We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Dowdy Lake, thanks to the excellent service of the campground hosts, Diana and David. They were most gracious and helped us with some reservation issues we were experiencing. They keep the area in excellent shape and were most helpful when some cattle visited our site. They are the best.

This National Park is one of the nicest places we've been to this year! We will be back again and again. It's just great for seniors but not so much for kids...

The spot was beautiful, the campers were quiet, mostly! Unfortunately, many people thought it okay to not leash their dogs.

Campground nice, spaced out site 35 right by lake, easy to back up trailer into spot. Local had her kayaks and canoe by lake and came and told us to be aware of them while we were fishing. Hmm

We loved our time at Dowdy! During the week it was so peaceful and plenty of outdoors adventures for us such as paddle boarding, hiking and biking. We road our bikes to town and enjoyed a dinner out and some shopping in a small but quaint town. Our spot was 38 which is close to the water and very deep so you get a fantastic view of the lake. Tons of wildlife! Eagles, Great Blue Heron, deer, coyote and signs of bear although we didnt ever see or hear it.

Dowdy Campground is located next to it's namesake, Lake Dowdy, a beautiful lake, that is unfortunately, extremely popular. Campsites are clean and facilities well taken care of by friendly staff, and yet, are situated much too close to each other, traffic was continually going and coming, all day and night long. Day Use areas, adjacent to Campground are very popular and crowded , and sadly many of the people that use them do not know how to clean up after themselves. It was possible to find a few peaceful moments in the early morning. All in all our stay was just OK, maybe we'll consider it again late spring or fall, when it may be less crowded..

Tent-only area is next to the lake with terrific views and easy accessibility to the lake. Tent pads and table very clean. Clean bathrooms with plenty of toilet paper and a small trash bin inside. Bear boxes available at each site. This was our first time and it was great - we'll be back!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
