Great Campground with terrific sites and hiking

Despite the rain we had a great time camping at Deep Creek. Creek was high and tubing was fast. Better to have a tube with the bottom in it. I hit my back a few times without a bottom.

I go to Deep Creek every year and love it. The rangers are very kind, bathrooms are pretty clean, my family loves to go tube riding nearby, and on occasion you may get surprised by the wildlife that comes by!!

Tubing in the creek is fun. Nice campground but no showers

When I was picking out campsites it's very confusing on the map. Which site is which? That's the only problem. When I got there. The sites I picked were kind of far apart and we had another family in between us... Other than that they can't cite and grounds are very beautiful and very fun to be at.

Beautiful place, campground right on Deep Creek.

This campground was a madhouse on a busy summer weekend, and we were right in the middle of it in the tent area. When I saw our spot, I immediately felt anxious because the spots are very close together. However, all the campers behaved well all weekend, and we ended up having a good experience. Deep Creek is right there, and we spent the weekend on tubes in the water. We brought our own tubes but they can be rented for a small price right outside the campground.

Great campground. Fun tubing. Beautiful area.

The weekends here tend to be quite busy, it is much quieter and lovely during the week. As far as activities, tubing, rafting the Nantahala, hiking along the Ocunaluftee trail near the visitor center, and Chimneys picnic area are all a must! There are not a lot of great eating options in Bryson City, but we do enjoy Dolce!

We love camping at Deep Creek Campground. Its a beautiful and peaceful area. Tubing in the creek provides lots of activity. The raised sites help when it rains. Parking is close enough to make loading and unloading easy. Having bathrooms available is a plus. Its a great getaway with conveniences just down the road which makes it the best of both worlds. We did have to clean out our fire bowl before we could use it because it was left a mess, but everything was really great!

Love the campground. Bathrooms always clean but we did have the bathroom without lights the whole time at night. Something was wrong with the timer I believe. Ranger did try to fix but nothing worked. Otherwise great time.

As another reviewer mentioned, site 58 can be a challenge for a trailer. I only have a 12' single axle, and I had to ask the gentleman across the way to move his truck so that I could get backed in. It is also very steep so make sure you have good chocks! I was able to get the trailer level enough by stacking some blocks under the tongue jack. The nice thing about the upper loop is that the back of the site is forest, and a perfect place to hang a hammock. It's a bit of a walk to the bathrooms (which were clean). Had a great time tubing the creek.

A great campground. We will be back.

Campground was very well maintained, bathroom was clean and staff was pleasant.

The campground was mostly quiet. The recent rains made Deep Creek and surrounding waters beautiful to see. The rangers were very nice and helpful. The hiking in the area was enjoyable. Having a cell signal (AT&T) at the campsite was helpful for communication with friends and family. The wifi at the kiosk, though a little slow, was sufficient for our needs. The only downside to the campground was the bad odor in the comfort stations (with the exception of the picnic are). The bathrooms were cleaned regularly, but retained the smell of BO throughout our 10 night stay. This will not keep us from returning.

Walk in tent campground was only about 1/3 full so quiet and user friendly. River front site gave access to fishing and watching tubers float by. Probably only 50 paces from parked car to tent site. Good hiking trails left from parking lot. Bryson City conveniences only 10 min drive away. Oconoluftee VC 30 min drive thru Cherokee.

Beautiul site, very quiet.

Site 55. Not a bad tent site, somewhat secluded with one close neighbor.

Only problem is allowing generators. We had to move sights because some one with a Generator moved in beside us. You're out in nature & then it's ruined by that obnoxious sound. Should be outlawed.

One of our favorite campgrounds! For people who have not been here before, it's unusual because the campsites are all very different. If you're within visiting distance, it's good to check it out before making a reservation.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
