The campground was very nice and well kept. Bathrooms were always clean and the garbage cans were empty the two times that we needed to utilize them. The campground host, that actually resides at Crescent Lake, was very polite and respectful. The MAJOR gripe I have isn't about the contractor caring for the campground, but the IDIOT'S from the Forest circus that chose to be talked into buying, (I wonder what tax payers had to pay for this) and installing the solar water supply!Whomever authorized this should be FIRED! They obviously don't have a clue what they're doing. To operate it you have to hold a button down for a minute and than you only get MAYBE a pint of water a minute! I'd call it a joke but there's nothing funny about it. Rip those things out and put the ol' reliable pump jacks back in. If the responsible party is reading this, get in touch with me. I have some beautiful beachfront property in Kansas that I'll sell you....cheap.

The lake was extremely low. In fact you could walk through shallow water over to the West Davis boat ramp. Bird life was way down. Somewhat smoky when we were there, but still a peaceful hike out into the meadow along the shoreline. Lots of white fish and a few trout congregating near the East Davis boat ramp where Odell Creek comes in.

No water this year due to COVID and fire restrictions made this less than an ideal experience. In addition, the camp has not gotten the care it needs to be brought back up to the condition it was prior to the 2003 fire. The trails have not been repaired. The Odell creek trail over to the west campground used to be a fantastic nature experience for kids but it is no more.

Went there to fish the lake but there was no boat ramp available.
