It would be nice to have at least electrical hook ups. I was able to reasonably level my camper. I loved the remoteness of the location. The Campground needs to be landscaped. There were many animal holes on which I could hurt my ankle(s). Overall is was a beautiful site. Very close to L.A. Next time I come to LA I will stay there.

First off, the campground is more than a mile away from the water. That should be said. Is it especially beautiful? Not really, but you can only ask for so much within an hour from Los Angeles.
So why am I giving it 5 stars? Because reservations are easy, the facilities are kept up well and clean, and the campsites are situated in a way where you can have more privacy than most campgrounds. The campground hosts are especially nice as well.
If your expectations are reasonable, I think this is a great site for families that like spacious, well-kept campsites. And a 5 min drive will get you to the shores of Pyramid Lake.

I stayed in site #32 and #33. I had never camped at this campground so wasnt sure what to expect. The grounds were very well kept and I was pleasantly surprised to see the bathrooms were also just as neat. The host in our section was BEYOND helpful and SO friendly, both her and her dog Tank (I seem to recall her dogs name but blanked hers after meeting him ) I stayed alone the last night and felt at ease knowing they were nearby. I also took my boat out to lake Pyramid for the first time, youd better be ready to show all proper licensing and registration as well as all safety equipment aboard!! The Sheriffs WILL NOT let you on the lake without. Beautiful lake, a little windy making the water a bit choppy in the late afternoon. Try to avoid launching in the late morning-early afternoon, the ramp is a nightmare. Also, We went the weekend before Labor Day and it was a ghost town Overall, a really enjoyable experience- after the lake hiccups were taken care of. I definitely recommend staying here, Google the best sites. Thats what I did. Have fun!
