Beautiful campgrounds scattered along Suttle Lake. Clean, well maintained spaces with picnic tables and fire pits. Short drive to Suttle Lodge for kayak or paddle board rentals or coffee and breakfast to an evening cocktail at sunset. 100% going to be a staple in our summer camping plans!

Our campsite #15 was huge and flat. You could easily have four tents there. Lots of trees provided shade during the hot weather. The campground is beautiful. Very private boat launch, I dont think I saw another boat launch there except for ours. The only complaint I would have is there was no host on duty the entire time we were there. There was nobody that seemed to be monitoring any of the parking, etc. Vault toilets were less than ideal but what are you gonna do? Would stay there again in heartbeat.

Well maintained sites; very friendly camp host; fairly clean toilets. site 001 smelled of the occasionally- shifted with the wind, but enough to make us choose a different site next year.

Beautiful camp ground on the lake

This is our third visit to the Blue Bay Campground, and that should be a testament in and of itself. The lake is great, the campsites nicer than average, the views nice. Although we knew it ahead of time, the noise from the highway on the opposite side of the lake can be annoying. It was in the mid 90's when we visited, and this may have caused this problem, but the toilet - which was not far from our campsite - added an undesirable odor at times.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. I have been coming here with my children since they were less than a year old. It's easy to access the water from the campgrounds or a small hike or short drive to get to the day use beach, lodge, and boathouse. The campground has water and bathrooms and the boathouse (in the day use area) sells food and drinks which is a nice break from doing all the cooking while camping. We've been here many times and look forward to more!

We had space 19 which is right next to the boat ramp. We thought this would be a noisy spot, but it was not bad at all. It was also a spot that was very well protected from the wind, which is nice since it can be pretty dusty at this campground.

Great time at Blue Bay campground at Suttle Lake! First trip in our new trailer. Hoping to get out in the kayak and do some fishing but the wind was blowing white caps on the lake! Our spot, #19 was right next to the boat ramp and very secluded from most of the other camp spots.

Beautiful Campground.....the restrooms were horrendous however, hundreds of flies in each one, pretty bad smelling as well, there are two other Forest Service campgrounds nearby within walking distance and their restrooms were in great condition, no flies or smell, seems strange that of the 3 campgrounds on Suttle Lake that Blue Bay had essentially unusable restrooms...

SITE 21 & 20 ARE ON TRAIL AROUND THE LAKE. EXPECT TO GREET EVERYONE WALKING ON THE TRAIL & THEIR DOGS. CAME BACK TO CAMP AFTER VISITING THE LODGE TO HAVE A WHOLE GROUP OF 20+ PEOPLE SET UP LIKE IT WAS DAY USE. BATHROOMS WERE UNUSABLE DUE TO THE STENCH.

Great location for all kinds of activities. Some of the sites are small for trailers so watch the length. Only issue was garbage cans were overfull when we arrived and not emptied during our stay and one of the smaller pit toilets was about to overflow. Needed more services to support the number of people staying here in the summer.

We've been to Blue Bay several times. We were disappointed this time. The vault bathrooms were very full and needed to be cleaned out. The smell was atrocious. We were there Thursday until Sunday in June so there is no reason that they should already be full. Our campsites 16 and 17 had poor fire pits - other sites have had their's replaced with circular ones and the picnic tables were concrete instead of the horrible worn out wood ones.Nice campground but needs some tlc.

Site we got (10) was really hilly, difficult to get a good position for the family tent. A few stumps in the site as well were termite homes, so the ground was crawling. The bugs didn't really bother me that much, they're just doing their thing, but it could eek some others out. Site would be fine for a pull-through camper or smaller tent though. Other sites would be better for us with our large basecamp tent.

We were here in August and there were relentless huge numbers of wasps. We couldnt cook or eat any food without being swarmed. Had to eat in the car. Also slight wind shifts very easily brought in the smoke from the fires south of the grounds. Night time got much better for the wasps. Beautiful spot but recommend going during a time the wasps are less active.

We just stopped here for one night. Unfortunately it was very smoky from the nearby wildfires. Nice campsites though. Close enough to the resort to walk there via the trail around the lake. The resort was nice, the lodge looks amazing and we had a draft beer and some snacks. The resort rents boats, kayaks, cabins and lodge rooms. We brought our own kayaks and launched from the little boat launch that is near the campsite. We walked part way around the lake, probably half and it is a very nice, well kept trail. This time of year there were lots of yellow-jackets...bring your trap!

Fantastic location with amazing access to the water. We really enjoyed paddling down to the Boathouse at Suttle Lodge for soft serve in the afternoon!

It was very good to find an algae-free lake for my dog to wade in. Wonderful privacy, big trees - national forests are my favorite campgrounds because of this. A loose dog situation across the road was resolved when I spoke to the owner. But yuck, the outhouses really needed to be pumped out, both at this campground and at the other Deschutes Forest campgrounds that we visited on this trip.

Nice lake, campgrounds not well maintained, roads need repairs and our site was right in the middle of day use parking lot, people everywhere. Will skip this one next time.

Very well kept campground. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked and trash cans were not full, we got to see the fish cleaning station get cleaned also. We drove around the other near by camp grounds and Blue Bay was the best kept.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
