Dowdy Lake Campground is located in the Canyon Lakes Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests (1 hr 2 min northwest of Fort Collins, CO) with an elevation of 8,169 feet. There are a total of 62 campsites including 10 tent-only sites. The campground is open all year. 52 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 23 and 130 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. 52 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $18.00 to $52.00. Some amenities include drinking water, boat ramp, restroom, trash dumpster, firewood. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Really had an enjoyable weekend. Not many other campers, it was quiet and peaceful. Got to see turkeys, deer, squirrels and chipmunks. Every area was clean, including the toilets.

Beautiful campground with a lovely lake and plenty of nearby trails to explore.I stayed at site 19, which is conveniently close to the toilets. However, the restroom lights stay on all night and are quite bright. It didnt bother me too much, but it might be nice if they were on a timer or a manual switch for the comfort of nearby campers. If youre sensitive to light, Id recommend choosing a site a little farther from the toilets.

beautiful, boulders lead to the lake. the views alone are incredible. bathrooms are clean. so many camping/rv spots available but each one offers privacy. you can spend a few hours walking around the lake or trails through the place. wildlife all around!! one of our top spots near red feathers!!!

Fishing was always pretty good in years past, this year wasnt as good, still caught fish, theyre just alot smaller. I paid for an rv spot with electric and one day had no electric. So kinda disappointed.

It is a beautiful place!We came in the middle of the week and it was so peaceful and magical.The weekends were nice too. We had a fantastic time.

we love Dowdy, the atmosphere is wonderful, the area clean, the facilities clean and overall pleasant. the campground host is very helpful and knowledgeable.

We had two great camp sites on the lake which were wonderful. The only problem was it was cold and windy on Saturday but Sunday turned better

Facility was well maintained, sites are great, camp host was nice. Unfortunately there was no firewood for sale and nothing online indicated it was unavailable. Camp host said that after their shipment earlier in the season no additional firewood was made available. This is the first time I have experienced this. The biggest frustration was that it was not noted in the facility information.

Rocks like sculpture and a magnificent trail that circumvents the lake - plus 30 amps for our Sprinter.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! My only complaint is the bathroom has RIDICULOUS flood lights that illuminated the entire campsite & majorly distracted from the night sky.

Beautiful spot and nice campground! Everyone was courteous and fairly quiet despite being at capacity. Unfortunately bathroom closest to our spot was in dire need of pump out and fire ring full of ash to above air holes. Didnt seem safe/contained so we used our solo fire ring.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Dowdy Lake, thanks to the excellent service of the campground hosts, Diana and David. They were most gracious and helped us with some reservation issues we were experiencing. They keep the area in excellent shape and were most helpful when some cattle visited our site. They are the best.
