I love Powell. I always seem to get a spot when I want one. The Lochsa Lodge is in close proximity along with shower amenities and a general store with just about everything you might need, including hose clamps!

It was a nice campground next to the river. We had a tent but could only book an RV site, which I've discovered rarely have a good spot for a tent.

Campground needs maintenance, fresh gravel around campsites and fire rings, downed trees from last years wind storm should be removed or blocked up for firewood, and toilet paper supplied for flush toilet facility

We love Powell and have a long history of camping there. A good friend was the district ranger there when power was installed on loop A. If I had a suggestion it would be to reduce the number of FF sites on loop A from 10 to 5 as most everyone wants power for CPAP machines and AC. I know funding is tight (I was FS for 33 yrs), but if funding became available I would suggest putting power on Loop B.

Nice, large campsites, well spaced - we had a river running right behind our side of the road with trails from each site. Would definitely stay here again.

Not bad but you can do better. This campground is in an area where there has been a lot of bark beetle devastation. Parts of the campground are okay but some of the sites and the area on the south side of the river have had a lot of damage. If the wind blows you can hear dead trees fall. No potable water during our stay. Not much to do here either. You can go to Lolo hot springs but thats like a lot of other similar places that are worn out and they cant afford a remodel. There are better places along the Lochsa and fortunately we found one. Sites are kind of close too. No idea about how the cabin or restaurant stack up.

I have been camping at Powell for over 20 years and love it, but camp sites are in dire need of maintenance including sanding and repainting picnic tables (I painted table this year in site A025), and gravel around fire rings, and plant 3 to 4 foot trees replacing ones that have died which I think the Forest Service could supply from one of their nurseries. Thank you.

Beautiful campground. It was nice to have the Lochsa Lodge to eat at as well.

This is such a nice campground. Next to the river and easy to get to. The whole valley is beautiful. It is kept clean and they have FLUSH toilets.

This campground is great, it's right on the river and within walking distance of the Locsha Lodge, which has great food and drinks. Our site had an electricity hookup which was perfect for the trailer. The campground is a 15-minute drive to Jerry Johnson hot springs and a 30-minute drive to Weir hot springs. Both are a must if you're camping in the area.

A lot of smoke in the air from nearby forest fires literally clouded the experience a bit but the campground itself was wonderful. Our particular site was right on the river. Bathrooms (both the hole and flush types) were clean. Definitely will be returning to Powell.

Great spot but lots of traffic due to proximity to the lodge

We stayed in A24. It was very private and we enjoyed the short time that we were there. Because of Covid, we did not use any of the facilities. Would stay there again.
