Heavy snows hit and could not camp.

We loved our site # 61...which was a total gamble made on line...but the view of the spectacular granite mtns right out our Class A window was fabulous! We will be back and stay at #61 again! But the "creme de le creme" was finding Convict Lake Restaurant!!

The wind blows, but the sites are spaced very well, giving lots of privacy. The fish were biting, and the grounds were very clean.

Our second time staying at Convict Lake. First night we were in site 35; second night in 69 (we couldn't secure two nights in a row in the same spot as I reserved last minute.) The setting couldn't have been lovelier. Quiet and picturesque. The bathrooms are clean and lit inside at night. There were two camp hosts for the entire campground and both extremely friendly. One night we ate at the Restaurant at Convict Lake (highly recommend). Deer, squirrels, and chipmunks abound. Not sure we were watching a hawk or a golden eagle in the distance. It was just big and graceful. We learned that a bear broke into the vehicle in the campsite next to us the night before we got there. The door was unlocked and automatically closed behind it, so it was trapped. Comical, yet frightening. Never leave kibble in the car! Camp host to the rescue. Sorry we missed that (or am I?). Can't wait to go back next year.

A beautiful lake, lots of space between sites, and clean restrooms. No shade, but perfect for October. I'll be back!

We resreved Site #38, which ended up being a shared drive, not large enough for 2 trailers side by side and this was not specified on the site information. The camp host was able to move us into another single site which fit very well.

A fantastic campground with a great fishing lake.

Be sure to allow time to circumnavigate this beautiful lake! Note that in early October at the east end, there were lovely multiple creeks flowing into the lake without benefit of a bridge, so be prepared to cross on logs & beams. Our last night we decided to walk to dinner via the gorgeous winding creek and crossing the bridge, then up a slight hill to The Restaurant at Convict Lakea beautiful walk followed by a delicious dinner! Be sure to make reservations prior to your trip, since there is no cell reception at the campground.

Its always a pleasant experience at Convict Lake. Camping near the stream is a plus. Watch out for the pesky bears !

Thieves camp here. Snuck into our site and stole our paddle boards. Managers didnt seem to care. No warnings that this was a possibility. Convict lake has changed a lot over the years. It attracts the scummy crowd. Would have been better off dispersed camping off Benton.

we came at the height of the Garnett fire with air quality 300 plus and with no improvement in sight. We left after 1 night

This was my second time at Convict Lake and it was amazing once again. I had #63, it seemed to have more privacy than other spots. The grounds are clean and kept up well and everyone is friendly. I was able to ride my bike to the local store for supplies, and did I mention the hot showers ( for a small fee). I like the food options, a Restaurant and a bar area as well. The Lake, trails and many activities are all a BIG PLUS for me. I will definitely be back next year for all the Beautiful surroundings .

Great location and site spacing, bathroom situation was rough
@GunnarH5BCF3FF · Camped on Aug 21, 2025 at Campsite #17
The bathrooms were porta pottys and it was more desert than we were expecting. We were not a fan and ended up leaving instead of staying the night. Zero shade and very hot.

One of the best campgrounds I've been to. The only drawback was the restrooms were out of order and we had to use a portable bathroom which I was not a fan of especially since this is also one of the most expensive campgrounds I've been to.
@TroyHB6683E9BF · Camped on Aug 20, 2025 at Campsite #86
What a beautiful place. The deer were comfortable with people and seemed even somewhat curious.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
