The location is beautiful, the campsites are well maintained. The reason this trip was "fair" is because of the weather and the Camp Host, Donna. As an FYI a lot of the campsites that are tent sites, you can't park at, you park in a space close to the road and walk down (this was not clear in the website).

it is getting really expensive to camp now $8.00 a day for electricity my house doesn't Youse that much and most things in my trailer are low voltage. $8.00 for extra car to park .No water in the campground and nobody was even trying to fix it for the whole week we were their the host never cam around once to explain the problem to us and tell us when it would be fixed.

Dowdy Lake is a great place to spends few days in the fresh mountain air. The lake is beautiful, the campsites clean and shady, and there's plenty of space between sites. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Take Poudre Canyon for a scenic route to the Red Feather Lakes area or 74E for a simple way to get there.Kayaking is the best way to explore the rock formations in the lake and fishing is good too.

Campground in wonderful condition. Easy access to site, lake and facilities. Bathroom facilities very clean and had lights! Made it much easier to use after dark. Fellow campers very respectful of quiet hours.

We had a great time at Dowdy Lake! We walked around the lake a couple of times, paddle boarded and kayaked, drove over to hike to Disappointment Falls (not disappointing) and walked around the other lake nearby. The campsites were nice and the bathrooms were clean. We will definitely return!

We camped twice this summer and both trips were great at Dowdy. We love bringing our family to this lake. Fishing in early June is amazing. We enjoy paddle boarding on this lake also. The path around the lake is enjoyable and scenic. The campground host were all very friendly and helpful. Plus the outhouses were always clean and tidy. Can't wait to come back next summer to share memories with our kids.

Very difficult to get advance reservations with current Recreation.gov system.Also, our reservation confirmation for Trailer site at Dowdy read 2 car maximum, yet camp host tried to get us to pay $8 per night for a second car.

We were in site 027 which is full sun all day. Loved the area but bring some type of shade awning for this site number.

We enjoy hiking toward Mount Margaret on the east side of Dowdy Lake - there are many trails in this area. The Sherman Granite produces massive Tors, pillars of rock isolated from others, throughout this region. Very special, spiritual place.

Fantastic experience Camp Hosts are awesome people They work hard and take job seriously ! They are pleasant and alwys available to help or for questions The trail around the lake is great for my husband in a wheelchair though I wish they would build a foot bridge by the tent sites that has eroded It makes staying on the trail impossible and dangerous for a handicapped or elderly camper

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
