Nice views. Close enough to Jewel Cave. Not the greatest toilets.

Very clean campsite and restrooms. Staff were very friendly and even stopped by at the end of the day to see if we needed anything. Could have been a better stay. Excellent

The campground was great, with campers being respectful of others. Since the group I was part of was primarily in tents, we appreciated the lack of generator noise at night. The campground hosts were great! Very helpful and friendly. The only negative I can think of is that the two outhouses closest to our sites had issues. One of them, a two-holer, had one of the doors locked, which I assume, was due to a problem. Another outhouse had a door that could not be closed due to a door-frame alignment issue. This required two of us to attend whenever an individual had to use the bathroom.

We just spent 5 days at Sheridan Lake with our 3 children each of them with their children, a total of 4 RV's. We enjoyed the stay the campground is spacious, beautiful and close to all activities. We would camp there again. That said I do have a complaint. We reserved to stay 6 days, however 2 of our party had to leave a day early (law enforcement individuals) so we all decided to leave. 3 days before our departure date I tried for 2 days to cancel our last day. The campground office said they could not help us with that and stated it was a "REAL PAIN IN THE A--". We were given a number to call. I tried 3 times to call with up to a 1.5 hour wait time. We had to drive to a location for reliable cell service. It is very unpleasant to sit in a car and wait for assistance. I never was able to get through and I ended up paying for 4 unused campsites . VERY DISAPPOINTED.I've cancelled state campgrounds before "ONLINE" and always received a refund minus a small cancellation fee. Unprofessional at best!

beautiful location right on the banks of the lake. Quiet and clean, would definitely stay here again.

Loved our campsite. No showers. Only outhouses. We had a non-electrical site in a section designated as such. People used generators which were very noisy. The generators did not run constantly, but noisy when they were in use.

The out houses were full. The camping spot everyone park their boat there and walked through our camp site. We couldn't fish or put our kayaks in.

Our site was #20. Nice and shady but be careful where you set your tent. We had a several inches of rain. It pools all around the fire pit. Just look for the high spot. The water receded remarkably fast. I would have given a 5 but the bathroom door doesn't close which is hugely inconvenient.

Lovely space, great host, wonderful site! Construction on 385 throughout the night made getting a good night's rest difficult.

Sheridan Lake is our favorite Forest Service Camp Ground. The scenery is spectacular and with the Marina near by, the experience is one that we always look forward to.

Bathrooms cleaned thoroughly daily. Trash was well managed. Staff were friendly. Too many dogs!

The campsites are large and nicely separated from other sites with trees. Very pretty location. The lake is not near these sites and you would likely want to drive to the swim beach but parking availability wasnt an issue even on the 4th of July. There is no cell phone signal (Verizon) in the campground.

The park is gorgeous. The sites are first rate. Access is tight, but thats fine given the reward of such a beautiful spot to stay.I did find the staff to be overly policing to the point of almost intimidation. As there was no services whatsoever, things like generators are required. If you got home late and ran the generator one minute past 10. There was a knock on the door. I think somebody came by our site every 15 to 20 minutes all evening to make sure that we were abiding by all rules and regulations. It felt more like incarceration than camping. As a couple caring for three young well behaved boys it seemed a little over the top. We had neighbours that were treated similarly.I would still come back to your camp site, however, I would look for a site far from your camp hosts as at 52 years old, I dont require babysitting.

Sheridan Lake was a great campground to be away from the crowds and busyness of the Black Hills, but close enough to the sights without driving all the time. Our spot had lots of trees which made using solar a little difficult, but our generator came in handy when we didnt have enough power. There is NO dump station which was also tricky, but we made it work. The lake and beach were great along with the large campsites.

Good experience. Clean site, friendly staff. Restrooms were clean and a short walk from our site. Overall, I would stay here again.

Beautiful campground! We were in Chipper loop which was very quiet and unpopulated. (There was a large summer camp group on another loop that was loud and teeming with kids.)Spacious site for tent and RV. Clean restrooms. Didnt engage with the camp hosts at all, they seemed to keep to themselves. Close enough to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument and Deadwood if you want a day trip. Highly recommend this campground.

I appreciate the cleanliness of the outhouse toilets. The campsites are a nice space from each other. Not too close.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
