Rained most of the time we were there but was still nice. Hosts were very friendly.

Site was clean as were the bathrooms. I stayed 2 nights with my son. We could walk to the lake and fish. I met the host who was friendly and helpful. Great experience and I would go again today.

Fantastic host and location! We stayed on site #23 for five nights and hated leaving. Our site was private and very large. Several hiking trails straight out of campground. Kayaking was wonderful on Lake Irwin! 20 minutes from Crested Butte and even closer to the start of Kebler Pass. Pit toilets were clean and acceptable.

Great place. Too bad some sites were left empty because people don't cancel them. Why? Because the refund is so low from Recreation.gov. Please change your refund policy. You will sell the site again if you motivate people to cancel.

Site #3 is very tiny. It works well for a pick-up camper or van, although it's a bit sloped up. The table and firepit are down a little hill with good shade, great lake access and a nice view. My only complaint is that the toilets were filthy, stinky, and the toilet seat was broken. I never saw a camp host.Sites #2,3 and 4 have the best lake access if you're going to SUP or kayak. All of the other lake side sites are up on a hill, so it's not so easy to get a boat down to the lake. There's a trail between sites #3 and #4 to get to the lake from the road, so there are people walking sort of near your campsite, but it's not too bad. Tons of paddleboarders! Nice trail along the shore of the lake. It was very quiet and peaceful when I was there.

The views are amazing, and the lake is pretty and clear, although it is very cold. The camp hosts were so nice and welcoming.The campground, however, need some major remodeling. Most sites are uneven, and theres no clear designated or man-made site, so wherever we placed our tent was uneven and slanted. The pit toilets smelled horrible, much more than typical pit toilets. Also, although the website said that there was water available there, theres no portable water available.

Great campground. Some sites closer to the lake than others, but all within easy walking distance. Lots of wildlife. Great views. No cell service.

Beautiful campground! Quiet, serene, and fun! Camp hosts were the sweetest and most helpful!

The place is literally falling apart.

As many have noted, this campground is in need of some love. Most sites are not suitable for tents, as they are sloped bare rock. The bathrooms are dilapidated (although clean and stocked). The fire rings are either non-existant, or non usable (ours was mangled beyond use). The main path to the lake is basically a washout rut that twisted my daughters ankle. And the campground road is rutted much more than the county road leading to it (or even the dispersed sites beyond).Although the lake and scenery is pretty, prepare for it to be inundated by day users.

The camp hosts Kathy and Steve were excellent although they were very new at the location. They were most helpful and welcoming and really great people. The campground itself needs some work. Toilets rough and the metal fire rings were almost disintegrated with rust. The road through the campground was very washed out and needed regrading. The day use people overflowed into the campground and had dogs off leash that attacked other on leash dogs. They flew drones over us in our campsites, invading our privacy. We used the campground last year and were told that it would be renovated during the offseason but it has not been done. It is ashamed because the location itself is lovely.

Absolutely serene, we had the best time and our spot was fantastic. The fire pit was not the best but we made it work perfectly.Site 6 definitely has an amazing view of the lake! I cannot wait to come back.

Beautiful, peaceful, and safe campground. Two waterfalls just a five-minute walk away, easy trail surrounding the lake, and lovely Crested Butte just 20 minutes back down the dirt road. AWD or 4WD not needed for road. I'll definitely be back but for a whole week next time!

Such a beautiful spot!!

Campground was supposed to have been renovated last year, 2023. Now that project has been postponed. Sites are in severe need of some work. Filthy, poorly located fire pits, tables that are too low to the ground (like 8 inches between seat and ground on mine), unlevel, no water, I could go on. The bathroom was out of paper Sunday morning. I had so much trash in my firepit that it was not usable. Campground host told me he was told not to make any improvements. Day trippers come over to use campground bathrooms because there isn't one in the fishing/boat launch area. I wouldn't recommend until they get around to fixing this neglected campground up.

Site was great lake was awesome. Only thing holding it back is the access road which is very rough and rocky - and beat up my trailer a bit. Loved it once we got there.

Big campsites, many fairly private. Beautiful scenery and access to lake.

Beautiful area. Camp fire pits are in bad shape and full of ashes and shallow so need to be shoveled out prior to use.

Beautiful camping. Hope you regrade the roan next year.

Not very convenient for tents, except from the few sites with tentpads. No water, pit-toilets. Nice surroundings though. Glad we canceled one night and stayed only one instead of two.

Loved the campground! Been visiting to SUP etc. But was the first time camping! Camping host was great! We stayed a 2nd night and left $20 at the Camp Host site table. Quiet and clean! Amazing views and friendly campers! Want to come back next year, but it appears that the campground will be closed for 2023 for renovations.

Views are amazing and fishing was good. 3 stars because the water was not turned on and it did not mention that in the reservations. So we had to run to town to get water.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
