I have camped at East Davis CG for many years. It has become very popular with too few campsites. I would like to see the FS reopen West Davis CG. Why they haven't done that by now is a mystery to me.

A quiet campground nestled in a grove of trees surrounded by an old burn. There is a creek running next to it. Wonderful

In June the ability to have campfires was stopped due to risk of forest fires. We totally understood. In late Aug. we were at Rock Creek campground. There was a campfire at another campsite. I reported the infraction but was told that it was ok to have one there! The forest there is very dense and lower half of all the trees have dead branches. An extremely high fire danger. There was a forest fire at the time just 25 miles north. We were very nervous camping there under these circumstances. We felt very safe at East Davis campground. Also had mice problem at Rock Creek.
