The camp hosts are very attentive and friendly. The camp ground was very clean, and the bathrooms were the cleanest we've seen.

Our stay at Baby Doe was the most incredible experience. The camp hosts, Maria and Chris were the hardest working hosts we have witnessed in all our camping. They went out of their way to make sure our spot was the best. When we showed up, we mentioned we needed a couple of extra nights. Maria came to us and arranged for us to stay in a spot that had been cancelled. It was absolutely perfect. Baby Doe has become our favorite all time campground. The hiking around Turquoise Lake is Breathtaking and the Mountain Bike Trails are accessible directly from the campground.

One of the best spots in the campground, the lake views were spectacular. The bathrooms were immaculate, I saw the camp host checking on them at least twice a day possibly more. Wonderful spot near Leadville

The spot and campground were beautiful. Camphosts were great. Too man off the leash dogs and barking dogs though.

We love coming to this campsite. It is beautiful, close to the lake, and has a nice trail for walking and riding bikes around the lake. The site is also about 10-15 minutes from Leadville which is always a fun little mining town to walk around, eat, and shop.

Thin air with a healthy sent of pine.

The camp hosts were great. They were easy to get a long with. did a great job keeping the restrooms clean, driving around frequently, and answering questions,

Baby Doe is a great venue overall. At the edge of the lake, views are beautiful and it's very nice for non-motorized water activities. Good hiking opportunities are a few miles away, 20-30 min drives. However, many of the campground sites are quite awkward to access with an RV, and don't seem as long as listed on the website. Further, the lack of water and lack of a convenient dump station are negatives. Sites are reasonably well separated, but dense forest limits solar gain.

The host and hostess were so very helpful. The campsite we stayed in was clean and was large enough we didnt feel on top of each other

The campground is beautiful and very well run and taken care of by the campground hosts. They were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The water was shut down and we did not see any work being done on the waterlines. We sure hope that there is water next year!

One of our favorite camping places, but so popular hard to get reservations. Campground hosts were very nice and friendly. The restrooms were kept cleaned. Cell service was almost nonexistent.

Great campground but it's problematic that the USFS has yet to restore water and sewage dump at the campground. There are 5 campgrounds in this immediate area with no water or sewer dump. Almost all paid campgrounds provide these services yet the campgrounds on USFS land around Lake Turquoise have not for years. We're happy to pay USFS for camping and contribute to the upkeep of these campgrounds, but having to drive 10 miles round trip to the nearest water supply and sewer dump and pay additional fees is not fair. Where are the camping fees being spent if not to restore services? We see no new amenities, like upgraded picnic tables or roads. Year after year USFS and Recreation.gov advertise these services will be restored the following year, but no progress. If USFS can't provide basic services, the camping fees should be reduced accordingly. Camping in undeveloped camping areas has no water or sewer services available, but is free. However, the undeveloped camping areas in this area are often littered with human waste and undesirable. These are reasons to look elsewhere for paid campgrounds that include basic services.

The campground (and all in the area) no longer have potable water. This needs to be remedied ASAP. Other than that, awesome campground and friendly hosts who keep the vault toilets very tidy.

Very beautiful. Bathrooms pretty clean. Good place to go with the family. Grates on the firepits very helpful. Good fishing right from the shore!

Where is the water. Shouldn't cost go down when facility is not fully functional?

Very beautiful, well maintained, and the camp hosts are some of the best!
@ThomasM8282631 · Camped on Jun 24, 2024 at Campsite #18
People letting their dogs bark early in the morning and running generators were a big minus on the experience. Some people would run their cars early in the morning to charge cell phones or whatever. Should have booked a place away from the center of the camp ground or on a corner.
@LawrenceC94977 · Camped on Jun 23, 2024 at Campsite #12
We love this campground but we feel that they need to fix the water problem so people have access to water for drinking to dowse any fires in the fire pits. The only way you can have water is to bring your own.

We track all the sites so you don't have to.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
