The overall experience was a 4.3/5. The road gets a one star rating, the staff get five stars. The lake is heavily used and people are messy. The view from the day use area is outstanding.

Host was great. Sites are large and have plenty of room for tents. Site 16 or 18 back right up to the lake, so if youre able to reserve those its nice. The campground uses well water which has to be hand pumped. Be prepared to use a good amount of arm strength and energy to get water when needed and possibly two people. Well was right at my site and we watched repeatedly adults struggle to get water so often helped.

Frog Lake Campground was not a very pleasurable experience right from the start. The road from the parking lot. Area to the actual campground its like through a field where bombs had been dropped due to all the deep large potholes necessitating a speed of 0 to 1 mph if you wanted to preserve your vehicles, integrity. Absolutely the worst that Ive ever seen.Prior to our arrival we tried to contact the campground with a couple of questions. The main one was availability of water. We never could get an answer on the phone, however, went to the website and had a map of the campground which indicated many water icons throughout the loop around the campground. We have a small 25 foot trailer and it holds 60 gallons of water. Much to our disappointment there were no water spits throughout the campground and in fact the only water was available from two different antique lover operated pumps like you would see in an old Farm. Ridiculous. we shortened our five days stay down to three days by just leaving the campground. If anyone is thinking of booking a campsite at frog Lake, you ought to somehow find out if they have repaired the road and also be sure to fill your water tanks to the brim before your arrival. Good luck

This is a delightful campground with a good location for exploring Mount Hood. The lake is small and shallow but good for children. Expect some muddy areas. The campsites are mostly pretty spacious. Restrooms were clean. Nice hike to Twin Lakes is nearby. Nice view of Mount Hood from the Day Use Area.

We brought a large group during Covid. Non-family members had to sleep in their own tent. We had multiple sites. Camp host exceptional!
004 - next to Camp Host. Large - fit 4 tents - good mix shade/sun- next to only working water pump
005 - across the road from Camp Host. Large - 2-4 tents. Shady.
007 - very small, culvert in camp site, shady with some sun
006 - very sunny, fit two tents, next to pump
011 backs to 017, easy to walk between without going through other people's sites. Both sites good mix of shade and sun.
033 - large site - two to three tents - across the road from the bathroom - shady
032 - large site - three tents - shady
031 - large site - three tents - shady

Multiple bathrooms buildings with pit toilets - but very clean and not smelly like some can be
Bring large water containers, maybe with wheels? Or a wagon to haul your full containers.
Sites on the lake side get only a moderate view of the lake. The lake was farther from the campsite that I thought it would be. I suspect the water fluctuates with run off and at times the water is closer to the campsites.
There's a lake traill on the south end of camp
Lake is very shallow for most of it with deep parts on the south end near the public boat ramp. Only non-motorized boats allowed.
Very muddy, soft clay mud on the shore and lake bottom - but a nice lake for canoes and floats and swimming if you're okay with mud between the toes.
Had cell service (all carriers) in the public parking lot at the top of the hill. Some (Sprint, ATT) of us had service at the lake.
