First time at Frog Lake and it was a fun trip! The lake is nothing special but Clear Lake and Trillium are close by. There was still people fishing and in inflatable boats on the lake though. Lots of baby frogs along the shorelines and saw a bunny as well! Site 16 was a pretty big spot. Could fit 2-3 small tents if needed and plenty of room for two pick up trucks. It has a path at the back of the site that leads to the lake. Its across from the bathrooms and dumpsters so I imagine it could get smelly if there was no wind. Water access is a few spots down. Unfortunately there was a fire ban but we still had lots of fun!

Host was great. Sites are large and have plenty of room for tents. Site 16 or 18 back right up to the lake, so if youre able to reserve those its nice. The campground uses well water which has to be hand pumped. Be prepared to use a good amount of arm strength and energy to get water when needed and possibly two people. Well was right at my site and we watched repeatedly adults struggle to get water so often helped.

I recently stayed at Frog Lake for the first time. The site was pretty flat and included a picnic table and fire pit. The bathrooms were vault toilets but were surprisingly very clean and didnt smell. There are no sinks to wash your hands in the bathroom. At the campground you can buy firewood for $10 a bundle. They have potable water with a pump which can be hard to get started (use those muscles). There are no extras should you want ice or a store but honestly there is a gas station not too far away down the mountain should you forget something. From the campground behind site 15 is a path down to the lake which is maybe a 5 min hike. The lake is shallow but great for kayaking. There are millions of little frogs and butterflies to catch and look at which was perfect for my toddler. Getting into the water is a very muddy experience and a bit gross but the view is fantastic. The campground itself wasnt too loud but I did visit during the week and not weekend. There is no WiFi or showers as a heads up.There are however sooo many bugs. I brought anti mosquito repellant, candles, sticks and nets but they still seemed to be on us quite a bit. There is also a lot of big random beetles.

Frog Lake Campground was not a very pleasurable experience right from the start. The road from the parking lot. Area to the actual campground its like through a field where bombs had been dropped due to all the deep large potholes necessitating a speed of 0 to 1 mph if you wanted to preserve your vehicles, integrity. Absolutely the worst that Ive ever seen.Prior to our arrival we tried to contact the campground with a couple of questions. The main one was availability of water. We never could get an answer on the phone, however, went to the website and had a map of the campground which indicated many water icons throughout the loop around the campground. We have a small 25 foot trailer and it holds 60 gallons of water. Much to our disappointment there were no water spits throughout the campground and in fact the only water was available from two different antique lover operated pumps like you would see in an old Farm. Ridiculous. we shortened our five days stay down to three days by just leaving the campground.If anyone is thinking of booking a campsite at frog Lake, you ought to somehow find out if they have repaired the road and also be sure to fill your water tanks to the brim before your arrival. Good luck

We camped at frog lake for first time for 3 nights in mid August (last year we only got to use day area, thats why we decided to try camping following year). Unfortunately this is the season of fire ban.Easy to navigate to from Hwy 26. Road is very bumpy.Our site was #21 which was pretty good, has direct path to the lake, many trees to hang hammocks . Bathrooms are super clean and well maintained. This campground has well water that you need to manually pump. Couple points about the water, its hard to pump it, need to have several pump attempts before water starts flowing, well by site #21 has non-clear water and I had doubts about using it (see picture). I was getting ready to go to closest grocery store to buy water but noticed the well by hosts site produces crystal clean water. Keep that in mind.VERY IMPORTANT: if you are a light sleeper, take earplugs, hwy26 traffic will keep you awake

The water pump was too hard for me to use. We had to go to another campground to get water. The lake water was very silty and the lake floor was very squishy. The campsites were very large and spacious. The view was beautiful and the wild native blueberries were fun.

Nice clean campground. Loved the shaded campsites. Host, Andrew was exceptional. Very informative and sociable. The road into the campground is very rough though.

Nice rustic campground. Dont expect to access the lake from the campsite, it is too shallow to launch a kayak near the campground. you have drive around to the West and South side of the lake for better water access.

Camp hosts were very nice and keep the restrooms very clean. Well water came out brown, Recreation.gov says potable but we didnt risk it

Overall the campground was clean and could easily access the lake which was beautiful. The restrooms were very basic but clean. Overall pretty close to what I expected for a campsite with no hookups etc. No frogs unfortunately. It was pretty cold for summer.There were a couple yellow jacket nests around our campsite. One of my kids and I got stung about 5 minutes after arriving. The water was very difficult to manually pump from the ground. I was expecting a spigot which I've seen in most other campsites. This was very old fashioned.I also booked a site paying very close attention to the map. I have 2 little kids that just wanted to go to the lake all day so I booked what I thought was a site closest to the lake but it was about 5 or 6 spots away from the one I booked. Not sure how that happened.

I have to say that I love Frog Lake, it is one of my favorite places. But camping here really bummed me out. The bathrooms were a gross mess with garbage overflowing, the dumpsters were the same. Hopefully next time it will be better cared for.

No cell phone! Yeah!!! Osprey catching fish daily. My granddaughter having the time of her life. Rustic campground.

Frog lake, well was quiet nice and quiet, except for some campers, but thats expected. This is only getting 3 stars due to the amount of bees at our site. We think there was a beehive on site but we couldnt let camp host know since they were never on site when we were there. Also, would have been great to know that frog lake was extremely low. Pavement in needs redone big time and bigger arrows to campsite. But other wise was good time.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
