Great site and host was very good. The site was clean along with the restrooms.

We picked our spots based off the location of the playground and restrooms. Ive camped at those spots since I was a child and my children absolutely loved it last year. We were very disappointed when we arrived to find the bigger playground was no longer there. My 6 and 8 yr old daughters got out of the truck and said Thats not a playground! Last year they spent hours playing with their friends, this year there was just a tire swing type thing, and climbing thing and a rocking seat (both for little little kids). A heads up when we booked in February would have been nice so we could look at other spots or go somewhere else all together

Beautiful campground at the lake. Downsides are boat access is not limited to lakeside campsites. You could book a site months in advance then arrive and not be able to swim, fish, or put in your own boat at your site because other people are using it. They can even walk right through your site to get to the water. Theres also no specific decibel maximums on generators. You could have neighbors who run loud generators 16 hours a day. If those two things were adjusted, the campground would be 5 stars. Good enough bathrooms, gorgeous views, and many larger sites. Oh the skunk infestation continues to be an issue. We couldnt stay up past dark without skunks coming into the site and not being deterred by us.

I have been coming to this camp ground for 30 years. Im 38 now and this trip was the first time i took my wife and kids whom never been camping. It was wonderful! such nostalgic memories! The only downfall i would say is that they are way to many skunks there now than there were in the past.

Great spot and the showers were nice and clean. The people at the front desk were very nice and friendly.

The camping was fine. I recommend adding more electric sites. I would also recommend boats not allowed to park in the designated beach areas as swimming or fishing becomes too difficult or impossible. Thank you!

We thought we had a decent site with shade after switching from original site that didnt meet our requirements, but after the first hard rain our site turned into a river of mud and areas all around the camper had water laying everywhere for 3 days before it started drying up. The site needs major renovation with more gravel put down for starters. There are a lot of areas in the campground that need repairs but that doesnt look like it is happening.The bathrooms are horrible looking with peeling paint and rust on all the stalls. Apparently park maintenance is no longer a priority. We have been camping at this location since the early 80s and this was the most disappointing stay we have ever had.Also trying to modify reservations when you are already at the campground is almost impossible online and also getting a human to answer the reservation line -98 minute wait time?? The office staff are limited with help because of lack of access also. If you are already at the campground with a reservation the staff on site should be able to help make changes if needed to simplify the process.Recreation.gov needs some serious help!

Our campsite was quite muddy as it had rained quite a lot prior to our stay and the mosquitoes were terrible. Out lot could have used additional gravel and the camp hosts said they planned to make some improvements to the lot as there were deep ruts from other campers using the yard to back into their lot across the road. We like the campground a lot and love having lake access but we may choose other sites in the future due to the extreme mud at both trips this summer.

We stayed in the pine Loop under the trees. Always a delightful experience. There is enough room between every campsite so that youre not on top of each other.

Great family time with 4 generations Crew did an excellent job getting campground ready to open after a long delay due to eagle nesting in the area

Ive been camping there all my life. Everything was good, except for the mosquito part. It was so awful we all got thousands of bites. We left a day early because we cant stand it.

The electric hook up was very poor with the breaker blowing at least 4 times per day and a wasp nest inside the breaker box which stung me several times during the week we spent there. we had to run our generator several times because of the breaker keep tripping. I am handy capped and we were on a handy capped site. We won't be back

Aside from all the bugs it was a great experience. My 2 grandchildren were bit all over their bodies. We even bought bug spray for the ground and their bodies but still kept getting bit. I think since the grass was not cut much before we got their due to the eagles nest the bugs were worse than normal. But the kids enjoyed riding their bikes and swimming in the lake. Very nice place to camp

First, this is a great campground, nicely wooded areas, clean and surrounded by the lake. That said, I wish they could add some more restrictive rules regarding generator usage (or maybe open up more sites with electric). We've had several visits somewhat ruined, where we tent camped at one the nicer lakeside lots (43) and had a large camper right beside us that ran one of the loud generators from morning until quite time. I'm not blaming them, because again, it's a nice site and they really didn't break any rules, but maybe rules could be added to limit usage more or the sound level of the equipment. Thanks

I thought that the shower house closest to the GLOO area had been remodeled and it hasn't been. It may be clean, but it looks disgusting. Other than that, the campground was excellent. Friendly, helpful camp hosts, nice camp sites.

Such a beautiful view of the lake. My 2 year old loved it. We fished right from camp too!

Overall a good campground. Good facilities and my site was just what was expected.
@BarryA3600B238 · Camped on Jun 20, 2025 at Campsite #38
The sites are too hard to back into with a large rv, due to the drainage ditches and the site posts. The trees and shrubs all need trimmed. And the sites need more gravel. They also need more electric sites.

Overall it was a good experience. Disappointing that several areas of the campground are closed.... not sure what bird species is being protected?

Due to flooding, we were forced to move twice. When they asked if we would move a 3rd time, we packed up and left. However, the rangers were very informative and were always available for questions. I have been going to this park for 20+ years and these are some of the best rangers you have had. They took care of getting our refunds in order as well. If it wasn't for the weather and having to move twice, I would have given my experience a 5 star.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
