West Lake Campground is located in the Canyon Lakes Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests (59 min northwest of Fort Collins, CO) with an elevation of 8,215 feet. There are a total of 35 campsites including 5 tent-only sites. The campground is normally open from mid May to mid September. 30 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 30 and 40 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 30 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $26.00 to $70.00. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Vault toilets need to be cleaned daily. If a day is skipped it's too smelly to use.

It was very quiet most of the week. Some noisy neighbors moved in for the weekend, but quiet hours were mostly observed. Although there were threats of rain all week, for the most part the weather was pleasant with occasional cools winds. Overall a very relaxing retreat from the hubbub of daily life at home!

It's a lovely, quiet campground, well-kept with friendly hosts. Beautiful setting with plentiful hiking nearby.

Nice and peaceful! It was awesome that the fire department put on a parade for labor day what fun!! Great fishing caught my limit!!

West Lake Site 12 was fantastic. We overlooked the lake, the campground was amazingly quiet during the week. The site was far enough from other sites we felt comfortable. The campground hosts were very freindly and helpful. The restrooms were very clean and free of flies and stink. Overall this was a great experience.

Im not sure if the people, Nikki and her husband, were actually the hosts, but they were awesome. Super helpful. I did see other people who I think were the actual hosts but we did not interact. My only negative is that the bathrooms smelled HORRIBLE. Like, gagging me horrible.

We love West Lake and have been camping there since the day they reopened 20+ years ago. There have been many camp hosts over the years. The restrooms are not cleaned like they used to be, the camp sites aren't raked anymore and we found trash in the fire pit. The cost continues to. increase and getting reservations gets harder every year. It's very frustrating after all the years spent up there.

We had a wonderful campsite next to the lake. The facilities were clean and convenient. We paddle boarded and kayaked on the lake, hiked the trail around the lake and down to Dowdy lake, all which was very nice. It is basically in town, so this can be a plus or minus depending on what you want.

Great camping spot on the end of a loop. Had full power for the camper. We also had quick and easy access to the take from the spot we were at and we enjoyed the fishing.

Its an OK campground. Better to get a site on the right side of the main entrance to be away from the highway noise and day use area.

This is a beautiful spot. The campsites are widely separated and well kept. So quiet my phone's sound meter equated it to a quiet library. Vault toilet was very well kept. This is definitely a gem.

Overall, our stay went superbly! Our only complaint was the odors in the latrines seemed especially caustic several days during the week.
