Loved the campground ,the host were friendly, and ontop of park activities. Great boat launch, big campsites.However being an out of state visitor, I brought my pontoon. I WAS STOPPED 2 TIMES IN 3 WEEKENDS ,ON THE WATER BY THE WATER POLICE . I BELIEVE I WAS BEING PROFILED BY MY OUT OF STATE ,BOAT REGISTRATION NUMBERS. NOT COOL .

We recently had an incredible and relaxing camping experience at Shenango Recreation Area Campground, and I cant recommend it highly enough! The entire park is well-maintained and thoughtfully managed.Our campsite was spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The picnic table and fire ring were both in excellent condition. The level gravel pad wouldve made setting up a camper effortless, but since we were tent camping, we used it as a picnic area under our canopy. There was also a level grassy area large enough to comfortably fit two tents.The restrooms were among the cleanest Ive seen at any campgroundodor-free, well-stocked with toilet paper, and clearly cared for. However, there were no paper towels or dispensers, so be sure to bring your own or be prepared to air dry your hands. The showers were hot with surprisingly strong water pressure. Only on our last day did I notice a minor drainage issue during a shower, but it didnt detract from the overall experience.One of the highlights was how peaceful the nights were. Quiet hours were respectfully observed, and the gentle sounds of crickets and a crackling fire made for restful, uninterrupted sleep. We also appreciated the presence of park rangersthey were friendly and helpful without being intrusive.Whether youre a first-time camper or a seasoned outdoor enthusiast, Shenango Rec Area is a true gem. Clean facilities, respectful fellow campers, quiet nights, and thoughtful upkeep made this a truly wonderful trip!

Shenango was a decent campground. It seemed a little neglected for a Corps Of Engineers park. The bath houses are in need of updating and should be cleaned daily (there was a sign on the door stating they were only cleaned periodically). The grounds were in fair shape and the grass was newly cut. This park is in a nice location, but it seemed pretty clear it is need of some funding.

Nice quiet park, could use a little updating to the shower houses but overall would stay here again.

When we arrived no one was at the gate so we went to our campsite and setup our camper. We drove to a hiking trail and when we came back the gate was staffed by a campground host. This particular host did not welcome us or offer any help so I just said we were going back to our campsite. He asked accusingly where our car pass was as if we had committed a felony. I told him when we arrived there was no staff at the gate and we didn't know we needed anything. He went into the office and retrieved our site pass and parking pass and told us to make sure the parking pass was facing the correct way because he "hates" when people put them the other way. We went back to our site and then went kayaking. Had a great time paddling across the lake. When we were pulling our kayaks out on the FREE public launch that can fit probably 3-4 boat trailers across we had a random guy come up to us and say "I don't want to be that guy, but" you shouldn't use the boat launch for kayaks. Now if there would have been boats lined up waiting to get out we would have found a place along the shore to get out and carried our kayaks, but there was literally one boat getting out with tons of space in between us. I asked the guy if he had to pay for the boat launch, knowing that it was free to the public, and he said "That's the great part about this place, the boat launch is free to everyone." My point went right over his head and I just let it go. Other than the difficult people we encountered the bathrooms are extremely out dated. We will not be going back to Shenango campground.

Site #39 - great lake view and we actually had perfect weather.It would be great if you could eliminate the skunk problem.

Nice campground with electric only sites in some of the loops. The showers are dated. I'm sure they're clean, but they don't look it. A trip to Handel's ice cream was a highlight.

Relaxing and peaceful in the day. Watch out as soon as it gets dark. Skunks invaded. Every single night. No food out but they swarmed our site. We had kids so it was very hard to enjoy a fire when the skunks came and we had no choice but to go inside the tents.

We have camped at Shenango for forty years and love the campground. There us a major skunk problem there now. It is hard to even sit at your campfire because they invade your site. Unable to cook anything after dark and you really have to be careful with your pets. That us the only issue we had.

Nice place. Wish they had more electric sites. And a small convenience store.

The campsite was nice and shady. It was not too far from a restroom. There was enough room to put up 2 tents. It was nice and roomy, not feeling crowded. We just could not enjoy a fire at night because of the skunks. Was not able to make moon pies. The kids were disappointed. There was one skunk that was mean. It came after me and chased me into my tent and then scratched at my tent. But other than that, I had wonderful time.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
