This was a nice camp with a great view of the mountains. The only thing I didnt like was the loud music coming from a group of teenage boys that didnt even bother to clean up their site before dusk, beer cans all over their site.

Beautiful campground, well maintained facilities with flush toilets and a water bottle filling station next to the restrooms.

Great campground! Enough room for one standard 4-person tent but not much else.

Clean. The Rangers were super helpful and friendly.We used a first come first serve site, and while the entrances posted a sign saying the campgrounds were full as did the sign outside the campground, there were still a handful of sites left for us to choose from. The signs were a bit misleading. Regardless, we enjoyed our stay.

Great Campsite!! I have camped in all 3 national park campsites in Rainier and its difficult to pick which one I love the most. We were a group of three and we found a walk-in campsite on Thursday morning.

Nice campground with good location within the park. Bathrooms were good but could use some hangers for towels and toiletries while using the restrooms.

Not a good campground, and not a good site. Down in a whole, Up against other sites. Overall the campground needs a lot of work. Dump station is not working, no water for filling tanks. Dumpster enclosures falling down. sad

Campsites are small. Cant beat the location!

Wonderful space! Bummed that there was a fire ban, but made it work. Lots of space. Not as much privacy, but would rather be here than at a hotel. Close to some of the trails, which was great!

Cougar Rock was a great home base as we explored Mount Rainier National Park. I would return there if I was interested in that part of the park. The park is so huge that I would probably try a different campground just to explore a different area. But Cougar Rock was close enough for us to hike at Paradise Inn and Longmire Museum areas. Beautiful waterfalls everywhere along the wonderland trail.

Cougar rock is a gorgeous campsite that features everything you could ask for aside from a shower. You cant go wrong with a single one of the spots and the view is gorgeous, even more gorgeous if you choose to do any of the hikes in the area! I love MT raineer and this campground definitely does it justice.

Great place to camp with a nice hike across the road, wonderland trailhead.
@JunoVAFA615C44 · Camped on Jul 13, 2025 at Campsite #B11
Excellent campground! There was a large group of kids with some teen or young adult chaperones taking up a lot of the common space including the street. Aside from that, the campground was perfect. The sites are spacious and everything was clean and well-maintained. Will return!

Lovely campsite and easy to access from the park entrance. Bathroom facilities were well maintained and it was a perfect place to stop for an overnight to spend some time at Rainier!
@MarciaB2991474 · Camped on Jul 13, 2025 at Campsite #C23
Very large campground. Site C23 was private, very large, and across from the restroom. I would book this site again. Also, two good trees for my hammock.
@CaitlinC9A6C38 · Camped on Jul 13, 2025 at Campsite #B1
Perfect campground with beautiful views. It was great being so close to the Paradise area. Very close to the Longmire area as well with a gift shop and restaurant.
@RolandC58E58FD · Camped on Jul 10, 2025 at Campsite #D1
Excellent rangers and clean bathrooms at a quiet and beautiful corner of the world!
@KathrynG296075 · Camped on Jul 10, 2025 at Campsite #C33
Cougar Rock is always a great place to stay when we go to Mt. Rainier. It is centrally located between Paradise and Longmire so it is very convenient. Don't miss the trail from Cougar Rock down to Longmire and back up - it is a great way to end the day.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
