Loved staying here! The toilets were clean, the bugs were manageable, the campsite was clean and maintained, and the pond was a cherry on top!

If youre looking for a campground to spend a quiet, relaxing weekend away look no further! Hapgood pond is in a beautiful location, the camp sites are spacious and provide some privacy between you and your neighbors. The camp host, Shannon, is amazing! She goes above and beyond in all aspects - checking in on every camper when they arrive, providing personal recommendations, and keeping up with some of the cleanest camp bathrooms Ive ever seen! Overall great experience, I will absolutely be back!

Very nice quiet small place to camp. Pond water is good and refreshing. The campground host is exceptional. Keeps the toilets and bathrooms spotless.

Campsite was clean, easy to find. The bathroom next to the site had hand sanitizer in the bathroom, which was a nice touch and we didn't always see that at all our stops on our road trip. The site itself was close enough to others to know you're not alone, but not so close you can hear everyone's conversations. We happen to be there on a warm, humid night, but showered in the bathroom in the morning and it was fine. Shower had good water pressure and was warm. It would have been nice if the campsite sold firewood like our other sites on the trip, but aside from that, a good stop.

Its a great location for camping. Well maintained campgrounds, toilets, water supply, a nice pond for sitting, fishing and swimming and a nice hiking trail around the campground. Overall its a great place for camping solo or family. I like it.

Except for the rain, it was great. I was sorry the picnic table had been moved.It was not where it was in the campsite picture. It was in convenient for us in a pop-up

The hostess was great. She stopped in to say Hi and she took time to answer our questions. This visit was great the campsites around us were quite at night which was nice.

Campground was extremely peaceful. Trail around the pond was closed at time of visit.

Hapgood Pond campground has 28 sites without hookups and no dump station on site. Firewood is not sold here, however JJ Hapgoods sells firewood as do other local stores. Water and vault toilets are available in the campground. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 6 am and most campers are considerate of those hours. Sites 1 to 8 are first come first serve. These sites generally have openings during the week but are full on weekends. Sites 9 to 28 are reservable with sites 18 and 19 being walk in. Cell service is better in sites 23 to 28 and you are closer to the day use area however the sites are closer to your neighbors. Sites 6, 8, and 10 have more open sky than the rest of the sites as most sites have trees around them with shade. The day use area has a bathhouse, pavilions, pond, and walking trail. Weekends are quite busy with weekdays being way less crowded. Swimming and kayaking are very popular at Hapgood as is dog walks on the one mile wooded trail around the pond. Dogs are not allowed on the beach so most find other areas at the pond to play in the water. Hapgood is a beautiful recreation area and I highly recommend it. Ive added this review to answer questions that I have been asked while I hosted at Hapgood Pond.

This is a wonderful campground. There is pretty big variation in site size however and while the hosts do a good job of keeping the place clean there is no noise police. This was not an issue 90% of the time but the last night of a holiday weekend some guests thought it was ok to blast their music through the campground until midnight, it was a problem for the little kids.

Super friendly helpful host. Great spot for our annual family campout. Nice to have the showers and flush toilet options for those who need it.

Such a pristine campground - beautiful, quiet surroundings, amazing stars, and friendly people. Sites were spacious and flat with fine gravel surfaces, so no mud to deal with when it rained. Pit toilets were very well maintained and convenient. Our only complaints were the low water pressure at the faucets (took a long time to fill a bucket) and no sink at the shower building to wash dishes. But we made do and had a wonderful time. We normally stay at Winhall Brook but with the closure, decided to try Hapgood. I think it is our new favorite. We will certainly be back!

The campground is beautiful and well run. Thank You U.S. Forest Service!

Beautiful less busy campground. Excellent cleanliness of facilities, which I assume is due to the camp hosts.

Our second stay this year (our other campground flooded out) and still disappointed.The good: Normally a very quiet campground with well spaced sites.Nice tables and okay fire pits.The not-so-good: The camp host quit a few weeks earlier due to "no support" for problematic campers.Rangers only visit every couple of days to collect monies, hang site cards and restock toilets.Sites vary in size drastically. Some sites can only fit tents while others can fit 25ft campers.Free showers but you need to walk or drive to the beach area. Decent hot water.The bad: No firewood available on-site.Bath house showers are shared by day users and the beach can be packed.Showers are in stalls but there are no curtains. Stall walls have "peek through" areas.Bath house rarely cleaned or sanitized, just restocked.

It was very noisy and not much privacy at the campsites also a ton of mosquitoes!

Very nice campground. Sites are pretty. We were in 009 and it was a shaded site. Pond area and trail around the pond were nice. Bathrooms/showers could have been cleaner. Would still recommend this campground.

The pond and beach are a great place for kids to play. The facilities are primitive and not particularly clean. Im not a big fan of the gravel-covered tent sites, but otherwise they were fine.
@Frederick8E8DE · Camped on Jul 8, 2023 at Campsite #12
A very well maintained campground with spacious and private campsites. The area is scenic and close to small towns to sightsee. The trail that goes around the pond is a short but pleasant walk with a delightful variety of trees and plants to see.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
