Mound Valley Campground in Montgomery County is located 1 hr 23 min west of Joplin, MO with an elevation of 856 feet. There are a total of 84 campsites. The campground is normally open from the end of March to the beginning of November. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 14 and 90 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 46 sites have electric and water hookups. 28 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $14.00 to $76.00. Some amenities include shower, swimming. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Enjoyed the campsite and the views. My only complaint is that the only one of the 3 womens shower heads worked very well, the locks on mens and womens shower doors didnt work, and both the shower rooms and the bathrooms looked like they havebt been cleaned in years (except the actual toilets were surprisingly clean).

Beautiful. Peaceful. Nearly level pad. Water at every site. Path down to waters edge. Park attendant even brought a little firewood when he made his rounds. Will return.

As we read the information for Mound valley we understood that there was Water and Electric at the sites we choose.This was not true as some sites had water and some did not. but all had electric. To me this information was not clear on your web site.

First there was no water at a fifty amp site. Really!!! To many sites without water. Very good shade. The weeds and underbrush does not need to be there It would a much better place if it was cleaned up.

Spacious shaded sites. Mid week very quiet. Our site was very sloped, but many were level.

We were reserved in site #47 which would've been great for a TENT! We could NOT get our small trailer anywhere near a spot even close to level and ended up going home. The next day our friends called and said there was an empty spot quite a bit away from our group, but available. We booked it and drove back up, the site was nice...just not near our group. Wecouldn't find anybody at an office so we just cancelled our original site then reserved the new one. We only lost the one night, but probably wouldn't have happened if someone was manning the kiosk!

Excellent campground; well maintained, friendly hosts, great full hookups! We didn't get to fish or swim but will next time! The swimming beach is the best I've seen!

Park is very clean. Sites we have used are very nice and level. Facilities are very clean and kept up and the camp hosts where very friendly and helpful.

Some beautiful camping spots at Mound Valley! Very peaceful and serene. Good views of the lake as well. Probably the only drawback was the shower situation. No showers on our loop. Had to travel to another loop for a shower house. Otherwise very good stay

Beautiful campgrounds and awesome sand beach!!! - Love the area. The lake is a bit crowded with trees but if you follow the buoys you'll be fine. - Will definitely be back :)

We camped in location #50 of the Mound Valley Loop. Good location with lots of shade. We camped Monday thru Thursday, so there wasnt a lot of traffic which we really liked. We had electric and water hookups which was very convenient. Camp host staff talked with us and asked if we needed any help with anything. They were very kind and helpful. We had a great experience.

The campsites were very spaced out. This site specifically was a little sketchy to back into as its downhill and you have to back around a curve kind of, but once youre in its great! I loved the multiple levels, and it has a little unofficial trail down to the water which was AMAZING. We were able to lay our baby down for a nap and still take the older kids to swim because we had a direct view of the camper and could be back to it within 30 seconds. The only downfall was that due to the multiple levels, there was no breeze near the picnic table area

Just a over night tent camping trip but we had a great time. Had super nice neighbors and that made the stay that much better. Campground was clean, restroom and shower was good, scenery was beautiful with great weather. You really can't ask for more.

Site were a little rough looking- weeds knee high and washout spots.. the beach was nice but again the washout to the water made a huge step yo drag cooler up or down.

This was a nice spot. Theres no water at the site but there is water nearby if you need it. A quiet area for a relaxing weekend and the beach was nice to go to as well.

Great experience. Only stayed for a single day/night in the middle of a trip, wish we had longer. Our site was near a pond and the lake which made it very picturesque and vibrant with the sounds of nature. Other campers were quite and respectful.

Camp ground's are over run with weeds obviously the company that has contract to mow are lazy or just don't know what they are doing cause it's in the worst shape i've ever seen!!! couldn't hardly find the fire ring because there was so many weeds around it.

Love coming to Mound Valley. Been coming here for over 35 years. It's only two hours away from our home. Sites are nicely spaced apart with plenty of trees for privacy. Easy access to the lake so we can park our boat along the shore. Good fishing from the shore or from the boat. Nice well maintained boat ramps with wind protection provided by the dam. Exceptional sandy swim beach. Nice paved roads throughout.
