Lakeside Campground in Bryan County is located 44 min north of Sherman, TX with an elevation of 634 feet. There are a total of 140 campsites including 4 tent-only sites. The campground is open all year. 132 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 35 and 90 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 132 sites have electric and water hookups. 1 site has electric hookups. 4 sites have water hookups. Fees range from $16.00 to $50.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, boat ramp, flush toilets.

The updated loops D thru F at Lakeside are really set up nice. We stayed on number 22 right along the water and enjoyed the view. Only drawback to this spot for us was how far forward the concrete patio was. Needed one farther back for our steps to hit it right. Maybe next time we will book the right setup as many others would have worked better for us since I am needing a new knee. Would also be nice if fire pits were cleaned out better. Ours was full to the top.

The site was solid. Nice flat area and hook ups worked great. The bathrooms on the other hand were not great. The adjacent one was a chemical (non-flush) bathroom which is fine but not well disclosed on the website. I would not have set up next to there if I had known that. More importantly though, the further away bathroom that presumably had the showers were locked throughout our stay there which is honestly unacceptable. TLDR: great camp site but don't expect to shower.

The site did not not have a working electric electricity hook up. Other than that, the view was lovely.

The fishing was good when we went in November. The spot we had was nice. No problem booking. We enjoyed it.

The park was well kept and nice scenery. The only thing negative is there are no full hookups and if you are going to stay for an extended period you will have to make arrangements to dump your tanks.

As the A loop had only recently re-opened, there were few reservations for the period I was there. I had the entire loop to myself for most of a two week stay. Quiet, shore birds, gorgeous weather. Site 7 has immediate access to the shore and is ideal for kayaking. There was notable damage from the spring flood, especially to trees. Lakeside is a well-run park and always a great camping choice.

Need a map. There are 2 Lakeside campgrounds on this lake. The one I showed up to was on the north side and abandoned. Then I found out the real campground was an hour south the opposite direction. Ended up leaving and not staying here at all because of the lack of a map and backtracking I would have had to do.
