If you enjoy the sound of birds chirping and the of the rustling of the wind through the trees, then White Star is NOT the campground for you.However, if you like to listen to the non-stop droning of generators at all hours of the day, then this is the place you want to be!I've been coming to White Star for many years, and just in the past couple of seasons, it's been filled with inconsiderate "campers" who can't live without their big screen TVs, internet, and microwaves and insist on running their generators practically non-stop. Do us all a favor and just stay home!

Very nice campgrounds at White Star. All of the sites looked great. Some had more shade than others. Beautiful views.

We stayed at the Valley Campground and found the sites to be with adequate tree shade and far apart to be semi private.

Spacious sites with amazing views. Short walk to the lake which had a nice beach area.

I've camped at White Star for at least 25+ years. The campground has always been super clean. We arrived Monday and Left Friday. This time the bathrooms weren't cleaned from Tuesday thru Thursday Morning. The toilet paper ran out. Someone had diarrhea in the bathroom on Tuesday. Making the experience very unpleasant. Maybe it's the cutbacks?

Campsite itself was great with nicely spaced-out sites and good tent pads. Some of the sites (not all) have incredible views of the lake and mountains, others have a view entirely obscured by the hill that the good-view campsites sit on. 12 would have been fantastic, 13 (mine) had no view. Downside is that fellow campers were clearly inexperienced with some of the basics of primitive-ish campgrounds. I wish these campgrounds had showers and flush toilets because other campers just couldn't figure out how to keep the pit toilet clean and odor/fly free (well... as low odor/fly as you ever get with them). The weekend crowd also didn't seem to be particularly bear aware and were dumping food waste near my campsite (at least it wasn't on theirs?!?). Monday to Wednesday were pretty nice, mostly RVing families with kids. Thursday to Sunday were chaos with a lot of clueless campers who were loud, in really big groups, totally clueless about bear/pit toilets, and just generally disruptive.

This was our second year of hosting a family reiunion at White Star and we absolutely love this place. Spacious camp sites with great views and easy walking distance to the lake for stand up paddle boarding. The camp hosts are incredibly helpful and friendly too. We will be back.

The camp hosts are very helpful and friendly, the campground is quiet, clean, safe and family friendly. I had altogether a very pleasant and restful experience. Excellent time.

We stayed two nights. The first day a family played loud music and had barking dogs that made the setting very uncomfortable. Second night, different family with children who screamed in agony all night. At 3am, I abandoned my tent and drove to another site and tried unsuccessfully to sleep in my car until sunrise. Awful experience. I feel sorry for the other family, but I felt like a refugee fleeing a war zone. No peace, no quiet.

Perfect site! Plenty of room and lots of privacy on the sides, across the road and behind. This was really helpful with our dogs. Excellent views - some of the best in Colorado! You can see part of the lake from the site, as others have mentioned, which was beautiful with dramatic peaks backdrop. Easy walk to the lake on the path directly from the site. The path ends at the dirt road with access to several fishing points and a kayak/SUP rental trailer. We will absolutely stay again!

Somewhere when registering, there should be a place for me to enter my America the Beautiful pass in order to receive the Senior discounted rate. It did not show up and so I paid the given ( (full) price. My friends were able to pay half what I did and Im older than either of them. I requested a refund or credit towards next summer trip, but it was denied. Plus, it rained all week so we left a day early!

Sites are crammed. Hot basin with no views or water access.take is polluted with mine tailing and there is no real shore access. Totally packed. 14 young people sitting around using drugs and being load in a standard site. Left after not being able to resolve group size disturbances with the host due to not being able to find/ communicate concerns with them.

This was an amazing tent site! There was a path right across from us that lead us down to the water and to Angel's Fishing Point. Which is a great spot to post up with some chairs and enjoy the water. It also makes a great area for a launching spot for kayaks and SPB. You can drive or walk. We chose to drive. This site we were across from the restroom and a short distance from the water point. The water point is kinda hidden, but it's down the way. Be prepared that this restroom has no running water, so bring hand sanitizer. The restrooms were cleaned daily by the camp host and were super clean. There is also a trash point around the loop. Be warned at this time of the year that mosquitos are horrible. If there was no wind, they were out and relentless. Overall, it was an amazing location with breathtaking views. We enjoyed Twin Lakes and White Star. We will definitely be back!

We were at site 46 with a tent and a teardrop camper. Plenty of space and lots of shade in the site and throughout the campground. Vault toilets were clean and stocked (women's at least). All the campers who where there at the same time observed quiet hours, which was nice. Great cell service with Google Fi. All in all, really nice facility for basic camping and will definitely visit again!

Spoke to host and switched to 33 in Ridge loop instead of originally planned 24. Had a great experience in camp and the surrounding area. Good shade and some breeze on the elevated areas, seemed like less bugs than the two lower loops.

Campground is well situated - only 5 min drive from the water. Campsites were fairly close to one another, depending on which area of the campground you were on. And bathrooms were relatively clean. Our specific site was not very flat and had no coverage from the sun though. Would consider camping here again if it was a more shaded site as the sun can be brutal in the summer.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
