I grew up at Doughty Lake spent many many happy summers in that area and I love going back. I know the area as well as I know the back of my hand, but theyre still always something new to discover.

The female camp host was visible and diligent. The site was clean and there was a lack of mosquitos and flies. Great scenery and shade.

This is a wonderful campground; no wonder it is so popular. Nestled in the woods on the shores of Dowdy Lake, this campground is made up of several small rings of sites. One ring is slightly back from the shore, but the others have terrific views of the lake beyond. For people camping in tents, there is parking on one loop and then you camp closer to the shoreline on terraced sites. Yes, you do have to carry your gear to the site. The bathrooms are vault toilets, but they were clean with minimal odor. Trash bins are near the toilets and so is a hydrant for water. Once you have claimed your site you are given a car tag that gives you access to the day-use area and the other parks in the area for kayaking or fishing. There was cellphone service with Verizon I think.

So pretty! The campsite was clean and the tent pads were flat. The view is breath taking. My favorite camp site

Dowdy Lake is a true gem in Red Feather. From paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing or sitting there watching the birds and water glisten in the sun, its a little bit of heaven! We loved our campsite with the cute trail to our picnic table and down to the lake with what seemed like our own private little area, it was perfection. Our camp host was friendly and helpful, went above & beyond to help us stay an extra night and our site was very clean as well as under the picnic table ! We will be back!

Quiet, clean and beautiful. Paddle Boarding, boulder climbing, hiking & lying in the hammock kept us busy. We will be back to Dowdy Lake for sure! Hosts were super helpful, cleanest pit bathrooms we've ever seen (the kids said they were cleaner than the last campground with running water!). T-mobile service was spotty at the site, but smooth at the lake shore. We had 9 folks, 2 cars w/ campers and 1 tent on a group site and could have easily fit another family. Beware - Summer weekdays often mean construction delays (intermittent road closures added an extra 30 min. to the drive home Monday).

The site was beautiful and scenic. The campsite itself was perfect! Laid out nicely! Level and well groomed area for the tent, clean, secure, and large bear box, and large, clean picnic table. The hosts were present, kind, and helpful. The bathrooms were immaculate! They never smelled like port-a-potty type toilets once! Overall, I would rate this a 5 star plus experience! The only negative thing I have to say is that I would not consider #27 an accessible site because there is a staircase between the site and the bathrooms and parking lot.

Beautiful scenery, great campsites and amazing camp hosts made for an incredible time for my family and I.

The campground was really beautiful. I would have preferred full hookups but they are not available at this campground. There is not a convenient place to get water at the campground, nor a place to dump grey & black tanks. Those two items would have made for a perfect get-away

Its one of our favorite spots close to Denver in such a beautiful location

20 years ago, you could drive up and find an empty spot same day. Now you try your hardest to get a reservation 6 months in advanced, and there are so many times when people reserve and then never show up. If you aren't going to go, don't take spots that other people actually want to use. Stop taking 14 days but only using 3. You are the reason that people can't actually enjoy the outdoors! The fees for not showing up, should be so extreme that people don't make reservations they won't actually fulfill.

Nice campground, vault toilets were clean. No showers available. The lake has a lot of trout. The sites are a little on the smaller side, and not the most private. Overall a nice experience. T-Mobile cell service was non-existent.

Dowdy Lake is such a beautiful campground. The fishing was really good and the lake is beautiful. Highly recommend bringing some sort of shade if youre at lot 28. The rock formations in the lake were perfect for taking a break from paddle boarding as were the little islands. We are adding this place to our summer camping list and plan on going every year.

We had a wonderful camping experience at Dowdy! Site #62. The electricity worked well, the site was level to back our popup trailer in to, large camping site with a tent pad for our adult son. The camp host was friendly and accommodating ! She even warned us personally about a bear sighting near us.

Campground was clean and overall, in very good shape. Very Full which is always a challenge. Couple of camp sites with loud music and bright lights. Hosts were very nice.

Crappers were way too full! T-mobile service was good enough for basic texts, but not streaming (if that matters to you while camping).

It does not seem fair that you charge a double site higher price but yet you get less electricity. A double site is an option for two trailers. I read it was 15 amp. But made the assumption there would be two 15 amp. There was only one and it was a 20 amp and a regular household plug. So we both had to go in to get adapters at the Ace store. Then the power kept tripping and yes, we know we cant run everything at the same time. But there needs to be MUCH better descriptions in the reservation system about what is supplied in the double sites online.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
