We love camping at Dowdy, my grandson and husband always catch fish! We just wish it wasn't so difficult to get a reservation!

This has got to be my favorite campground of all times. Nice big spaces, lots of room, quiet, beautiful… The cleanest bathrooms ever!!! You need to train the National Park people!

Site was in great shape when I arrived, toilets were well stocked and clean. The host responsible for my area was friendly and professional. Great overall experience.

Dowdy is beautiful and the campsites are well spaced so you don't feel like you are sharing with strangers. The bathrooms are close enough to most sites that a short walk in the dark is fine. The wall around the lake isn't a complete trail, so it gets weird trying to find a path at one point, but it is still a pretty good path. There are trees all over and most sites have shade. Again it is a beautiful site and I will definitely be going back, as long as I can find a spot

Our favorite camping spot. It is beautiful and you can fish, hike(lots of trails for all ages and abilities) or kayak. The campsites are far enough apart that it seems private. We no longer tent camp but if we did, Dowdy would be #1.Very clean and well kept and the camp hosts are wonderful.

The camp hosts were amazing! They were friendly and made every site seem like we were the first people to camp there. This is the cleanest site weve stayed in. The bear vaults were clean enough to store food in bins, not just trash. The camping pad was freshly raked before our arrival. We had a wonderful stay and cant wait to go back!

Easy access to the lake for paddle boarding, kayaking, and fishing. Beautiful views. The path around the lake was kind of disgusting with cow patties everywhere. Had to keep the dog out of them, which was almost as challenging as keeping the kids from accidentally stepping in them. And when I say "everywhere", they were about every 5 feet, huge patties on either side of the trail and sometimes right in the middle of it. The trail connection to Mount Margaret from the campsite went straight thru the federal land where the cows are apparently allowed graze, so you had to wade thru the herd at points... which is a bit unnerving.
