North Overlook Camp in Marion County is located 53 min east of Des Moines, IA with an elevation of 818 feet. There are a total of 49 campsites including 6 tent-only sites. The campground is normally open from the end of April to the beginning of October. 43 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 46 and 84 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 43 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $14.00 to $20.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, playground, swimming, amphitheater. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

I absolutely loved this location. I had a level site on the water and it was so peaceful and quiet. I have a good T-mobile signal.

We had a great campsite right by the bathroom that backed up to the woods. Only negative thing about the spot was that you could often hear people on the trail, and the noise from the road was pretty substantial during peak hours.

We really like the new shower rooms at N. Overlook. They were a comfort when a severe storm blew in on July 10th with high winds. The siren was barely heard, but the ranger driving through the loop several times, lights flashing, speaker on with storm warning was appreciated.

My husband and I had gone tent camping for our honeymoon and it was beautiful. The bathrooms were close and we had an amazing view! The campground is very clean and kept up to date.

The North Overlook campground is a well-kept, easy to access, quiet campground. The bathroom and showers are clean. Water fill and dumping convenient. The campground is close to a beach, hiking/biking trails, golf, and Pella and Knoxville for small-town exploring. We will camp here again.

Very clean campground. Restroom/shower were kept very clean. Really enjoyed the stay. The water source was only on one side, my camper fills on the other, appreciate when it is available on both sides. Great access to a walking trail inside the campground.Will definitely reserve here again.

Campground is nice. The showers and bathrooms are very nice and clean. The noise from the highway next to the campground is bad. I prefer to camp where its quiet.

Very lovely spots that are mostly level with hard surface to eat and gather around the fire. Lots of trees for shade and the hiking/bike trails are so close. The map and pictures dont do this campground justice!

Can't believe the campground hosts skipped out and went home two days before the park closed. I needed firewood and nobody was home... no vehicles in host sight. Othewise we live approximately 80 miles west of Omaha and were on our way back home with plans to stop and visit with our olders daughter and family in West Des Moines. Love North Overlook and Howells Station. We make plans to stay when we are in the area. Some pads need extending as they are short and rough for longer Motorhomes and RV's, but the park is nestled in nice oak trees and our stay was very comforting. Love North Overlook.

Site has good views of the lake. Nice level site Has long bike trail but it is very bumpy Bike to town around 5 miles

Loved every minute of it- the trails-it was peaceful-enjoyed watching the squirrels-the lady at check in office was awesome-well be back
