We love Powell and have a long history of camping there. A good friend was the district ranger there when power was installed on loop A. If I had a suggestion it would be to reduce the number of FF sites on loop A from 10 to 5 as most everyone wants power for CPAP machines and AC. I know funding is tight (I was FS for 33 yrs), but if funding became available I would suggest putting power on Loop B.

Great campground. We have stayed there 4 times on trips to Montana and are always happy with what a nice experience we have there. We look forward to our next visit.

Powell is a great place to camp along the Lochsa River and the having power is great!

While we only stayed one night, I would highly recommend this campground. Our site (17) was paved, level, and had electricity and a nearby water faucet. They also had clean bathrooms with flush toilets. Some of the sites had direct river access.

Ample camp spot, clean facilities, and great access to the river. Looking forward to returning.

Huge campsites. Flushing toilet by the kind host. Resort lodge a short walk away. Don't hear much at all from the road. River is beautiful. Can't wait to come back.

Nice, large campsites, well spaced - we had a river running right behind our side of the road with trails from each site. Would definitely stay here again.

Always like to camp here because of the electrical hookup and we appreciate the paved interior roads and units. We spend much of our time here pulling/digging and burning the knapweed and thistles. This is such a beautiful campground I hate to see it being taken over by these weeds

We have stayed at this campsite several times but never had such a great experience with the camp hosts. As we pulled in and got parked my husband was setting everything up and a little dog approached me and wouldn't leave. I tried to find the owner and couldn't so I took it to the host. He found the owner just as trees were falling in the campsite from a wind storm. They were very good about keeping everything safe while cleaning up a major debris. They waived and said hi everytime we saw them. We will be booking again here in the near future!

Not bad but you can do better. This campground is in an area where there has been a lot of bark beetle devastation. Parts of the campground are okay but some of the sites and the area on the south side of the river have had a lot of damage. If the wind blows you can hear dead trees fall. No potable water during our stay. Not much to do here either. You can go to Lolo hot springs but thats like a lot of other similar places that are worn out and they cant afford a remodel. There are better places along the Lochsa and fortunately we found one. Sites are kind of close too. No idea about how the cabin or restaurant stack up.

Very clean campground. Potable water was not available due to water system repairs, but the website made that known prior to my trip.

Spent a rainy night at Powell and loved it. Spacious sites, lots of big cedars and a lovely river.

We stayed in Spot A026 9/6/24. I was pleasantly surprised by the 20A, 30A and 50A outlets in the box. The downside was the huge water puddle and muddy mess in the front of the spot. Spots 26 and 28 are just a few feet downhill from a water spigot. Because the spigot is not a threaded faucet, a lot of water is spilled or runs on the ground from folks filling fresh water tanks, etc. That water runs through the front of spot 28 and goes a short distance downhill to the front of spot 26 where it collects in the low section of the road and forms a pool of water on the driveway side of the road and is driven through by everyone. There is nowhere for the water to go so it forms a big muddy mess across the front of spot 26 and spot 28. We had to walk 15 or 20 feet into the next spot to be able to cross into the road without walking through the mud at the end of Spot 26. There had not been any rain for awhile prior to our arrival. Zero cell reception and zero OTA channels.

This used to be a great campground! It appears there is a lack of current staffing. There had been a major wind event and the cleanup was haphazard at best and in many areas unsafe.. The restrooms were disgusting. They were filthy and unsanitary with clogged toilets, urinals with the porcelain gone and no toilet paper.The bear proof dumpsters were abused and no longer bear proof. There is a noxious and invasive weed infestation that is untreated. This whole experience reflects poorly on the US Forest Service!

Was 0leased that "standard electric" included 240V 14-50 service.Also enjoyed a great dinner at Lochsa Lodge less a few minutes' walk away.

Nice campground, good river access, quiet and scenic. Popular ORV area, Recent wind storm affected access to L/C hiking trail.

Despite several trees felled by serious wind storm before our arrival, the A loop camp sites were cleared and ready for guest campers. Campground was full, and B loop filled over the weekend. Big storm Monday night after we arrived, but no more damage and no new fires.

The campground was tore up by a major wind storm two weeks earlier and the camp spots were not very well cleaned up. The toilets weren't maintained and there was no camp host to clean them or maintain the campground. Someone would come around once a week and put some TP in the toilets, but other than that nothing was done in the campground.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
