Woodring Campground in Gordon County is located 1 hr 2 min east of Dalton, GA with an elevation of 1,391 feet. There are a total of 42 campsites including 12 tent-only sites. The campground is normally open from the end of May to the beginning of September. 30 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 32 and 99 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 30 sites have electric and water hookups. 1 site has water hookups. Fees range from $18.00 to $28.00. Some amenities include shower, boat ramp, flush toilets. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Beautiful views! We had a great time. We had four adults and four kids. The kids enjoyed exploring, riding bikes, and swimming. We lucked out because the two sites adjacent to ours were not occupied so it was private as well. Its hard to say that if someone had been there if it would have been as private. The bathrooms were clean but very far from our site. It was a long uphill walk. We had our bikes but still had to walk the bikes up the hill. The campground host was friendly. Weather was perfect but we learned that the site is not usually open after Labor Day. If you can get a weekend booked post Labor Day, highly recommend because of the views and weather!

So quiet and enjoyable here. Very relaxing. We enjoy the beach thats shallow enough for kids and easy to bring our kayaks to. Bathrooms arent far.

Great location except for the bathhouse. They do not have much ventilation and stay extremely hot. One of the four shower wasnt working, and had the absolute worst toilet paper I have ever used. Other then that its a great place to get outdoors

Tent site 26. Beautiful lake views. Although, it is a bit of a walk-in distance. Not too bad. Very strange being in the middle of an RV campground. Bathrooms were clean for the most part but an inconvenient walking distance.

It would be very nice if each campsite had a clear path to the lake. It would make it much easier for older folks to safely go down to the lake and enjoy the water.

The campground was great. We picked site 33 and it was very shaded, close to the water and bathroom/shower facilities. One of our favorite parts about staying at Woodring branch was that there is a campground only boat ramp. It was convenient to all campsites and wasn't ever crowded which was a plus when you have kids anxious to swim and fish. We will be going back

Woodring Campground at Carters Lake is such a great find. From the moment we pulled in, we noticed how well taken care of everything is. The campsites are spacious, level, and thoughtfully laid out so you dont feel crowded. Many of them have gorgeous views of Carters Lake, and even the ones tucked back in the trees feel private and peaceful.The whole area feels quiet and relaxingyou mostly hear birds and the breeze through the trees, which makes it easy to unwind. Everything from the roads to the grounds themselves is kept in excellent condition, and you can tell a lot of care goes into maintaining the campground.Whether youre looking to sit by the fire and enjoy the view, hike some nearby trails, or get out on the lake, Woodring is a perfect base. We left feeling refreshed and already planning our next trip back. Highly recommend!

Nice campground but I think 26 a night for no power or water is a little pricey for a tent site.. need to add power to the sites
