We recently stayed at Hapgood Pond Campground, and it was such a lovely experience. The campsites are well maintained and spacious, with picnic tables, fire rings, and plenty of shade. Theres also a short nature trail around the pond thats easy and scenic we enjoyed walking it in the evening. The area feels very safe and family-friendly, and you can hear loons at night, which adds to the peaceful atmosphere. If youre looking for a quiet Vermont getaway with swimming, campfires, and nature all around, Hapgood Pond is a hidden gem! Well definitely come back.

Recommend staff walk through and inspect the site prior to occupancy. Fire place needed cleaning. Blow darts (needles) were found under picnic table. Gave to ranger and informed.. We did not see anyone do site inspect or cleaning of any site the 5 days were there.

Campsite pros: Quiet, clean, real shady and cool. Majority of sites seem to be tenting. Road was dirt/gravel in good shape. Pit composting toilets were clean but bring a lantern. Flush toilets and showers at the pond were clean and bright. Pond itself was not large (big enough to have some fun with a kayak) but swimmable with small sand/gravel beach with lawn above. Trails were well marked and in great shape. Next time we will do a stream hike with water shoes as the brook going thru park is really nice. They had a team of hearing impaired workers doing brush removal that were very quiet ;-) but always had a smile and made beavers look lazy. BLM got there moneys worth from them. Good way to spend my tax dollars.Campsite cons: There were a few more mosquitoes than I would like.

An absolutely gorgeous campground, especially in the fall! Campsites are not bunched together and the facilities are good. Be sure to take the one mile hike around the pond!
