#16 Was a great spot with shade but it was also unfortunately COVERED in red ants. There were several red ant mounds around the area and a lot of trash left in our site and the other sites reserved by family members. One of them had a lot of glass in the area and it looked like someone had tried to catch a bottle of lighter fluid on fire in the fire pit and left it.

The campsite was very arid, and without some trees, it got very hot. Our specific campsite ended up having a fire ant hill inside it, and bug bites were plenty. With that being said it did come with a spigot for water, a clean bathroom, and a hike up the hill led to a grand view. I wish it was better, but it could have been worse.

It was a beautiful experience, and my husband and I had an amazing weekend.The campground Los Alamos is nice, clean and the host is kind. Our site was 72 but this one didn't have any shade, so we were lucky to find site 80 and it was a little bit better. In this campground, you can find some deluxe sites, which are nice. The best part was our visit to the lake. It was amazing, you can enjoy your day doing a variety of activities.100% recommended to find fun with the family

Mixed feelings, pyramid lakes barley has any shade, i would say 5% of the whole campground! That being said, make sure to take couple canopies with you with side walls! The site was very small and barely can take 2 small tents.

This campground is safe and very natural. The flush toilets were maintained and clean. The camp host was very kind and helpful. This place has amazing views. We were able to see clear skies .

Was good but doesnt have showers and it gets very windy and dirt flys all over the place

First off be prepared for strong winds and hot weather. The campground gets very windy, especially in the afternoon and evening, and theres minimal natural shade, so it can get uncomfortably hot during the day. If youre camping, bring a sturdy canopy for shade and make sure to secure it tightly the wind can easily knock things over if not anchored well.Access to the actual lake area is not included with your campground fee. Its an additional $15 per vehicle, so keep that in mind when budgeting. That said, the lake itself is beautiful and a great spot for relaxing, boating, or picnicking.One highlight of the visit was the information center its clean, well-organized, and staffed by helpful people. Theres a lot of interesting information about the lake, the surrounding area, and water resources in California.

Pyramid Lake was a convenient stop to break up a drive from Oakland to San Diego! There were lots of rabbits running around the campsite, which was adorable. The host was nice, the bathrooms were clean, and the sites were well-maintained. All that being said, it was basically an open field area without much shade or privacy so I would not go out of my way to camp there.It worked, for all in-tents-ive purposes.

Lovely campsite! Bathrooms were clean and there were some water sources scattered amongst some sites. Plenty of space and privacy in our specific spot.

This is a great campground with a lot of open space and great views of the mountains. The lake is actually miles from the campground, so don't expect views of it. The grounds are well-maintained, as are the bathrooms. There are no bear lockers, but this isn't really a bear area so it doesn't matter much. Site 08 doesn't have any shade but depending on when you go, that's not really an issue. The access road is fine for any car really and maps may show Hard Luck Rd is closed, but that's after the camp entrance. Still had a great time chilling here...views for days.

Got to the site and found a couple already in this spot. They said someone took their spot so they took mine. Had to share my second spot with my whole family....

Loop 2 Site 27 was a nice spot but there was hardly any shade (Sep 20-22). The location is all incline with barely any flat areas, we were all sliding down our sleeping mats throughout the night. While walking around the campground loops, Loop 4 looked the nicest and seemed to have the most flat land of them all. Different entrances to Pyramid Lake are a short drive away (between 8-20 min depending on which entrance you go into). Theres a small camp store at the entrance of the campgrounds that has camping essentials, but no wood was available (temporary fire ban). You can see some controlled burn areas within some of the loops. There are flush toilets at each loop which is a luxury but the stalls in Loop 2 frequently ran out of toilet paper, one of the stalls had no lights, water flooded all over the floors. There are trash cans within close proximity. There are fire pits which this specific site has a huge boulder by the pit (it was a nice companion to sit with haha). The listing says bear approved canisters are required but no ranger or host came by to greet us nor check (even so I would not want to risk it.. just get the canister!)

Overall great spot. If you are going with friends there are lots of good options to have sites together. Cant get hot during the summer months due to little shade but being in a valley it cools down fast as the sun goes down. Easy access to bathrooms, water and trash

When we first arrived, we were surprised by all of the fire damage. Our campsite was ok for the one night we were staying there. We were able to see a deer pass thru the campground, a small snake sunning itself, and we took an enjoyable walk around the area, and up to the gate of the fire station. The bathrooms were clean, and functional.We were a bit worried about possible freeway noise from Hwy 5, but it wasnt really a problem. The Ramadas at the sites are getting a bit creaky, but again, not bad enough to keep us awake.

We stayed at site 16, it was huge. With an ample amount of shade. I can tell you though... the camp ground IS NOT across the street from pyramid lake!!! It is about a 5 to 10 minute drive. Also you will have to pay the $15 to get into the lake even though you are camping at the only campground close to the lake. I was disappointed in that and that they weren't across the street like we had been told. Other then those 2 things camping there was a blast. It was clean and had nice clean bathrooms. Each camp site comes with running water. I recommend it.

We stayed in loop 2 number 44 it was nicely shaded. We stay here every year its very clean. They have restrooms. And the ppl that stay there to take care of the area are very nice ppl. My only complaints are we like to camp for a week and they have no showers. I feel like ppl would stay longer if they had showers they could even charge more to have the showers there. But being out in the heat and in the lake water and not being able to shower is crazy. I had to buy a shower to take out there. And second the lake is about a 5 min drive from the campground which isnt bad but when you go to the lake everyday it adds up cuz the lake charges you 15 dollars per car to park inside. So not only are you paying to camp but youre paying to go inside the lake. I think that park is rediculous I feel like the camp ppl that are camping at the pyramid lake shouldnt have to pay to go into the lake that should be included in the campground. But I guess. Like Im not camping to just sit in the dirt at a campground we go for the lake. And last but not least a playground for kids would be nice at the campground as well. Now I no it seams Im asking for a lot here lol but I just feel like all these little fixings would bring alot more ppl. And they would want to camp longer and Im sure would pay more to be able to have a clean ass. And a play area for kids. And an all included lake and camp type thing. But besides all that the couple that takes care of the sites where really very nice. And the sites are nice with great Mountain Views. Will still come to camp again. But hope the managers of this establishment take into consideration that ppl like to be clean and the lake water is far from it. So showers would be very nice!!!

The Los Alamos Campground at Pyramid Lake was a dream facility to visit during the winter. It was quite empty, but still the bathroom facilities were well maintained, the campsite was well marked and correctly reserved for me. Everything about the visit was smooth and easy and I had plenty of peace and quiet for my visit, a wonderful off-peak camping destination for Los Padres and even quick day trips down to Los Angeles itself.

Very clean camping areas and restrooms. Camping is very close to Pyramid Lake which is nice. Theres a small store at Loop 3 but they were out of wood & ice. The grounds staff was friendly and helpful.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
