The camp hosts are amazing. They do a fantastic job keeping the grounds clean and they are very accommodating with info, recommendations and knowledge of the area, which in turn makes the camping experience top notch. 5 STARS!

The gentleman at check in was very nice, the Yurt we rented smelled a little funny and had some leftovers from the last people but the smell went away just after we got windows and the door open.

Our spot (040) was REALLY small and they pack the spots in pretty tight. Our spot had one option to pitch a small tent and it was pretty close to our neighbors. Other than that, very nice campground. Very nice hosts although I couldnt get wood on my arrival around 6:30.

First time to William Kent and we were very pleased. Though the campground is very easily accessible from Hwy 89, it feels super hidden and private from the main road. Our spot was towards the back with lots of room to spread out. The bathroom was very close to our site and was clean and well taken care of. Check in was easy, even after hours, with our paperwork pinned to the check in board. There are houses that border the outside fence of the campground, but our site was on the interior, so we could see some houses, but didn't back up to them. Tons of huge pine trees and our site was shady and never got blasted by the sun. We will visit again.

The yurt itself was great! Nice bunk bed and futon, clean, and fun. The camp hosts were attentive and kind. There is a stone beach within walking distance, and the sandy but busy Commons beach in Tahoe City is just a short drive away. Bike paths are accessible just outside the campground. The campsite is spacious and open - this is both good and bad. Because the yurt site is one of the first sites on the road into the campground, everyone at camp has to drive by the site and can see everything since it is so open. The campground is surrounded by houses, so you also have windows from the other side looking into the site (maybe 100 meters away). Also, the trailer dumpsite is right next door, so you get to watch people dumping (and spilling) their waste while you eat breakfast. All in all, it is a great site for getting you up to Tahoe, but not a great site for a quiet outdoors adventure.

William Kent is a gem. Lovely facilities and great staff. Even a neighborhood bear or 2. Well be back.

Love this campground sooo much! 81 is next to restroom and shared trash dumpster which is good or bad depending on your outlook. Such a nice walk to the shore, close to a lovely cafe, market and Sunnyside restaurant.

Great campsite #33. A lot to do. Rode bikes took walks. Visit farmers market on Thursday. Great place to relax.

Great campsite, close proximity to lake is super nice.

Lovely campground. Clean bathrooms . Main drawback was noisy neighbors and people walking through campsite.
@JoyC4566129 · Camped on Aug 10, 2025 at Campsite #16
Spacious, shaded sites surrounded by forestry and very nice hosts. Walking distance to a fancier general store (essentials, artisanal items, gelato, deli counter), 1-2 restaurants, and a small pebbled beach.

I love this campground for the peace and quiet. I paid $12 to access the nearby beach during the day. The camp hosts are also lovely.What I do not love is the $8 reservation fee. When you book multiple nights, it is not so bad. But if you book a single night and then decide to stay for a second or 3rd night, adding on as you feel like it, those fees really add up and make you sick to your stomach.

Loved the campsite, bears and all : ) restrooms are super clean and maintained throughout the day!! even though there are no showers there, really liked that there are some 10 minutes away at Meeks Bay. We brought bikes and scooters for the kids and they had a blast. We did fishing in nearby stream, hiked eagle rock and did some mountain biking on near by trails with the teenagers!!! Did the lake and beach, awesome as well!! We were a big group of 6 different campsites and we were able to accommodate all of us kinda close to each other. Thank you.

Nice campground. Firewood is very expensive. Frequent bear activity. The tiny beach across the street is actually awesome for rock hounds. Very tiny and crowded and a number of inconsiderate people setup their canopies and leave them there overnight.

Quiet peaceful campground for the most part. One guy about 19 kept riding an electric MOTORCYCLE around~~making "laps"~~thru the campground. THAT got to be annoying. He was going faster than the posted 'speed limit'. We mentioned it to the 'host' in the check-in building & was basically told he could not do anything about it.

Great location. Really nice campground and the people who work there really nice. The only downside is the bathrooms. The redid the outside if the buildings, but the insides are old and the toilets leak and a lot of the toilet were out of order.

For $50/night youd expect that the bathrooms would have soap and a way to dry your hands. Im kinda surprised they even had toilet paper.

Wonderful location and walking distance to everything we needed! Camp hosts were not welcoming of our group. Made everyone pay an extra $25 when they arrived even though we had already paid for seven total campsites and had plenty of space for everyone. Overall a good stay and great facilities, but camp hosts were mentioned by many of our 30+ people as a big negative impact on the trip.

We enjoyed our stay at WKC. It was a quiet campground with a good amount of space between sites. It had a large picnic table and fire pit and plenty of shade from the tall pine trees. I reserved site 29 a few weeks out and it was the last one available. The website stated it was 32' long so I reserved it for my 30' TT. After arriving, the camp host told me that the site is only meant for truck and tent camping and my TT would fit but I'd have to park my truck in the overflow parking down at the entrance. The other problem with site 29, was that it was angled opposite of the one-way traffic. So I had to drive the wrong way, opposite traffic in order to back my TT into the site. Once parked and unpacked, we enjoyed the beach across the street and the miles of bike paths. We also did a nice hike to the west along a small creek. Don't miss the bike path to the north which follows the Truckee River. The market across the street is also very nice with a bakery, ice cream, etc. We will definitely be back but in a different space.

The campground was lovely and we started off with high hopes. Around 10pm on the first night (July 28th) a very loud chainsaw noise started up. Is was impossible to sleep through even with earplugs and continued until 2:00am. I called the police to file a noise complaint. The following night, it started up again at 10pm. I called the sheriff and they said Id was part of a road maintenance project and they couldnt do anything about it. If this is true, it is surely the responsibility of the campground to inform potential campers that there will be incredibly load noises all night. We got 0 hours of sleep between the two of us and ended up driving down to Meeks bay the second night in search of quiet. Absolute nightmare experience.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
