Nice big shaded sites. Great to have electricity in a national forest campground. The campsite was clean and generally well maintained. The hosts were very friendly and had lots of good local information. Bottom line, a great place to camp.

Nice sites, flat and mostly private for a small-ish campground. Flush toilets, electrical hook ups, picnic table, all well-maintained. The river runs nearby, birds chirping. Many campers are there with off-road vehicles. Apparently there are miles of dirt roads to explore. They can be a little noisy, but not bad, no one tearing through the campground. Biggest complaint was the mosquitos. Bug spray was applied and problem solved.

Nice campground overall. The proximity of Lochsa Lodge restaurant, general store and Sinclair pump is great since there aren’t any services for many miles. The general store has a pay phone.
The sites themselves are pretty small, especially on the interior circle of sites. Many of the lower level sites, like ours which was A16, are on a grade and it’s difficult to set up for tent camping.
Bathrooms are relatively clean but there was no liquid soap, just a very worn bar of soap.
Now that I’m better prepared, I’d camp here again.

Nice clean campground. No hosts this year, but the ranger did come through each day.

We were unable to get one site reserved for our entire stay and had to reserve two sites with a move of the trailer half way through. The camp host was more than gracious in alleviating the pain of switching a complete site after being set up for several days by providing a better solution. We were updated daily by the camp host on road closures, fire activity and other important news vital to our location of recreation. That was very helpful!

One of the best things about Powell Campground is its proximity to Lochsa Lodge. In addition to the access to all the outdoor opportunities the area has to offer, the campgrounds closeness to Lochsa Lodge offers a respite from cooking and an opportunity for socializing that most campgrounds do not offer. We will keep coming back to Powell Campground again and again!

Love the location. The nature. The Beauty. River was phenomenal. Was only there a short time, and had a blast!!

Only drawback would be no showers.
