The restroom was cleanish, but it felt old and as if it only gets cleaned once a week whether it needs it or not. The campground was perfect for our little dome tent and the trees were close enough to rig up a fly for us to cook under...because it rained on us the entire time. We didn't mind, we were mostly dry all night.It was first come, first served for spots since we camped at the beginning of October.Highly recommend Cougar Rock when it was after school started back...can't speak to it during peak season.

Ive never had a bad camping experience but our neighbors absolutely destroyed this trip for us. They decided to park in our campsite which at first isnt a big deal I thought it was weird they waited until we walked to the bathroom to make the move. Its that they were in and out of their car opening and closing every door multiple times like they were making sure they still worked. Then theyd start the car opening and close the doors some more and then drive away. The first time was a bit annoying mostly confusing but its happened several more times all after quite hours and every time theyd shine their headlights directly at our tent and wake us up. After the third time I tried to confront them but they sped away in their car when they saw me approaching. The facilities themselves were great bathrooms clean garbage picked up I wish there was a way to get one of the rangers involved with ridiculous behaviors like this late at night.

Great campground! Was grateful for the first come, first serve protocol in the fall. Josh and the rest of the camp managers were very helpful and friendly, and made our stay a pleasure. Everyone was super considerate and friendly, except for that one couple with the fussy, loud child at 12am, but, hey, can't win them all, so bring ear plugs!

The campground is nice, facilities are adequate and its in a great location. the sites are a bit close together here but I didnt mind. We car camped for one night and had no issues.

Beautiful area. Water available at common spigot and bathrooms were good. Campsite was small but sufficed as we didnt spend much time there during the day. Campground was only partially open due to time of year. Campground location was convenient

Took one or two different hikes/walks every day. It was great.

I was lucky to snag this spot in the late evening when it was on a first come, first served basis. The site is small, as the tent pad had enough space to fit my 2-person tent comfortably but that was it. Any larger of a tent could be an issue as there's this random log that's standing up-right on the site so that cuts off part of the available surface area. Maybe if the 4-person tent faced the cars, then that could work to get in/out of the tent. In addition, there are about 3 steps up from the car area to the tent pad. The restrooms are close, but not super close as the closest one is in Loop C. Other than that, the spot was great!The pictures make the driveway look big, but I would say it could fit a 4Runner from a length standpoint before parts of the car start sticking out into the road.

This is a very pleasant campground to stay at when you visit Mt. Rainier. We are able to get a campsite in the shoulder season easier than in August.

Many, if not most, of the sites are not level. It was challenging to get our camper van reasonably level. And there is no WiFi coverage in the campground - you need to get near a visitor center to get coverage.

Cougar Rock campground is a cute campground in an awesome environment. However, sites were generally not level, no services, no dump or potable water fill. There is no cellular service in the area and because of the tree coverage, solar and Starlink are problematic. The campground does offer small bathrooms with flush toilets, utility sink, bottle fill station and bear safe food storage.

We were fortunate to get a first come/first serve spot in September. The ranger was nice and super helpful. And the campground is lovely - spaced out well, amazing trees, unique sites throughout. We'll be back!

Not sure why 3 loops were closed but got the last site on a weekday in mid-September and we barely fit.

The Rangers were super friendly and helpful. The campground and facilities were great. It was nice to have so many hiking trails to take right out of the campground plus the short drive to Paradise to hike the trails up there.

Great campsites. Clean and quiet. There were no gender neutral restrooms which would have been nice.

Camped at a first come first serve site in mid-September for two nights. Easy reservation process with the Visitor Center the next day (we came in after hours). Limited sites open that time of year, but great to have several restrooms in each loop and nice, quiet sites while visiting the park.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
