The site is beautiful, plenty of trees and very calm. We love it up there. We dtayed in campsite 12. The only issue we encounter was the following: the tent area is a compacted sand enclosed by metal barrier. Due to heavy rain it flooded and the rain has nowhere to go and it pools inside that sandbox. We had three inches of water under our tent. The hill above our tent site cause a stream of water to pour directly into the tent site, making it worse. I was able to divert the water away from the tent site but the water still pooled on the tent site. We had a great time though. All I would suggest is to create a water exit so it doesn't pool inside the tent site. Although we booked for 2 nights, we stayed 1 and left following morning due to more heavy rain.

This is a really beautiful campground with very good facilities except for the outhouses which were full of flies. We liked this campground a lot. There isnt water, so bring your own.

The site had a beautiful view, although the site reservation card had not been updated and someone was in the site. The folks in the site were friendly and moved. There was no Camp Host on day 1 to get the card updated. The site had not been cleaned up, dog feces were at the site that we had to remove and trash in the fire pit. The worst item was the overwhelming wall of flies in the pit toilets. These toilet facilities had not been cleaned in a very long time.A camp host drove by an ask us about the site and updated the card on the second day and they did not seem to have the automated information available. Because we ran out of insect spray for the pit toilets and the overwhelming flies in and around the pit toilet we decided to leave two days early. A very disappointing experience with the lack of camp host and overwhelming flies in and around the pit toilet

Great campground, disgusting vault toilets. Bring a can of RAID unless you want hundreds of flies between your legs as you do your business.

The scenic view and sunset was breathtaking. Depending on your camp site, be prepared for a workout due to steps, you are on a hilltop. Be prepared there is no running water. Sanitation put a damper on my trip and the flies that were in these structured porter pottysOn a positive note its picturesque, peaceful, great location, easy access to any area on the mountain.

Hilltop is a lovely campground, well maintained and en excellent place to get out of the Vegas heat. With only 35 sites getting a spot can be tricky, 1/2 are FF, the rest reservable. All sites have paved parking areas, some of which are quite shallow, youre right on the one-way campground road. Quiet time is 10pm, while we were there a university research group was there in numerous spots, they celebrated loudly until well past 10. But, we can all remember being young and enthusiastic! Very little cell service, but Starlink worked great.

Hilltop campground is a beautiful escape from the Vegas heat during the summer months. But without a camp host there are groups who come at all times of the day and night for a free place to party. I chose to leave my campsite for a night when parties came in at 10 pm blasting their music.

Picnickers are here every single time. They take up sites, pay no fee, blast music until way past midnight, then leave before the rangers come by in the morning. This happens every single time. We need someone to check on the site throughout the day to keep picnickers out. The word is out, this is what they do over and over again. They know there are no repercussions so they continue to do it. I am getting pretty fed up with being kept up half the night by partiers that didn't even pay for a site, who then take off and leave a mess. Every single time. You would think by this point you all could have formulated a plan to take care of this. It ruins the camping experience for those of us with families who pay for our sites and are trying to experience our beautiful forests and outdoors. Please do something to address this problem. Thank you.

It's not bad for Mt Charleston. I prefer McWilliams, but this one is fine. Only complaint is the bathroom is a long long walk.

Quite a few squatters occupying the empty sites. This made me feel uneasy that such campers exist in the camp grounds. I noticed there are people waiting for the Park Ranger to complete rounds in the afternoon and move in, and occupy the vacant sites without paying. Since there is no Camp Host, nobody checks on peoples reservations after the Ranger takes off.

The view from our site was extraordinarily beautiful. The campground was quiet and peaceful. The outhouse was reasonably clean despite comments from previous campers. We would definitely stay here again.

Great campground. Nice views. Spots are far enough apart. Clean bathrooms.

We stayed there about a month ago and found the bathrooms were despicable, nasty and smelled horrid. We decided to give it one more time at Hilltop and this time the bathrooms were a little better, although one was okay and one was very unclean. If your going to have a nice campground like this, you better start paying more attention to the bathrooms so people want to come back. There is nothing worse than bathrooms with feces on the toilet, on the floor, stinky and fly infested. Please take our advice and know we just want to see it improved, because we love it up there and the campground is one of the nicest on the mountain. Thank you for taking our consideration. HIlltop is a great place to escape the heat of Las Vegas and just sit and soak in the views. There are also lots of different trails for hiking or for mountain biking in the area. I love making this a stop when traveling through the vegas area. Note there arent any flush toilets, just pit toilets. Also there is no water available so make sure you pack what you'll need.

I was a site 3 which is located across from campground host, the host was in an RV with generator constantly running which was annoying. Also, all the bathrooms were infested with flies. I had to take my daughter down the road to the closest hotel.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
