We stayed two nights on site #11 which was a lake front site. Easy kayak or paddleboard launch from campsite. Beautiful hiking trail around lake of rate as easy. Campsite was very large and spaced out. Bathroom and grounds were checked and cleaned more than once a day. We did not see an available host our entire visit. Close to Leadville which was lovely.

We had spot #6, and it was absolutely beautiful. Lake view, and we are in love with this campground. It wasnt very close to other campsites so that was nice. Cant wait to go back next year

A favorite activity is to go into the town of Leadville and eat dinner at some of the restaurants there. Another option is to drive to Minturn on Highway 24 and eat lunch at the Minturn Saloon.

I am not going to lie-after reading so many reviews on here about the camp hosts, I was a little worried about our trip, since we have two kids and a dog. We had an amazing trip and nothing but very positive interactions with the camp hosts. We were fortunate enough to get one of the campsites on the water. The campsite was very clean and the campground was well looked after. It was great to have trees around to provide some shade and it was a family friendly campground. We will be looking to come back next year and cant recommend this campsite highly enough.

Baby Doe Site #10 was stellar! The site is one of the closest to the lake with gorgeous views and a spacious feel. There are a ton of lodgepole pines that provide ample shade. There are several trails leading to the lake and also around the lake. It's a great campsite to bring bikes. This site is close to the bathrooms and dumpster which made it easy with our kiddos (especially at night!). The flat surface near the picnic table was able to fit a 6-person and a 10-person tent with ease. This place was awesome and we will definitely be back next summer!

Beautiful area and the camp hosts take such good care of campgrounds. I really appreciate being able to camp here.

No water is still a problem. Campground host failed to provide any day use permit resulting in a fine for fishing at May queen campground. Service seems to be going downhill while price rises each year

Wonderful level spot for our 30ft motorhome. Very private with space between campsites and picnic table and fire pit behind the RV in an open area. Short walk to the lake. Facilities very clean. One of our favorite spots.

Lots of shade and beautiful scenery. Clean bathrooms.

Again this year there is no access to water to put out campfires. We have been coming up here for over 25 years and have seen a decline the last few years. I felt bad for the campgroud host as she had to take care of the 50 or so sites by herself. She was very nice and helpful. Its very pretty up around Turquiose Lake but wish they would get the water situation fixed. 4 nights in a tent it's hard to bring enough water.

One of the best camping experiences in recent years! Peace, quiet, no loud people, no bright lights. People were having fun, enjoying playing games, listening to music, and by 10 p.m., all was quiet.

Well-maintained campground with gorgeous views. Great spot for water sports, hiking and/or mountain biking. Enjoyed exploring Leadville and learning about the local history.

The campground was clean and well maintained. You can see the lake from campsite.it will be great if there was water supply.

Beautiful campground on a lake with many things to do nearby. One of our favorites to come to every year.

We love this relaxing local lake getaway! It's one of our favorite spots to unwind where we can paddle board, fish, hike, Jeep and visit a couple cute nearby mountain towns. It's become a yearly tradition to camp at Baby Doe the campground and sites are great.

Many years my family has gathered at Turquoise Lake for tons of fun. Not do much this year. After the slaughter of the forest we still come back. This year no water, which we knew so it wasnt a problem. The camp host we only saw once to collect for extra vehicles. The fire pit was never cleaned out. The vibe was just not friendly.
@JenniferH28313 · Camped on Jun 27, 2025 at Campsite #39
The campground was lovely - we were at site 39 and it felt very secluded. We could easily walk to Turquoise Lake, which really is a beautiful lake. The facilities were as clean as campground bathrooms can be, which was nice. There was no access to water, but the campsite tells you that beforehand so we knew to bring enough water. My only complaint is that there was a wedding ceremony and reception at one of the sites close to us. At first it seemed sweet, but the music was very loud (they had giant speakers) and took away from the serenity of the camping experience. They were respectful enough to quiet down by 10pm, so that's good. Overall, I would highly recommend this campground.

Lovely campground, clean bathrooms, in a beautiful setting. There's a communal pathway to the lake that can be used so you don't walk through the campsites close to the water. Turquoise lake is a gorgeous body of water with an easy walking path on the east side of the lake by the campground.

Our camp host was super nice and informative about the native bear, moose and the lake patrol checking for life jackets, whistle and phone number written on paddle boards.

The campsite was nice and the lake was just a short walk downhill. The views from the beach were amazing. The only negative was that despite having a reservation, someone was set up at our site when we arrived. Both parties looked for the campsite host and for several hours they were not to be found (indicated by a sign on the camper). We were frustrated as we couldn't get into our site and the other party was upset since he had already set up and had to take down. A camp host being available to address concerns would have been helpful. In fact, the sign saying they were unavailable never moved the whole time we stayed and we never saw them. Aside from that, we had a great experience and enjoyed the beautiful scenery at Turquoise Lake.

Was visiting to do a fourteener in Leadville. Really impressed with this campground. Clean and simple. Turquoise lake was also a short walk and just beautiful. Would stay again no problem.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
