be aware of what's going on at all of their campgrounds.

We always enjoy South Meadows. Disappointed to find no water available and no heads up from anyone ahead of time.

This is an exceptional campground. The host maintain it very well and are attentive to conditions but not intrusive. Toilets were cleaned and stocked daily. The sites themselves were clean and clearly marked in terms of availability. It is an easy drive into Woodland Park for any supply needs. Manitou Lake picnic are is within easy biking distance with a paved path connecting to it. Beautiful meadows adjacent for walks.

Great location and very relaxing, camp spots are spread out and not right next to each other which gives some privacy. The hosts are friendly and do an excellent job keeping the facilities clean. We love it so much we have been there every year since 2018.

The hosts are the most wonderful caretakers of the land. This is our 5th consecutive year at the site and love how peaceful the grounds are. Weve never found a site that comes close.

It is a nice campground with a lot of space in the campsites. Weird that I was charged a "Early arrival fee" of $10.00 though. There wasn't anyone at our campsite when we arrived and it was clean. However I was charged a fee by the camp host. This has never happened anywhere else I have stayed in Colorado. Overall a good campground though.

Spacious campsites for the most part. Reserve an outside site so as to not face other sites. Front of campground sites are next to the road. Good easy biking and walking path adjacent to campground.

We love visiting this location with our family. The host is very knowledgeable and professional. The sites are very quiet and clean. Its a convenient location to experience getting away, at the same time it is a short drive for supplies or a quick drive for coffee or a meal out.

This is our favorite FSCG in the area. We have been very fortunate to have wonderful Camp Hosts, which really make a big difference in cleanliness of Vault Toilets, etc. Would really like to see more reservable campsites...especially #15 which is the nicest site on the property.Dick Piland

We had a wonderful time at this camp site. The host was incredibly helpful and the sites were beautifully maintained. The bathrooms were clean (no plumbing but clean!). This was our first trip as a family of 4. Our toddler and baby came with us. We werent concerned that our toddler would find anything that wasnt natural. We will absolutely be back!!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
