Site 36 was nice. The shower house and park for the kids were right by with a walk across the road getting you to water access. Complete hookups too, including waste.

This campground is awesome! It is clean. It's secluded. There's not a lot of traffic in and out of the campground and not a lot of traffic on the water. The park ranger was really nice. The town of Council Grove is adorable. There are a handful of shops and restaurants downtown. The town also has a Dairy Queen and a Pizza Hut. Things to note about site 12: it faces due East. There are plenty of trees surrounding the site from all sides. We were completely shaded all day. We actually moved to this site from site 10 because of the shade. There are no neighbors to the north or the west. Across the street from the site (west) is a large open grassy lawn. The vault restroom is about a 30 ft walk from the site. Trash cans are about 50 feet. There are also horseshoe pits. Backing in to this site can be tricky as the driveway from the road sloped at just the wrong spot for us to easily unhitch our truck. In no way is that a deal breaker. It was easy to work around. Just something to note. The view is stunning. The shoreline is covered in large rocks but completely accessible for fishing. There is a boat ramp nearby. We used it to launch our paddleboards. The lake was experiencing some flooding so the boat ramp was mostly underwater but worked for our purpose. This is a great campground and a great site. If we are in the area again, we will definitely select this location again.

This campground is awesome! It is clean. It's secluded. There's not a lot of traffic. Easy access to the water. The park ranger was really nice. The town of Council Grove is adorable. Don't sleep on this campground! Things to note about site 10 is that it faces due East and there are no trees to provide shade from the West. The site is sunny all day. Otherwise, the view is beautiful. The lot is huge! It is directly across from the restroom which is handy.

It is an amazing cove to camp in with serval sites that has open view of the water. I love this lake and I don't think I have had a bad experience yet!!!

Love this campground. Lots of campsites are close to the water and you can fish from the bank. Extra bonus is a cover over most of the picnic tables. Very quiet and peaceful campground. Well be back!!

Campground was clean. The sites were level and paved. Great view of lake. Sites were also spaced out so it didnt feel like you had a neighbor. One of the nicest campgrounds weve stayed in.

Council Grove Lake offers a great experience for campers. It is in the Flint Hills right outside of a great small community with easy access to shops, restaurants, and even a brewery. There is a trail head to the Flint Hills rail trail here as well, which is great for a day hike and bike trip. The campground itself is clean and safe and most sites are on the water or have a water view. The biggest negative is that it is often very windy. This is just a part of the geography but plan accordingly. There is plenty of campground walking and biking. The site itself(site 1) is a great site, somewhat more private than others. It has lake views and access for floating, kayaking, and fishing. The pad of this site is concrete but some others are gravel. Highly recommend Council Grove Lake and Canning Creek.

We loved everything about it. Will be back. Only drawback is it closes in winter. We travel all year and dont need facilities. Would come back in winter if it were open

My favorite camping spot at Council Grove Lake. Quiet, secluded, easy water access.

Lots of sites along the water in the campground. Generally well kept. Southern winds pose a problem for boating, and the shores are very rocky, so not great for swimming. From dinner time to 10:06pm on Saturday, the folks at site 16 decided the entire campground needed to hear bar-level volume and terrible karaoke, completely ruining a quiet and warm evening for the entire campground. We need more enforcement!

Beautiful well kept campground. One recommendation is to have a dumpster for the trash not trash cans.

I would have given an excellent review but I dont want the secret of how wonderful this lake is to get out.

The group site and shelter building were well maintained and clean. Plenty of tables for everyone to sit, cooking areas were clean. The trash was picked up daily and the guy was pleasant and friendly. The restroom closest to the site was clean when we arrived on Thursday. It was not cleaned or stocked during our four-day camp even though a sign on the building said it was cleaned daily. On Saturday we stopped the Ranger and asked for someone to stock the toilet paper as it was out. It was still out when we left on Sunday. Our group and several of the single sites used the restroom and shower, so it was often busy. At $110 per night, it doesn't seem too much to expect a clean and stocked restroom.

Clean individual restrooms and shower room. The electric campsites still need boat docks to keep your boat in the water overnight.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
