Awesome site with a great host. Very helpful and accommodating. No water but Idaho Springs is pretty close so its pretty easy to grab some.

Close to Denver, well kept sites, clean bathrooms, and solid trail within walking distance. The sites are closer together and smaller than I like - its hard to fit two tents and you have to be a like creative.

Camp host was friendly. Sites were well maintained. Beautiful location and proximity to hells portal trailhead was perfect! (And the trail was beautiful!)

Great service, clean area. Except the firewood was a bit overpriced.

Small, clean, quiet campground. Host was friendly and helpful, hiking trail right next to campground!

Cute little campground. Some sites offer much more room than others, #1 had a lot of space for tents, although the fire pit, table and bear box are pretty squished together. Bring plenty of of water, no water on site.

Overall a decent experience, rating 4 stars more because of the activities in the area. Note, my fianc and I had a busy prior weekend and plans to travel out of state the following weekend, so we decided to only stay 1 of 2 nights heading home Saturday evening.We had site 13 which was very underwhelming as we pulled up. Very little tree coverage compared to the other sites. It was also right alongside the road that led to a public parking area. Only 1 car and some dirt bikers drove by around 7AM, but it was early in the season, Id imagine it has more traffic middle of summer. Sites 11 and 12 are basically right on top of each-other with 13 being a little over from them. Fortunately for us, neither 11 or 12 were occupied, so we didnt have to worry about it feeling overcrowded. If we stayed again, we would get a site further away from the road, on the south section of the campground closest to the creek.Very scenic drive with a secluded feeling. West Chicago creek flows in the distance adding a little peaceful noise. Definitely not my favorite campground but Id recommend it if you want a reason to hang out in Idaho Springs or hit some fishing spots such as Echo Lake.

My entire vacation was completely ruined. I traveled from California to Colorado only to find the site I booked two months in advance was double booked. Someone was already camping there. Of course, there was no camp host anywhere to be found. There were no other camp sites available. It was a completely horrible experience.I had 2 twelve year old kids with me. This was supposed to be part of their birthday present. This will make a memorable experience for them for sure,I did get the money I paid for the reservation back. So what!!!Thank you for nothing! Worst experience Ive had with a reservation.

This is a small campground with beautiful views. The creek runs along the back and is the perfect white noise. Plus, there are bathrooms. Would definitely come back.

It was a great experience. I like the area because there was a fire pit, restroom, dumpster, bench, reservation request online, parking space and a place to set up your tent.Enjoy your stay.

The bathrooms were completely out of toilet paper. Its lucky we brought a roll of toilet paper along or it would have necessitated an emergency trip to town to get some. They were completely out of envelopes to pay for first come first served sites or to pay for an extra vehicle. But the worst part, my RESERVED campsite was not marked in any way, and thus had been claimed by another first come first served camper. It could have been a disaster had they set up camp fully and then we had arrived later on in the evening to find our site occupied. As it is, they were dismayed that we had set up camp in the spot that they thought they had claimed and paid for. Luckily I was able to show them my email receipt AND there was a different vacant site nearby.

Return camp after a few years. Nice smaller clean campground near a trailhead. Quiet surroundings and easy access to the creek nearby. With the quiet nights you can hear the creek at night along with clear nights for star gazing. Restrooms are kept clean along with the sites. We stayed at site 13 at the end of the campground which has plenty of room to set up tents. Short 1520-minute drive outside of Idaho Springs.

Small quiet campground. Always nice to have a nearby stream to help lull you to sleep.

West Chicago Creek campground is beautiful and close to trails. There is one huge drawback in that the sites are extremely close together. We have a Jayco Feather light travel trailer which is small by trailer standards, and there is a popout canvas tent for sleeping on one side. The adjacent site to ours was so close in proximity that it didn't allow room for another vehicle with our popout. As such, we were given the ultimatum of either closing the popout, i.e., our bed, or paying for the adjacent site. We spent one night miserable on the floor of our trailer, then paid for the adjacent site on the second night. We would not have stayed at all had we been informed in advance of this limitation, and felt it was unfair that we were charged the extra fee. This review specifically applies to site 15 (and 16), but other sites were also very close in proximity.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
