One of the best camping experiences in recent years! Peace, quiet, no loud people, no bright lights. People were having fun, enjoying playing games, listening to music, and by 10 p.m., all was quiet.

Beautiful campground on a lake with many things to do nearby. One of our favorites to come to every year.

We love this relaxing local lake getaway! It's one of our favorite spots to unwind where we can paddle board, fish, hike, Jeep and visit a couple cute nearby mountain towns. It's become a yearly tradition to camp at Baby Doe the campground and sites are great.

Many years my family has gathered at Turquoise Lake for tons of fun. Not do much this year. After the slaughter of the forest we still come back. This year no water, which we knew so it wasnt a problem. The camp host we only saw once to collect for extra vehicles. The fire pit was never cleaned out. The vibe was just not friendly.

The campground was lovely - we were at site 39 and it felt very secluded. We could easily walk to Turquoise Lake, which really is a beautiful lake. The facilities were as clean as campground bathrooms can be, which was nice. There was no access to water, but the campsite tells you that beforehand so we knew to bring enough water. My only complaint is that there was a wedding ceremony and reception at one of the sites close to us. At first it seemed sweet, but the music was very loud (they had giant speakers) and took away from the serenity of the camping experience. They were respectful enough to quiet down by 10pm, so that's good. Overall, I would highly recommend this campground.

Lovely campground, clean bathrooms, in a beautiful setting. There's a communal pathway to the lake that can be used so you don't walk through the campsites close to the water. Turquoise lake is a gorgeous body of water with an easy walking path on the east side of the lake by the campground.

Our camp host was super nice and informative about the native bear, moose and the lake patrol checking for life jackets, whistle and phone number written on paddle boards.

The campsite was nice and the lake was just a short walk downhill. The views from the beach were amazing. The only negative was that despite having a reservation, someone was set up at our site when we arrived. Both parties looked for the campsite host and for several hours they were not to be found (indicated by a sign on the camper). We were frustrated as we couldn't get into our site and the other party was upset since he had already set up and had to take down. A camp host being available to address concerns would have been helpful. In fact, the sign saying they were unavailable never moved the whole time we stayed and we never saw them. Aside from that, we had a great experience and enjoyed the beautiful scenery at Turquoise Lake.

Was visiting to do a fourteener in Leadville. Really impressed with this campground. Clean and simple. Turquoise lake was also a short walk and just beautiful. Would stay again no problem.

Site 40 was a nice site, however we did end up getting some fumes from the restroom at times. Besides that the campground itself is stunning, the bathrooms clean, sites are well enough spaced a part and we really enjoyed the quiet for the first time in a really long time. Will be returning however might try and secure a site further from the restroom.

The camp host did a fantastic job of making the rounds and keeping everything clean and tidy. Of all the campsites at Turquoise Lake, Baby Doe is my favorite!

This is a fantastic place to come and hike or sit on the shore. Just make sure you are prepared for temperature shifts

We have been going to this camp site for 30+ years and we have never encountered a host as disrespectful as this one. We witnessed first hand her racial profiling the guests next to us. That was very sad to watch, and be a part of.
@Christoph81424 · Camped on Jun 1, 2025 at Campsite #16
Great campground, though we were frustrated that the water spouts were inoperable, and apparently had been for over a year.
@johnc3063297 · Camped on May 30, 2025 at Campsite #6
The hosts kept the facilities very clean (bathrooms were constantly being swept/restocked). The campsites were large and plenty of space between us and the other campsites. Great location and view of Turquoise Lake.

Clean sites and bathrooms. Short walk to the water and the views were amazing. No food lockers to protect from wildlife but we put our food in the car with no issue. Will definitely be back when I can paddle on the lake, it was a bit windy this early in the season.

Amazing site (13). Lakeview and access. Loved the hiking and biking accessible from camp site. Paved road to and through campground.

The camp hosts are very attentive and friendly. The camp ground was very clean, and the bathrooms were the cleanest we've seen.

Our stay at Baby Doe was the most incredible experience. The camp hosts, Maria and Chris were the hardest working hosts we have witnessed in all our camping. They went out of their way to make sure our spot was the best. When we showed up, we mentioned we needed a couple of extra nights. Maria came to us and arranged for us to stay in a spot that had been cancelled. It was absolutely perfect. Baby Doe has become our favorite all time campground. The hiking around Turquoise Lake is Breathtaking and the Mountain Bike Trails are accessible directly from the campground.

One of the best spots in the campground, the lake views were spectacular. The bathrooms were immaculate, I saw the camp host checking on them at least twice a day possibly more. Wonderful spot near Leadville

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
