A true gem of a campground. Sure it is a little old and faded - a little TLC is needed. But dont let that deter you from coming here. It is peaceful and awesome. The views are really stunning - high desert at its best.We camped in site 21. It is paved, level and has amazing views. One oddity about this campground is each site is designed to have two different campers who share a covered picnic awning- it is divided with a privacy wall. But this is the good part - not many folks camp here. So it is very likely that you will have a private space as we have on our two visits. There are 7 camp sites occupied on a weekend.One of these best features of the campground are the restrooms and showers. They are cleaned frequently. They have flush toilets and the shower is really good - lots of hot water. There are fresh water faucets in common locations around the campground. Two of the faucets have threaded heads so you can fill your tanks. And there is a dump station at the campground. Overall, its really a great place to hide away from crowds and stay in an awesome location.

Great place to go for solitude and great views!There was drinking water at the dump station, so fill-up before you roll-into camp. No electricity, but it cooled-off enough at night, so we didnt need to use our generator to run the air conditioning. Nearby (~50 feet away) was a restroom with flushing toilets, though no showers. Very few other campers, only 3 other sites were occupied so we had the great views all to ourselves! T-Mobile didnt have any service, so used our Starlink.

We reserved site #17. THERE IS NO SITE #17!!! When we arrived we saw a post with our reservation on it. No drive to park a vehicle, no picnic table/ shelter like other sites. We even reserved with the information that we had a 25' RV. Site #17 is just sage brush with no place to even pull off the road! We were fortunate that another site was empty and we moved to that one. But after driving 300 miles plus 25 miles down into the canyon, we were very frustrated. Site #17 is not the only one like that! Please fix your reservation system or site numbers or something before this happens to other people.

Campground is neat and quiet. Restrooms and showers are clean with nice warm water. Ken (the host) is a great guy. He does frequent rounds to keep the campground nice and clean. Go talk to him, he has good stories to tell.

The view was amazing. The sites were very small with no internet or connectivity, but we enjoyed our short stay.

We arrived at the campground to find the gate locked and everything closed up. We had reservations, but no notification of them being cancelled and no explanation posted anywhere. We weren't the only ones--there were at least 3 other families that drove up with reservations. Called the contact number when we finally got to place with cell service, had to leave a message. Nobody has every contacted us.

I recently stayed at Firehole Campground, and it was a wonderful experience. The campground is beautifully situated along the river, offering picturesque views and a peaceful atmosphere. The campsites are clean, and come with basic amenities like fire rings and picnic tables. Overall, Firehole canyon Campground is a gem for anyone looking to enjoy nature in a serene and well-maintained setting. Highly recommended!

Camp host was great and site was well maintained. A little out the way from the main interstate but worth the drive.

When we arrived at Firehole, the campground was locked up and empty. Since it was 6 pm, and no cell service, we had to set up camp somewhere else. Which was surprising since emails had been sent to us 2 days before saying we had a 3 day reservation. When we contacted someone in the American land and leisure company, who manages the campground the next day, we were told to go to the other campground, Buckboard Crosding, which was a few hours and long drive away. We were told to find any campsite at this campground in A or B loops. This campground was a poor substitute for our original choice. THE next morning we found a tag saying our site was reserved for that night. Meaning now we had to move AGAIN! Since we had to take down the tent and move, and the weather was windy, we just decided to leave as our campsite was not what we wanted. A View of construction and woodpiles, was not what we had planned for. So we paid for 3 nights in a specific campground only to stay 1 night in a campground we were never interested in staying in the first place.

We arrived to find that the campground is no active. All locked up, none around, no information. We filed a claim for full refund. Never had this happen before. Very disappointing.

Absolutely gorgeous. We lived in Rock Springs 30-odd years ago and came here often, but it had been years since we'd been here. Glad we came back!

Clean facilities. Close to the water. Great views. No hot water at the shower when we were there. Be aware that the sites a setup pairwise. Your neighbor, if occupied, will be only 15 feet away. The shelter structures are shared between sites.

The camp host was off-site with an emergency, so some understandable issues occurred with our reservation that were worked out in a satisfactory manner. We ended up with a double site to ourselves with a nice view of the canyon and moderate view of the water. There was a path down to the "campground swim beach" adjacent to the site... but we never found a spot that I would qualify as such. There were water snakes and other critters that had me thinking twice about swimming. If we didnt have the double site to oursevles, the situation would have been very crowded and lacking any privacy whatsoever. I probably won't camp here again.... but it was... fine.

Great Host, Its a beautiful site, warm water in showers, no electricity, some of the sites are difficult to get into with a 32 footer although booked for this size. Dump station is there, but no flush water, overall the campground is old and not well maintained, however the location is amazing and one of a kind.

Amazing views!! The picnic table shade structures were quite dirty and thick with mosquitoes, and the shade itself was quite minimal. Unfortunately, we fried during the day. River access isn’t the easiest on foot. Shade tents and awnings highly recommended.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
