One and 1/2 days were peaceful, reading and sitting by the creek, and watching the anglers (all quiet forms of recreation. One hot temperature day, a family of at least 6 kids moved in to the day-use area and the kids screamed up and down most of the creek for about 5 hours (not just loud voices, continuous screams). One angler left with an abrupt burst of speed and his truck (covered our campsite in dust) and then the couple in the campsite next to us chose to leave a day early because of the continuous screaming in front of their campsite (#14). Obviously conflicting interests. We talked about the situation with the woman you are contracting with and the couple who left did also. Major negative impact. Ill consider E. Davis Lake after Labor Day when school is back in session. It is a beautiful spot.

The campground is lovely as always , however right after we pulled in they came and posted no campfires ! This is a well developed campground and this early in summer its a bit ridiculous to not allow fires in the maintained fire pits . We left a day early because of this . None of the other local counties had restrictions in place yet .

We enjoyed playing at the river, riding bikes on the campground road, and stargazing.

So much wildlife this time of year that we felt like we were in Heaven! Wish it was a first come first serve campground as we only have it once this year. Thanks for keeping the place more in it's natural form without light pollution!

We love camping by the creek. The creek and lake were super high this year. We paddled down the creek on our paddle boards from our camp site all the way to the lake. and then back to the boat ramp and it was easy because the current was easier to go against with the high water. we've never been able to paddle all the way out to the lake before. East Davis lake is one of our favorite campgrounds. its usually pretty quiet, you can hear birds, enjoy the chipmunk antics and even see a bald eagle if your lucky, which we were. We can drive to some nice hikes, our favorite is Fall river, or into La Pine for forgotten supplies. We have a camper so we don't have to use the pit toilets (sorry for all of you who don't). The pit toilets are the only minus.This year, our reservation was not marked on our campsite and was not a problem for us, but our neighbor's reservation also was not marked, and someone was in one of their campsites. There was a bit of discussion and then the people in their campsite left. Whoever is in charge of that needs to do a better job and not miss recording reservations on some of the sites.

Quiet campground with beautiful view. An eagle rested in a tree over our campsite. Vault toilets were clean. Not a fancy campground but very nice for birdwatching.

Beautiful campsite on the creek, with amazing mountain views. And the fish in the river were so cool!

Everything was great except for the water supply.....It was difficult to get it flowing!

The campground staff for Deschutes Recreation were very pleasant; the pit restrooms were always clean and sanitary, garbage was picked up daily. Only concern was that there was no potable water for most of our stay. The old hand pump, which worked well, was replaced with a battery system recharged by a solar panel, and it didn't work until our last 2 days - DR staff came in and fixed it.

Campground is well maintained, and having garbage cans and recycling bins are nice amenities. Campsites are spacious. The creekside sites have the views and are the most popular by far. Most are well shaded, but it's hard to tell from available information which are best.

There were thousands of biting red ants in my space and all over really. I couldn't get my dog out in that mess or sit out myself. I drove to Gilchrist to find ant spray, about a 45 minute round trip.

We met up with friend and had an excellent time. There were a few mosquitoes but not too bad. Quiet campground.

The lake and O'Dell creek was beautiful this time of year. The water was low for kayaking but still pretty.

Beautiful setting along Odell Creek! The campgrounds are generously spaced out so there is some privacy. I love that this is not a large campground.

I have camped at East Davis CG for many years. It has become very popular with too few campsites. I would like to see the FS reopen West Davis CG. Why they haven't done that by now is a mystery to me.

I love Davis Lake. I have visited this particular campsite since it was unknown to the masses that flock there to that like oasis in the Cascades. The reservation system at place now is a turn off for me. I managed to reserve the site of my choice and the time I wanted. However, many visitors were not so lucky. Why? because, there were just as many other people who had reserved sites for 2 or 3 nights. They did not show up at the reserved periods. The drive-in visitors could not use those sites and consequently, unfortunately, they could not unpack and camp at DL as a result. One can not take up a space that has supposedly been reserved by someone else. I found this to be a wasteful, and unfair system. The "Open", I.E. non-reservable sites are the WORSE a camper can have while paying exactly the same amount as in the online reservation system. THAT is not only wasteful, it is UNFAIR to all those who have the miss the better sites that were reserved but were not used. ONLY and ONLY because the online reservation system makes a 3rd party some $$$$. The only price difference between them is the fees the third-party app imposes for "processing". We have all heard that before. So, you be the judge, did I have a good experience at my favorite Cascade Lakes?

We love this campground and have stayed here several times. Overall we had a nice stay and the campground was well taken care of and the bathrooms were clean and stocked with toilet paper. We did have two issues during our stay. First, when we arrived on the afternoon of 7/2/2023, the reserved sign had not been updated to show our reservation. The last reservation listed on the sign ended on 7/2/2023. Because the sign wasn't updated, a camper without a reservation assumed that our site was not reserved starting on 7/2/2023 and had set up his tent in our site. We were able to work it out with the camper and helped him to find another site and move his tent, but he wouldn't have been confused if the sign had been updated timely. The camp management didn't update the sign until 7/4/2023 (our last day in camp). Second, the evening of 7/3/2023 the potable water stopped working and was not fixed by the time we left on 7/4/2023. We had counted on having access to potable water and did not bring a large reserve of water, so this we pretty inconvenient.

East Davis Lake Campground may be one of the best little gems in Central OR. I am new to Bend, and have found this campground very peaceful. Only having 17 sites, they are not on top of each other - love being semi off the grid, with only running water and toilet. The Odell Creek flows through most of the sites. They are all very well maintained and clean.

We had a great time. My only complaint is the numbering system is not good. When making reservations we thought we would be on the water side. That's what the map seemed like. But now we know. And we will be back.

This site was stunning and very private - I would highly recommend it. The campground has trees insulating you from your neighbors - and there is essentially 20+ feet of private creek front with a stunning view of Maiden Peak straight ahead, and bachelor to the right. Bring bug spray (we went in June) - but otherwise no hickups what so ever.

Trash removal didn’t happen during our five nights of camping & therefore piled up outside restrooms. Liked the hand pump for water better than solar button; water very slow.

Unable to use due to thick smoke and evacuation of many campgrounds surrounding this one as well as closing of access roads in and out. Was not offered a refund

Beautiful area and campground. Bathrooms were clean, the sites fairly well kept. Buggy at night near the water and hornets are a problem. Would definitely stay again.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
