My husband and I had a great time at this camp ground, there is a great hiking trail that goes around the circumference of the site. Some spots are better than others for sure, but we liked the D loop the best because it was so grassy and private. The process getting there was very smooth and bathrooms and water stations were a short walk away. I would definitely recommend this campsite.

Campsite was good, staff was great. Bathroom is a bit on the small side for a group site (2 stalls + 1 shower on the mens side). The location is great for group trips into the DC area.

Setting is lovely and was close to home for us. Each campsite was overgrown with poison ivy and ticks were falling out of the tree over our picnic table onto us. Between the poison and the ticks we decided it was not worth the risk so we packed up and went home. Definitely dont come here with dogs! We spent the rest of the evening at home picking ticks off of them.

This park is definitely a good place to stay when visiting the DC area. I was amazed at how big and remote feeling the campground is. It is more than a mile off the road back into the forest--a huge forested oasis in the middle of the DC area. While the Greenbelt Metro Station is pretty close, it takes 15 minutes or so to get there. We bought the 3 day unlimited pass to the Metro to get around and the campground was a great base. Highly recommended.

Although it rained the whole time I camped (which meant lots of ticks everywhere), there was so much to see and do in the Washington DC area. Also, there was plenty of shopping nearby in case I needed anything.

Dont know what others complained about, we very much enjoyed the campground. Spacious sites (loop D), nicely wooded. Bathroom was very clean during out stay. But I DO agree with others on one point: firepit / grill ridiculously high. Ranger seemed to agree! Close to shopping / supermarket / gas station / target. Will stay again if going to MD / DC area.

We have stayed at Greenbelt several times. We love that its close to a metro station and also appreciate the simplicity of the campground.

Lots of ticks... grass was high. Overall we had a nice stay.

Great nature get-away while close to everything. Quiet. Well maintain hiking trails. Clean bathrooms. The roads in the campground loops could use a bit of work. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

Easy access to the city, but we loved being able to slow down at our site after a busy day. Campsites are spacious and quiet. Kids did the jr Ranger program and the rangers were great! Was a hidden gem that we almost missed- great spot to be if youre looking to camp near D.C.

Very nice park in such a hustle bustle area.very clean and well kept trails. you could hike all the trails in a day if you really wanted to but 2 nights is perfect for enjoying the time here.

Quiet and well maintained with easy access to the restroom.

Great place to stay. Many parking pads are level, all are shaded and close to sanitary facilities. Rangers are helpful. We've stayed here many times over the past couple of years and never had problems getting a reservation in Loop B. Our Class-B Sprinter is self-contained so we can get along fine with no electricity or water at our site. Easy access to ,shopping, DC attractions, and Greenbelt Village.

Definitely the best way to came in nature so close to Washington D.C! My eight year old is ready to go camping again at the same site.

The rangers were all very nice.Almost ALL of the water faucets were broken or leak a lot.The bath rooms and showers had cob webs hanging around window hardware and air vents and there were broken tile.The dump site concrete was baddly cracked and broken.

I loved it. An oasis in the city "desert". No hookups, but trees everywhere. Dark and quiet. Peaceful.

It's nice to have the park as an option to stay when visiting the DC area. The Park beats staying in a hotel! Easy access to the Metro for traveling into DC. We NEED our Federal Parks! Hands Off, they belong to the People to use.

I called to double check what the expected late night arrival procedures was, and the person who answered the phone, I believe Caroline was her name, was incredibly helpful. Clean grounds, bathrooms were clean, and arrival was seamless. I look forward to camping out in my van again

Park rangers were fantastic, not all restrooms have showers, but they do exist. Bathrooms are slightly outdated, but that's somewhat to be expected, they are functional though. Would definitely stay again. It was great to commute into the city. Would definitely recommend.

Well maintained and a perfect basecamp to make a long march into the nation's capital and protest. First Amendment! A good march (hike) route is Kenilworth to Bladensburg to West Virginia. Incredible!
@BenC2118977 · Camped on Feb 16, 2025 at Campsite #73
Poorly maintained trails. Trees blocking access. Garbage left in campsite which I had to clean up.
@JeffGF8725B40E · Camped on Jan 31, 2025
Great stay, hot shower, super helpful camp host and clean facilities. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. A very good deal for $20 per night.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
