Hapgood Pond Campground is located in the Manchester Ranger District, Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests (1 hr 20 min east of Glens Falls, NY) with an elevation of 1,541 feet. There are a total of 30 campsites including 2 tent-only sites. The campground is normally open from the end of May to mid October. 26 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 20 and 35 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Fees range from $20.00 to $50.00. Some amenities include shower, swimming, flush toilets. Activities include fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

The Hapgood Pond recreation site will be under construction early in the season which may affect when the pond is filled with water. The non-motorized boat launch will be improved by constructing a gravel ramp which will greatly improve the visitor experience and access for getting boats in the water. Construction is planned before the campground opens for the season on May 22nd however due to many variables including favorable weather the project could still be underway into June. The pond will be filled for swimming and stocked with trout for fishing as soon as the boat ramp improvements are completed. Thank you for your patience as we improve the site for future use.

We recently stayed at Hapgood Pond Campground, and it was such a lovely experience. The campsites are well maintained and spacious, with picnic tables, fire rings, and plenty of shade. Theres also a short nature trail around the pond thats easy and scenic we enjoyed walking it in the evening. The area feels very safe and family-friendly, and you can hear loons at night, which adds to the peaceful atmosphere.If youre looking for a quiet Vermont getaway with swimming, campfires, and nature all around, Hapgood Pond is a hidden gem! Well definitely come back.

when we were at Hapgood pond, the pond was drained for a maintenance project but that did not matter to us since it was a short one-night stay. The camp loop was nice but our site was not very level. We did not use the showers which were quite far from the camp loop. Overall a good stay.

A very lovely and peaceful campground with good sized lots! The camp host was very thorough and kept the sites and vault toilets very clean. Despite the pond being drained the area was still beautiful - would definitely go there again

Hapgood is our favorite place to camp in Vermont. The property is stunning, with the pond and trails to walk around it. The campsites are large and no one is on top of another. Campground hosts are so friendly and keep all the grounds and bathrooms spotless.

A decent little campground tucked away in the Green Mountains, not far off VT-11. Sites are wooded, decent. Sufficient cell service if you want or need connectivity. Starlink utility is limited in most sites due to tree cover.The pond was being drained down for work on the dam. We knew that when we booked the stay. The nature trail around the pond was still supposed to be open, aside from not being able to cross the walkway above the dam (that was getting new railings). The signage at the kiosks said the trail was open aside from the dam area. But the trail entrances for the other end of the loop and in the campground were blocked off with closed signs and snow fencing. This was disappointing, as we would have enjoyed the hike, around to the far side of the dam and back.

Stayed for 2 nights and it was great experience! We stayed at site 11 which was nicely tucked back in, close to the bathroom and water hose. The campsite was clean on arrival. The nature trail was a great easy hike that took you by the pond. Shannon was a super host that was always accessible for any questions and gave us the recommendation of doing Mt Equinox summit drive which was breathtaking. Would definitely go back!!!!

This was our first time camping at Hapgood Pond. The small park is quiet and clean with sites spaced comfortably apart (site 9). I enjoyed the nature walk around the pond which was an easy walk for this 67 year old Grandma.

The grounds are kept incredibly clean and the park is very well taken care of. Sites and surrounding areas were pristine. My kids loved going to the pond to swim/fish/paddleboard. The only negative is the lack of a wash basin for dishes.

If youre looking for a campground to spend a quiet, relaxing weekend away look no further! Hapgood pond is in a beautiful location, the camp sites are spacious and provide some privacy between you and your neighbors. The camp host, Shannon, is amazing! She goes above and beyond in all aspects - checking in on every camper when they arrive, providing personal recommendations, and keeping up with some of the cleanest camp bathrooms Ive ever seen! Overall great experience, I will absolutely be back!

Campsite was clean, easy to find. The bathroom next to the site had hand sanitizer in the bathroom, which was a nice touch and we didn't always see that at all our stops on our road trip. The site itself was close enough to others to know you're not alone, but not so close you can hear everyone's conversations. We happen to be there on a warm, humid night, but showered in the bathroom in the morning and it was fine. Shower had good water pressure and was warm. It would have been nice if the campsite sold firewood like our other sites on the trip, but aside from that, a good stop.

We have been traveling here for over 25 years and it is such a little slice of heaven! Clean, well spaced/private sites and the host is AMAZING! I will say that last year, when they were closing the bathhouse for remodel, it didnt happen. It would be great to see it updated, although its a far cry from the brown wooden shack or was in years past. We were looking forward to the update. Also, why dont the water stations work? 3 of them did but that, unfortunately, doesnt include the one in the area we prefer to stay in. Thanks for many wonderful years!

Its a great location for camping. Well maintained campgrounds, toilets, water supply, a nice pond for sitting, fishing and swimming and a nice hiking trail around the campground. Overall its a great place for camping solo or family. I like it.

Hapgood Pond campground has 28 sites without hookups and no dump station on site. Firewood is not sold here, however JJ Hapgoods sells firewood as do other local stores. Water and vault toilets are available in the campground. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 6 am and most campers are considerate of those hours. Sites 1 to 8 are first come first serve. These sites generally have openings during the week but are full on weekends. Sites 9 to 28 are reservable with sites 18 and 19 being walk in. Cell service is better in sites 23 to 28 and you are closer to the day use area however the sites are closer to your neighbors. Sites 6, 8, and 10 have more open sky than the rest of the sites as most sites have trees around them with shade. The day use area has a bathhouse, pavilions, pond, and walking trail. Weekends are quite busy with weekdays being way less crowded. Swimming and kayaking are very popular at Hapgood as is dog walks on the one mile wooded trail around the pond. Dogs are not allowed on the beach so most find other areas at the pond to play in the water. Hapgood is a beautiful recreation area and I highly recommend it. Ive added this review to answer questions that I have been asked while I hosted at Hapgood Pond.
