We visited this site on Jul 27th. No moon meant the sky was pitch dark and we could see 3 satellites at the same time and the Milky Way. There's no sink to clean to do the dishes or brush your teeth. There wasn't running water, so you need to take as many gallons as you would need.Very pleased with the view. Services could improve. James was a cool host.

Moraine and Roaring Fork Loops have zero shade - if you are camping in a tent, and happen to have a dog or small children, please heed this warning and absolutely bring some form of shade and some form of screened structure. The mosquitos could be unbearable for the pups in the evening and the sun was difficult on everyone all afternoon long. Hosts are exceptionally friendly, the views and amenities are great, and the proximity to the best hiking trails is also great - just bring shade and shelter from the mosquitos.

Beautiful camp ground area. I like the proximity of the private lodge for ice and ice cream! During our stay the water spigots ran out of water and the camp host waited until 7 pm on our first day, during dinner, to tell us all tents need to be in the tent pad gravel area and to move them. She had talked to one of our group earlier and never mentioned this. It is also not on the website or check in directions. The restrooms were impeccably clean and well stocked. We had one night of rain and drove to Grand lake for dinner which was a nice diversion. Lots to do in the area, I would go back.

Beautiful location, clean facilities, and free paddle board rentals for campers.

Our favorite site! Perfect with barely a sight from next door. Only across from your site. Best place to camp if windy. Oh yes, bonus - your own beach spot. We are so lucky to be able to score this site. Will certainly make it an annual visit - same site!

The campground was nice amd we stayed an extra 4 nights. Corie, the campground host, was awesome. Very friendly and helpful. We will be back!

We had site 68 and was surprised by how busy it gets. It's next to a double site which can have up to 16 people. The group next to us had at least 10 people there. Even with them trying to be courteous, 10 people can get pretty loud. It's also on the cross road through the campground, so a lot of vehicle and foot traffic all around us. No direct water access and it's a long walk to the boat ramp. Wind blew down the mountains out of the east, so it felt like we were camping in Nebraska all weeknd. Trees are small and provide no shade, so there's no break from the wind or sun.

Great location. Campground was clean and quiet. Bathrooms were clean. Having water on site was amazing.

Cori, the only Camp Host did a great job of keeping the loop bathrooms nice.

Campground isn't on Lake Granby but it was scenic and there were several clean vault toilets.

People were parking all over on the grass. Also, quite a few tents were set up on the grass and not on the tent pads. The picnic tables need boards replaced.

The camp host could have been better and more present also the wash board road was bad over the dam. Other than that a great place to camp.
@JenitaRA6789ED · Camped on Jun 29, 2025 at Campsite #3
The picnic tables had pieces of wood missing from them. There were tents set up everywhere on the grass and not on the tent sites. Cars were also parked on the grass.

The campsite was very different than the picture on the recreation.gov site. The parking spot was right off the road but the campsite was about 40 feet up a hill. First I was told by one park employee that we could fit 2 vehicles in the one parking spot provided, as long as it did not encroach on the parking spot next to ours which belonged to the next campsite. Then we were told we could not park a second vehicle there even though it fit by a different park employee. When I confronted the second employee about the discrepancy, she curtly discounted the advice we got from the first park employee saying "she was a new hire and didn't know the regulations yet". I finally ended up calleing the camp administrator Stephanie to complain and was told that I could park a second vehicle in the one space as long as it was wide enough to accomodate 2 vehicles. Ridiculous! My advice is don't trust the pictures, go up and investigate the site before reserving. If you have more than 1 vehicle, find a site with a driveway so you can fit a second vehicle. It is a beautiful campgrounds, but the pictures are misleading and the campground staff will give you different information depending on the mood they are in!

Just stayed for the night. The lake is beautiful and the grounds were well kept. It is a bit of a drive on an unpaved (but easily traversed) road. Tucked away at the northern end of the lake.

Road to campground was one of the worst washboards that I have ever driven!

Arapahoe Bay campsight is the BEST! The campsights on the lake are perfect for paddleboarding. The camp host, Kori, was super friendly and helpful. The restrooms were clean! The close little town of Grand Lake had some quaint stores and delicious dinning options. This is by far my favorite place to camp! You will not be disappointed especially if you enjoy water activities.

This was are first return to Arapaho Bay in a few years. Campgrounds were in great condition and full each night (weekend). We were surprised to see the boat ramp has been gated off. We used it to launch kayaks, but no trailored boats at that end of the lake anymore.

Gorgeous area with a lot of great hiking

Super rude host. We did not stay due to not getting there 26 hours of our reservation so that was on us. There were others at our site so at least someone enjoyed it. Will not go back.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado
