This was our second trip to Alpine Meadows Campground. Each time I am impressed on how clean the campground is kept. The sites are ample size and most have been constructed with shade in mind. I find that the sites on the outside of the circle probably get the most shade with the ones on the outside of the circle in the first half seeming to have the most. The first time we went, we had AT&T fo cell service and there was no service within the campground, but if we went to the flag pole at the enterence we were able to get full bars, this was 4 years ago, might be better now. This trip we have Tmobile. We were able to get 2 to 3 bars of 4G throughout the entire campground with a few spots getting full bars. It was enough to make phone calls or use the internet browser. Was here to unplug though so only used the cell as needed to check local information sites, which we never had an issue doing with the service available. I love how quiet this Campground is and generally everyone that this camp attracts is super friendly. It's a great location of hiking and biking trails. Martis Creek Lake is close by. It's a little bit of a walk but driving from the campground is about 3 to 4 minutes only because the road is rough and dirt/gravel, it is in good repair though. The road to the lake cuts off right at the enterence to the campground so it's super close. Took my kids about 10 to 15 minutes to walk it when we were here several years ago. This is a great campground for families. The traffic is slow, because speed limit is I think 10 mph but the road around the campground doesn't support faster (bumps, small/one lane). KIDS DO RIDE BIKES AND SCOOTERS AROUND THE CAMPGROUND SO MAKE SURE TO STAY GOING SLOW AND WATCH! Overall, it was a great trip to unplug and get away for a while. I also loved the there is space between sites so you are not right up next to your neighbor. Bathrooms have stalls, sinks, paper towels, toilet paper and hand sanitizer.

Other campers were quiet and respectful. The pit toilets are very stinky

Nice campsite! Neighbors were minimally noisy, which was really nice considering it was the 4th of July weekend. We walked down to Marlette Creek Lake, and our dog loved splashing in the water. We came camping to avoid the sound of fireworks, as our dog nearly has a heart attack from them, but we could still hear the display in Truckee. It was muffled, but still audible. Overall, we enjoyed our camping trip here and would like to return. We did come home with several sneaky bug bites so I'd use more bug spray next time.

I have been staying for at least 15 years and keep coming back. A nice quiet campground that is close to town yet feels like youre in the woods.

A delightful small campground. About 24 sites, which are well spaced with ample shade. Easy hikes to the reservoir and pond area. Fun to watch birds and planes coming in to the nearby Truckee airport. Excellent food at the Red Truck cafe at the airport.

Nice quiet campground. A couple of miles from the highway so road noise is not an issue. Restrooms have running water in the sink but pit toilets. Not an issue for me but others may not like that. Potable water spigots are spread out throughout the campground. Most sites have a good amount of shade. Great location only about 10 minutes from downtown Truckee. Martis Lake is a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk from camp if youre looking for some fishing.

1. I dont like the Recreation.gov on- line reservations. To get two nights, you need to reserve 3 days. Because of this I made an error and had the reserve another campsite and the last minute for my second night.2. When I arrived Thursday night, I found a family in the campsite having a bonfire and BBQ. They claimed they had no idea it was reservations only and that it wasnt posted in the campground.3. Campground host told me they are no longer putting the reservations on the campsite posts, because they blow away, or get wet and the print runs. Seems like a bad policy and creates confusion/conflict.

The campground is fantastic. Clean. The bathrooms could use some work. They are not kept very clean. The current campground hosts are not friendly.

Great little camping spot, its also called the Martis Creek Campground (follow the signs for that). The campground is quiet except for a few airplanes, but its nothing crazy. The lake isnt right next to the campground, so you do have to walk/drive/bike there. A lot of sap from the trees, so just be aware if you have dogs or small kids. Overall it was a great camping spot to chill and relax.

Small campground with lots of trees and wide spaces between campsites. Site (#17) took minimal leveling. Bathroom was clean and well supplied with hand soap, toilet paper and hand towels.Campers observed the quiet time and I didnt observe any dogs off leash.

Campground was nice we had a great site #23. Bathrooms were in dire need of cleaning of cobwebs. The road into the campground and portions of the loop are a disaster. I cant believe you cant find the funds to at least chipseal the road.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
